Establishing a child and adolescent mental health center in Herat,Afghanistan:a project description

Objective:Afghanistan has witnessed a long-lasting 4-decade armed conflict,which together with high levels of poverty and interpersonal violence,resulted in high incidence and prevalence of mental disorders in general population,including children and *** mid-2018,there was neither mental health care facility nor a child psychiatrist in ***,we report the establishment of the first children and adolescents'mental health center(CAMHC)in Herat province of ***:In July 2018,CAMHC was initiated at Mental Health Training *** was initially planned by the International Assistance Mission(IAM)and Herat Public Health Directorate;and financially supported by the Tearfund UK,the United Methodist Committee on Relief and Tearfund *** target population of CAMHC was children and adolescents in Herat and neighboring provinces,healthcare professionals,staff of government and non-governmental organizations,school teachers and community ***:A group of eight mental health professionals were trained and made the interdisciplinary board for diagnosis and management of mental disorders in children and *** the initial three-year period,2448 patients,including 1264(51.6%)boys and 1184(48.4%)girls,presented with mental disorders to *** and management of mental disorders were performed according to standard international *** awareness-raising seminars were held;2000 leaflets,10000 posters,and 30000 brochures were prepared and distributed;and two short video clips were produced and broadcast via IAM website,social media and local TV channels.A database was developed to house for project data,assessment of outcomes and reporting to ***:Establishment of CAMHC resulted in significant achievements in diagnosis and management of mental disorders among children and adolescents,healthcare staff capacity building,and awareness-raising about mental *** o

Human metabolite moisture detection is important in health monitoring and non-invasive ***,ultra-sensitive quantitative extraction of respiration information in real-time remains a great ***,chemiresistors based on imine-linked covalent organic framework(COF)films with dual-active sites are fabricated to address this issue,which demonstrates an amplified humidity-sensing signal *** regulation of monomers and functional groups,these COF films can be pre-engineered to achieve high response,wide detection range,fast response,and recovery *** the condition of relative humidity ranging from 13 to 98%,the COFTAPB-DHTA film-based humidity sensor exhibits outstanding humidity sensing perfor-mance with an expanded response value of 390 ***,the response values of the COF film-based sensor are highly linear to the relative humidity in the range below 60%,reflecting a quantitative sensing mechanism at the molecular *** on the dual-site adsorption of the(-C=N-)and(C-N)stretching vibrations,the revers-ible tautomerism induced by hydrogen bonding with water molecules is demonstrated to be the main intrinsic mechanism for this effective humidity *** addition,the synthesized COF films can be further exploited to effectively detect human nasal and oral breathing as well as fabric permeability,which will inspire novel designs for effective humidity-detection devices.

Effect of aggressive pH media on peat treated by cement and sodium silicate grout

The effects of aggressive peat nature (pH) on the strength of peat treated by cement and cement-sodium silicate grout were investigated by evaluating the changes in unconfined compressive strength,moisture content,and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of samples with time in different pH *** results indicate that peats treated by cement-silicate have higher strength than peats treated by cement,due to an increase in pH value of the ***,cement and cement-silicate are highly effective in reducing the moisture content and void ratio of the treated *** microstructures of treated peats support the laboratory test results.

A New Tuning Method for Two-Degree-of-Freedom Internal Model Control under Parametric Uncertainty

Internal model control （IMC） yields very good performance for set point tracking, but gives sluggish response for disturbance rejection problem. A two-degree-of-freedom IMC （2DOF-IMC） has been developed to overcome the weakness. However, the setting of parameter becomes a complicated matter if there is an uncertainty model. The present study proposes a new tuning method for the controller. The proposed tuning method consists of three steps. Firstly, the worst case of the model uncertainty is determined. Secondly, the parameter of set point con- troller using maximum peak （Mp） criteria is specified, and finally, the parameter of the disturbance rejection con- troller using gain margin （GM） criteria is obtained. The proposed method is denoted as Mp-GM tuning method. The effectiveness of Mp-GM tuning method has evaluated and compared with IMC-controller tuning program （IMCTUNE） as bench mark. The evaluation and comparison have been done through the simulation on a number of first order plus dead time （FOPDT） and higher order processes. The FOPDT process tested includes processes with controllability ratio in the range 0.7 to 2.5. The higher processes include second order with underdarnped and third order with nonminimum phase processes. Although the two of higher order processes are considered as difficult processes, the proposed Mp-GM tuning method are able to obtain the good controller parameter even under process uncertainties.

The endangered Asian tapir(Tapirus indicus)is threatened by large-scale habitat loss,forest fragmentation and increased hunting *** planning for this species,however,is hampered by a severe paucity of information on its ecology and population *** present the first Asian tapir population density estimate from a camera trapping study targeting tigers in a selectively logged forest within Peninsular Malaysia using a spatially explicit capture-recapture maximum likelihood based *** a trap effort of 2496 nights,17 individuals were identified corresponding to a density(standard error)estimate of 9.49(2.55)adult ta-pirs/100 *** our results include several caveats,we believe that our density estimate still serves as an important baseline to facilitate the monitoring of tapir population trends in Peninsular *** study also highlights the potential of extracting vital ecological and population information for other cryptic individual-ly identifiable animals from tiger-centric studies,especially with the use of a spatially explicit capture-recapture maximum likelihood based framework.

Perspectives of the early scholars of Islamic management of an account concurred that the arrangement of organization partnership in general and Murabah （benefit sharing） specifically is the fundamental technique on which Islamic banks must depend on contributing their money to related assets. Also, the research has found that financing under the Islamic management of an account has decreased intensely from the methodology created by the early scholars. In reality, these banks have received obligation based on financing techniques and underestimated the routines for financing taking into account benefit and loss sharing. This adjustment in financing technique has perversely influenced the bad name and the desire tied with the monetary part of these banks. The study focused on the reason behind the gap between theory and practice in Islamic finance. So, the study was divided in two parts： the first theoretical part of Islamic economy and Islamic banking system, the second practical part by analysing and evaluating the relative distribution of Islamic financing methods in four famous Islamic banks. The study selected a group of Asian Islamic banks as a model for analysis and evaluation through the period from 2012 to 2014. The study concluded that the gaps result from the misuse of the roles and norms of Maqasid Al-Shariah along with the diversion in the relatively allocation of the financing methods toward debt instruments rather than equity instnunents.

Accuracy of Helicobacter pylori stool antigen for the detection of Helicobacter py/ori infection in dyspeptic patients

AIM: The premier platinum Helicobacter pylon (Hpylori) stool antigen (HpSA) test is an enzyme immunoassay (EIA) that detects an Hpyloriantigen present in human stools. However, at present there is no uniformity about the cut off level required to consider the test as positive or negative. So we need the cut off level for our local population. The aim of this study was to evaluate the HpSA for the detection of H pylori infection in dyspeptic patients and to determine the sensitivity, specificity of the HpSA test in the diagnosis of H pylori infection, as compared to other standardized diagnostic techniques. METHODS: Sixty-three dyspeptic patients were selected from patients who came to the Division of Gastrointestinal Clinic in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Jakarta, Indonesia. H pylori infection was confirmed in all patients by histology and rapid urease test (CLO test). Positive results for H pylori were based on positive results from both rapid urea test and microscopic detection of H pylori. Stool specimens were analyzed for H pylori antigen using HpSA immunoassay. RESULTS: A total 63 patients consisted of 31 (49.2%) males and 32 (50.8%) females ranging in ages between 16 and 73 years with a mean age of 42.4±15 years. The mean age of men was 43.2±15.7 years and women was 41.6±14.4 years. Endoscopic findings in this study included gastric cancer 1.6%, peptic ulcer 4.8%, duodenal ulcer 7.9%, esophagitis 6.3%, gastritis 77.7%, and gastroduodenitis 4.8%. According to the predefined study criteria, 6 (9.5%) of 63 patients were positive for H pylori. In the diagnosis of infection, the area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve for the HpSA test was 0.722 (95% CI, 0.518-0.927). Using a cut-off value of 0.274 instead of 0.16 (as recommended by the manufacturer) the sensitivity and the specificity were 66.7% and 78.9% respectively. CONCLUSION: The HpSA stool test, using a cut-off value of 0.274, may be useful for the primary diagnosis of H pylori infection
