Sprouts are ready-to-eat and are recognized worldwide as functional components of the human *** advances in innovative agricultural techniques could enable an increase in the production of healthy *** use of light-emitting diode(LED)in indoor agricultural production could alter the biological feedback loop,increasing the functional beneﬁts of plant foods such as wheat and lentil sprouts and promoting the bioavailability of *** effects of white(W),red(R),and blue(B)light were investigated on the growth parameters and nutritional value of wheat and lentil *** the laboratory,seeds were sown under three different LED treat-ments:white,red,and blue light,while normal incandescent light served as a *** seed germina-tion improved by 18.34%and 12.67%for wheat and 18.34%and 12.67%for lentil sprouts under LED treatments R and B,*** increase in total soluble protein and sugar by 33.4%and 9.23%in wheat and by 31.5%and 5.87%in lentils was observed under the R LED *** C concentrations in wheat and lentils were signiﬁcantly increased by R LED compared to all other *** parameters,including potassium and sodium concentrations,were signiﬁcantly increased under red and blue light compared to the control;white light,on the other hand,signiﬁcantly decreased all these *** to the experimental data,red and blue LED light could be beneﬁcial in the production of functional wheat and lentil sprouts with high nutrient concentrations.

Nanostructures/patterns formed by biomolecules can produce different physicochemical properties in terms of hydrophobicity, zeta-potential, color, etc., which play paramount roles in life. Peptides, as the main bio-building blocks, can form nanostructures with different functions,either in solutions or on interfaces. Previously, we synthesized a short peptide with the inspiration of an Alzheimer’s disease-related peptide: amyloid β peptide(A-p),namely GAV-9, which can epitaxially self-assemble into regular nanofilaments on liquid-solid interfaces, and it was found that both the hydrophobicity and charge state of the interfaces can significantly influence its assembling behavior. It was also reported that another A-β-containing dipeptide, FF,can self-assemble into nanostructures in solutions. Owing to the close relationship between these two short peptides, it is interesting to conjugate them into a de novo peptide with two separated structural domains and study its self-assembling behavior. To this end, herein we have synthesized the GAV-FF peptide with a sequence of NH2-VGGAVVAGVFF-CONH2 and verified its selfassembling property using the in situ liquid-phase atomic force microscopy. The results show that the GAV-FF peptide can self-assemble into nanofilaments both in solutions and on aqueous-solid interfaces, but with different morphologies. The FF domain accelerates the template-assisted self-assembling(TASA) process of the GAV domain, which in return enhances the solubility of FF in aqueous solutions and further participates in the fibrillization of FF. The current results could help deepen the understanding of the aggregation mechanism of diseaserelated peptides and could also shed light on the strategies to create artificial bio-functional nanostructures/patterns,which hold a significant potential for biomedical applications.

Detection of Left Ventricular Cavity from Cardiac MRI Images Using Faster R-CNN

The automatic localization of the left ventricle(LV)in short-axis magnetic resonance(MR)images is a required step to process cardiac images using convolutional neural networks for the extraction of a region of interest(ROI).The precise extraction of the LV’s ROI from cardiac MRI images is crucial for detecting heart disorders via cardiac segmentation or ***,this task appears to be intricate due to the diversities in the size and shape of the LV and the scattering of surrounding tissues across different ***,this study proposed a region-based convolutional network(Faster R-CNN)for the LV localization from short-axis cardiac MRI images using a region proposal network(RPN)integrated with deep feature classification and *** was trained using images with corresponding bounding boxes(labels)around the LV,and various experiments were applied to select the appropriate layers and set the suitable *** experimental findings showthat the proposed modelwas adequate,with accuracy,precision,recall,and F1 score values of 0.91,0.94,0.95,and 0.95,*** model also allows the cropping of the detected area of LV,which is vital in reducing the computational cost and time during segmentation and classification ***,itwould be an ideal model and clinically applicable for diagnosing cardiac diseases.

Bat algorithm(BA)is an eminent meta-heuristic algorithm that has been widely used to solve diverse kinds of optimization *** leverages the echolocation feature of bats produced by imitating the bats’searching *** faces premature convergence due to its local search *** of using the standard uniform walk,the Torus walk is viewed as a promising alternative to improve the local search *** this work,we proposed an improved variation of BA by applying torus walk to improve diversity and *** *** Computerized Bat Algorithm(MCBA)approach has been examined for fifteen well-known benchmark test *** finding of our technique shows promising performance as compared to the standard PSO and standard *** proposed MCBA,BPA,Standard PSO,and Standard BA have been examined for well-known benchmark test problems and training of the artificial neural network(ANN).We have performed experiments using eight benchmark datasets applied from the worldwide famous machine-learning(ML)repository of *** results have shown that the training of an ANN with MCBA-NN algorithm tops the list considering exactness,with more superiority compared to the traditional *** MCBA-NN algorithm may be used effectively for data classification and statistical problems in the future.

We study the scattering of J/ψ - J/ψ mesons using quadratic and Cornell potentials in our tetraquark(cccc)*** system’s wavefunction in the restricted gluonic basis,which is written by utilizing the adiabatic approximation and Hamiltonian,is used via a quark potential *** resonating group technique is used to obtain the integral equations,which are solved to obtain the unknown inter-cluster dependence of the total wavefunction of our tetraquark system.T-Matrix elements are calculated from the solutions,and eventually,the scattering cross sections are obtained using the two *** compare these cross sections and find that the magnitudes of scattering cross sections of quadratic potential are higher than the Cornell potential.

Dynamics of Particles Around a Regular Black Hole with Nonlinear Electrodynamics

We investigate the dynamics of a charged particle being kicked off from its circular orbit around a regular black hole by an incoming massive particle in the presence of magnetic field. The resulting escape velocity, escape energy and the effective potential are analyzed. It is shown that the presence of even a very weak magnetic field helps the charged particles in escaping the gravitational field of the black hole. Moreover the effective force acting on the particle visibly reduces with distance. Thus particle near the black hole will experience higher effective force as compared to when it is far away.

In silico analysis of a disease-causing mutation in PCDH15 gene in a consanguineous Pakistani family with Usher phenotype

AIM： To map Usher phenotype in a consanguineous Pakistani family and identify disease-associated mutation in a causative gene to establish phenotype-genotype correlation.· METHODS： A consanguineous Pakistani family in which Usher phenotype was segregating as an autosomal recessive trait was ascertained. On the basis of results of clinical investigations of affected members of this family disease was diagnosed as Usher syndrome（USH）. To identify the locus responsible for the Usher phenotype in this family, genomic DNA from blood sample of each individual was genotyped using microsatellite Short Tandem Repeat（STR） markers for the known Usher syndrome loci. Then direct sequencing was performed to find out disease associated mutations in the candidate gene.· RESULTS： By genetic linkage analysis, the USH phenotype of this family was mapped to PCDH15 locus on chromosome 10q21.1. Three different point mutations in exon 11 of PCDH15 were identified and one of them,c.1304AC was found to be segregating with the disease phenotype in Pakistani family with Usher ***, c.1304 A C transversion mutation predicts an amino-acid substitution of aspartic acid with an alanine at residue number 435（p.D435A） of its protein ***, in silico analysis revealed conservation of aspartic acid at position 435 and predicated this change as pathogenic.·CONCLUSION：Theidentificationofc.1304ACpathogenic mutation in PCDH15 gene and its association with Usher syndrome in a consanguineous Pakistani family is thefirst example of a missense mutation of PCDH15 causing USH1 phenotype. In previous reports, it was hypothesized that severe mutations such as truncated protein of PCDH15 led to the Usher I phenotype and that missense variants are mainly responsible for non-syndromic hearing impairment.

分子水平上阐明受精过程一直是有性繁殖研究中的一大难题。解决这一难题对生命的繁殖和成功的体外受精都至关重要。研究发现,精子和卵子融合在一起形成受精卵,而蛋白质间的相互作用影响受精过程。为了成功受精,精子需要具备穿透卵子外层的能力。受精过程主要分为三个部分:精子获能,精子与透明带结合诱发顶体反应;以及精子与卵子结合并且膜融合。sllp1由位于17q11.2的SPACA3编码。SLLP1抗体和重组蛋白阻断小鼠体外受精和精卵结合,表明SLLP1可能在精卵相互作用中发挥重要作用。PDIA3也被称为 ERp57,属于蛋白二硫键异构酶(Protein disulfide isomerase,PDI)家族,能够催化蛋白中的二硫键反生氧化还原反应。先前的研究表明,PDIA3也可能参与精子运动和配子融合。到目前为止,这两种蛋白质之间是否存在相互作用仍然未知。因此,我们从雄性绵羊睾丸组织中克隆了 sllp1基因,长度为566 bp;并且构建了原核表达重组载体pET-28a-sllp1,表达和纯化重组蛋白质SLLP1-HIS。本研究构建了酵母双杂交重组载体pGAD-sllp1和pGBK-pdia3,分别转化 Y187、Y2HGold 菌株并杂交,在 SD/-Trp/-His/-Ade/-Leu/X-α-Gal/AbA缺陷型固体培养基上长出了蓝色菌落。结果初步证明,两种蛋白之间存在相互作用。构建了哺乳动物双杂交系统的pACT-pdia3、pBIND-sllp1载体,结果以均数±标准差(n = 3)表示,单因素方差分析执行。阳性对照组p<0.01,存在显著差异;实验组p<0.01,具有明显差异,表明PDIA3和SLLP1在293T细胞中有较强的相互作用。上述实验结果表明,PDIA3和SLLP1之间存在直接的相互作用。

Detection of abnormalities in human eye is one of the wellestablished research areas of Machine *** Learning techniques are widely used for the diagnosis of RetinalDiseases(RD).Fovea is one of the significant parts of retina which would be prevented before the involvement of Perforated Blood Vessels(PBV).Retinopathy Images(RI)contains sufficient information to classify structural changes incurred upon PBV but Macular Features(MF)and Fovea Features(FF)are very difficult to detect because features ofMFand FF could be found with Similar Color Movements(SCM)with minor *** paper presents novel method for the diagnosis of Irregular Fovea(IF)to assist the doctors in diagnosis of irregular *** considering all above problems this paper proposes a three-layer decision support system to explore the hindsight knowledge of RI and to solve the classification problem of *** first layer involves data preparation,the second layer builds the decision model to extract the hidden patterns of fundus images by using Deep Belief Neural Network(DBN)and the third layer visualizes the results by using confusion *** paper contributes a data preparation algorithm for irregular fovea and a highest estimated classification accuracy measured about 96.90%.

AIM:To derive a Malaysia guideline and consensus as part of the Malaysia Retina Group's efforts for diagnosis,treatment,and best practices of diabetic macular edema(DME).The experts'panel suggests that the treatment algorithm to be divided into groups according to involvement the central *** purpose of DME therapy is to improve edema and achieve the best visual results with the least amount of treatment ***:On two different occasions,a panel of 14 retinal specialists from Malaysia,together with an external expert,responded to a questionnaire on management of DME.A consensus was sought by voting after compiling,analyzing and discussion on first-phase replies on the round table discussion.A recommendation was deemed to have attained consensus when 12 out of the 14 panellists(85%)agreed with ***:The terms target response,adequate response,nonresponse,and inadequate response were developed when the DME patients'treatment responses were first *** panelists reached agreement on a number of DME treatment-related issues,including the need to classify patients prior to treatment,firstline treatment options,the right time to switch between treatment modalities,and side effects associated with *** this agreement,recommendations were derived and a treatment algorithm was ***:A detail and comprehensive treatment algorithm by Malaysia Retina Group for the Malaysian population provides guidance for treatment allocation of patients with DME.
