although gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs)are rare,with an incidence of 1/100000 per year,they are the most common sarcomas in the peritoneal *** considerable progress in the diagnosis and treatment of GIST,about half of all patients are estimated to experience *** only two drugs,sunitinib and regorafenib,approved by the Food and Drug Administration,selecting treatment options after imatinib failure and coordinating multidisciplinary care remain *** addition,physicians across the Middle East face some additional and unique challenges such as lack of published local data from clinical trials,national disease registries and regional scientific research,limited access to treatment,lack of standardization of care,and limited access to mutational *** global guidelines set a framework for the management of GIST,there are no standard local guidelines to guide clinical practice in a resource-limited ***,a group of 11 experienced medical oncologists from across the Gulf and Levant region,part of the Rare Tumors Gastrointestinal Group,met over a period of one year to conduct a narrative review of the management of GIST and to describe regional challenges and gaps in patient management as an essential step to proposing local clinical practice recommendations.

Periodontal regenerative techniques have been proposed; however, the outcomes remain debatable. The present investigation assessed the regenerated cementum following enamel matrix derivative application in dehiscence-type defects. Buccal osseous dehiscences were surgically created on the maxillary cuspid, and the second and fourth premolars in five female beagle dogs. The treatment group （n=15 sites） received the enamel matrix derived application, whereas the control groups （n=15） did not. The dogs were sacrificed 4 months following treatment and the specimens were histologically and histometrically examined. The newly formed cementum was uneven in thickness and mineralization, overlapped the old cementum and exhibited functional orientation, cementocyte lacunae and collagen fibril bundles. Most of the histological specimens showed the presence of a gap between the newly formed cementum and the underlying dentin. Control sites did not exhibit any cementum formation. The present study concluded that newly formed cementum is of cellular type and exhibits multiple characteristics.

BACKGROUND Relapse following orthodontic treatment has been a common problem that can occur due to several factors. It was suggested that surgical circumferential supracrestal fiberotomy(CSF) is an effective measure to reduce this ***, very few studies have reported the amount of relapse that occurs *** To assess the frequency of rotational relapse on anterior teeth 1 year following *** Eleven adults(six male and five female) with a mean age of 23 years(standard deviation = 5.2), who had a total of 90 rotated anterior teeth, were included in this study. CSF was performed after comprehensive orthodontic treatment involving the use of full-fixed preadjusted edgewise appliances(Victory Series APC, 3 M,United States) with a 0.022-inch slot and Roth prescription brackets(Ovation;DENTSPLY GAC, Bohemia, New York, United States) and placement of a fixed lingual retainer from canine to canine in both arches using a 0.016 Australian wire(AJ Wilcock, Australia). Degrees of rotational correction and relapse were measured on three sets of casts [pretreatment, post-treatment(at the debond visit), and 1-year post-treatment]. Rotational relapse was categorized as follows:Unnoticeable relapse(0°), barely noticeable relapse(1°-3°), noticeable relapse(4°-9°), and clearly noticeable relapse(≥ 10°). The percent relapse that had occurred 1 year after teeth were aligned to their ideal position was calculated. Data were analyzed by dental arch type and tooth *** Mean rotational correction was 14.05° during posttreatment. Mean relapse at 1-year follow-up was 1.1°(10.8%). More than half(n = 52, 57.8%) of teeth were categorized as having unnoticeable relapse(0°). Of the remaining teeth, 31(34.5%) had barely noticeable relapse(1°-3°), 6(6.6%) had noticeable relapse(4°-9°), and only one(1.1%) had clearly noticeable relapse(> 10°). Objective:To evaluate the effect of Quercetin (QT) on erectile dysfunction and oxidative stress in penile tissue of streptozotocin-induced diabetic ***: Two weeks after diabetes induction, QT was treated to normal and diabetic rats for 5 wk. Sexual behavioral parameters including mount latency, intromission latency, ejaculation latency, post-ejaculatory interval, mount frequency and intromission frequency, were observed against stimulus females. Sperm count and their motility and viability were recorded. Serum glucose and testosterone levels were estimated. In penile tissue levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate, thiobarbituric acid reactive substances and glutathione, and enzymatic activities of superoxide dismutase and catalase were measured. Histopathological changes were evaluated in a cross-section of penile ***:Sexual behavioral ejaculation latency, post-ejaculatory interval, mount latency and intromission latency were significantly increased while mount frequency and intromission frequency were decreased in diabetic rats. Treatment with QT corrected the male sexual behavioral levels and also enhanced the inhibited sperm count, motility and viability in diabetic rats. Serum testosterone and penile cyclic guanosine monophosphate levels were significantly increased in QT treated diabetic rats compared to untreated diabetic animals. Penile oxidative stress biomarkers were corrected by the QT treatments in diabetic rats. Histopathological evaluation revealed damaged penile tissues in diabetic rats, which was protected following QT ***: QT eliminated the diabetic-induced sexual impairment and showed significant antioxidant effects in penile tissue. Further experimental studies are recommended for QT therapeutically usage.

Phylogenetic and taxonomic studies on ciliate protists using molecular approaches have been demonstrated to be very reliable to form strong conclusions and results. In the present work, species separation of some morphologically similar stichotrichous ciliates, two species of Pseudokeronopsis and two species of Apokeronopsis, was reexamined using amplified ribosomal DNA restriction analysis (PCR-RFLP). Five of 10 restriction enzymes revealed species-specific polymorphic patterns, of which four similar stichotrichs could be significantly separated and identified. Among them, EcoR I offered almost no significantly different restriction fragment patterns, but the four species could be separated from one another and identified with Hae Ⅲ. Distinctly different restriction digestion haplotypes and simi-larity indices separated the species, and were used to construct a phylogeny. Phylogenies based on ITS2 nucleotide sequences and ITS2 secondary structures supported the separation of Pseudokeronopsis and Apokeronopsis using RFLP analysis, although three Pseudoker-onopsis carnea populations did not cluster together. In addition, phylogenetic analyses using multiple algorithms confirmed that these two genera formed two distinct groups within the urostylids.

AIM:To investigate whether carnitine deficiency is a risk factor during the development of diethylnitrosamine (DENA)-induced hepatic carcinogenesis. METHODS:A total of 60 male Wistar albino rats were divided into six groups with 10 animals in each *** in group 1(control group)received a single intraperitoneal(i.p.)injection of normal saline. Animals in group 2(carnitine-supplemented group) were given L-carnitine(200 mg/kg per day)in drinking water for 8 *** in group 3(carnitine-depleted group)were given D-carnitine(200 mg/kg per day)and mildronate(200 mg/kg per day)in drinking water for 8 *** in group 4(DENA group)were injected with a single dose of DENA(200 mg/kg,i.p.)and 2 wk later received a single dose of carbon tetrachloride(2 mL/kg) by gavage as 1:1 dilution in corn *** in group 5(DENA-carnitine depleted group)received the same treatment as group 3 and group *** in group 6 (DENA-carnitine supplemented group)received the same treatment as group 2 and group ***:Administration of DENA resulted in a significant increase in alanine transaminase(alT), gamma-glutamyl transferase(G-GT),alkaline phosphatase(alP),total bilirubin,thiobarbituric acid reactive substances(TBARS)and total nitrate/ nitrite(NOx)and a significant decrease in reduced glutathione(GSH),glutathione peroxidase(GSHPx), catalase(CAT)and total carnitine content in liver *** the carnitine-depleted rat model,DENA induced a dramatic increase in serum alT,G-GT,alP and total bilirubin,as well as a progressive reduction in total carnitine content in liver ***, L-carnitine supplementation resulted in a complete reversal of the increase in liver enzymes,TBARS and NOx,and a decrease in total carnitine,GSH,GSHPx, and CAT induced by DENA,compared with the control *** examination of liver tissues confirmed the biochemical data,where L-carnitine prevented DENA-induced hepatic carcinogenesis while D-carnitine-mildronate aggravated DENA-

Spindle cell lipoma（SCL） is a benign lipomatous neoplasm typically located in the posterior neck and back of older males. It presents as a well-circumscribed mass in the buccal mucosa, tongue, floor of the mouth or hard palate. There are only two case reports of SCL in the gingiva and alveolar ridge. Here, we report a case of SCL in the mandibular mucogingival junction of a 68-year-old male. Clinical,histopathological and immunohistochemical findings are presented. although oral SCL is rare, it should be considered in the differential diagnosis of spindle cell neoplasms occurring in the oral cavity.

Most of the questions from users lack the context needed to thoroughly understand the problemat hand,thus making the questions impossible to *** Similarity Estimation is based on relating user’s questions to the context from previous Conversational Search Systems(CSS)to provide answers without requesting the user’s *** imposes constraints on the time needed to produce an answer for the *** proposed model enables the use of contextual data associated with previous Conversational Searches(CS).While receiving a question in a new conversational search,the model determines the question that refers tomore *** then infers past contextual data related to the given question and predicts an answer based on the context inferred without engaging in multi-turn interactions or requesting additional data from the user for *** model shows the ability to use the limited information in user queries for best context inferences based on Closed-Domain-based CS and Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers for textual representations.

Neonatal hyperbilirubinemia is a common phenomenon shortly after birth and a frequent cause of prolonged hospitalization[1].Increased enterohepatic circulation of indirect bilirubin is one of the elucidated mechanisms implicated in the pathophysiology of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia[2,3].According to various in vitro and in vivo evidence from animal[3]and human[2]trials,zinc salts have been depicted to reduce bilirubin levels.
