In this study,a turbulent non-premixed(diffusion)methane-air flame has been investigated computationally to analyze the influences of pressure and gravity on flame structure and sooting characteristics between 1 and 10 *** simulation has been conducted in a 2-D axisymmetric computational domain using the finite volume-based computational fluid dynamics(CFD)*** interaction of turbulence and chemistry is modeled by considering the steady laminar flamelet model(SLFM)and the GRI Mech 3.0 chemical *** radiative heat transfer calculation is carried out by considering the discrete ordinate(DO)method and the weighted sum grey gas model(WSGGM).The semi-empirical Moss-Brookes model is considered to calculate *** impact of gravity on flame and sooting characteristics are evaluated by comparing the normal-gravity flames with the zero-gravity *** effect of soot and radiation on flame temperature is also *** results show a close agreement with the measurement when both soot and radiation are included in the numerical *** rates of soot formation,surface growth,and oxidation increase with increased operating pressure,regardless of ***-gravity flames have a higher soot volume fraction,a wider soot-containing zone,a higher CO mass fraction,and a lower flame temperature than normal-gravity flames while maintaining constant *** normal-gravity flames,the CO mass fraction decreases with pressure,whereas it increases with pressure rise in flames of zero *** of zero gravity appear taller and broader compared to the flames of normalgravity for a fixed *** increase in pressure significantly reduces the flame length and width in normal-gravity ***,the pressure elevation has little effect on the shape of a zero-gravity *** outcomes of the present study will assist in fully understanding the combustion and sooting characteristics of turbulent diffusion flames that will help design and develop h

Habitual khat chewing and oral melanoacanthoma: A case report

BACKGROUND Habitual khat(Catha edulis) chewing has been proven to cause numerous oral tissue changes. However, oral melanoacanthoma triggered by chronic khat chewing is rare. Oral melanoacanthoma is an uncommon, sudden, asymptomatic, benign pigmentation of the oral cavity. Under the microscope, the epithelial layer of the oral mucosa showed dendritic melanocyte proliferation and acanthosis. The study aimed to highlight chronic khat chewing as a trigger for oral *** SUMMARY In the current study, we report a case of a 26-year-old male patient with a rare presentation of oral melanoacanthoma triggered by regular khat chewing. Many intrinsic and extrinsic factors can cause oral pigmentation. Chewing khat is an extrinsic factor that can cause several diseases, including oral pigmentation. In this case, the definitive diagnosis was oral melanoacanthoma. This diagnosis was made based on the patient’s history, clinical lesion presentation, and microscopic biopsy *** Habitual khat(Catha edulis) chewing causes many oral tissue changes including oral melanoacanthoma. The study aimed to highlight chronic khat chewing as a trigger for oral melanoacanthoma.

Peristaltic flow of Johnson-Segalman fluid in asymmetric channel with convective boundary conditions

This work is concerned with the peristaltic transport of the Johnson-Segalman fluid in an asymmetric channel with convective boundary conditions. The mathematical modeling is based upon the conservation laws of mass, linear momentum, and energy. The resulting equations are solved after long wavelength and low Reynolds number are used. The results for the axial pressure gradient, velocity, and temperature profiles are obtained for small Weissenberg number. The expressions of the pressure gra-dient, velocity, and temperature are analyzed for various embedded parameters. Pumping and trapping phenomena are also explored.

Oscillatory flow of second grade fluid in cylindrical tube

The unsteady oscillatory flow of an incompressible second grade fluid in a cylindrical tube with large wall suction is studied analytically. Flow in the tube is due to uniform suction at the permeable walls, and the oscillations in the velocity field are due to small amplitude time harmonic pressure waves. The physical quantities of interest are the velocity field, the amplitude of oscillation, and the penetration depth of the oscillatory wave. The analytical solution of the governing boundary value problem is obtained, and the effects of second grade fluid parameters are analyzed and discussed.

Knowledge and Perceptions of Hospital Care Staff towards Medical Internet of Things and the Role of Awareness Videos: A Quasi Experimental Study

Introduction: The healthcare industry continues to adopt and integrate smart technology into its operations. However, the adoption of the eHealth solutions has not been smooth in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) due to negative beliefs about the technology, lack of awareness and motivation and resistance to change. Thus, this study was developed to investigate the knowledge and perceptions of hospital care staff towards the Medical Internet of Things and to explore the role of awareness videos in changing negative perceptions. Methods: One group pre-test post-test quasi-experimental study design was incorporated, and 116 participants from Ministry of Health hospitals in Riyadh, KSA, were included. A series of four videos were developed to observe their influence on the knowledge and perceptions of mIoT. Results: The findings showed that participants had more knowledge about the individual components of mIoT (particularly wearable devices) compared to the processes or functions of mIoT. Similarly, just over half (56.0%) of the individuals think that the current systems in the hospital are enough to deliver mIoT. However, 90% think mIoT is the future of digital health. Similarly, PE, SI, BI, EE and CESE were considered facilitators and PTA and CC were considered grave barriers to mIoT adoption. The awareness videos positively influenced knowledge and perceptions of PE, EE, CESE and SI. Conclusion: The study concludes that hospital staff in Riyadh (excluding doctors) possess basic mIoT knowledge, consider various adoption factors as enablers, and awareness video can play a critical role in effectively introducing the technology to the hospital care staff.

Unified Computational Modelling for Healthcare Device Security Assessment

This article evaluates the security techniques that are used to maintainthe healthcare devices, and proposes a mathematical model to list these in theorder of priority and preference. To accomplish the stated objective, the articleuses the Fuzzy Analytic Network Process (ANP) integrated with Technical forOrder Preference by Similarities to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) to find the suitablealternatives of the security techniques for securing the healthcare devices fromtrespassing. The methodology is enlisted to rank the alternatives/ techniquesbased on their weights’ satisfaction degree. Thereafter, the ranks of the alternatives determine the order of priority for the techniques used in healthcare *** findings of our analysis cite that Machine Learning (ML) based healthcaredevices obtained the highest priority among all the other security *** the developers, manufacturers and researchers should focus on the MLtechniques for securing the healthcare devices. The results drawn through theaid of the suggested mathematical model would be a corroborative referencefor the developers and the manufacturers in assessing the security techniques ofthe healthcare devices.

Recognition of dynamic hand gestures in real-time is a difficult task because the system can never know when or from where the gesture starts and ends in a video *** researchers have been working on visionbased gesture recognition due to its various *** paper proposes a deep learning architecture based on the combination of a 3D Convolutional Neural Network(3D-CNN)and a Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)*** proposed architecture extracts spatial-temporal information from video sequences input while avoiding extensive *** 3D-CNN is used for the extraction of spectral and spatial features which are then given to the LSTM network through which classification is carried *** proposed model is a light-weight architecture with only 3.7 million training *** model has been evaluated on 15 classes from the 20BN-jester dataset available *** model was trained on 2000 video-clips per class which were separated into 80%training and 20%validation *** accuracy of 99%and 97%was achieved on training and testing data,*** further show that the combination of 3D-CNN with LSTM gives superior results as compared to MobileNetv2+LSTM.
