An Efficient Acceleration of Solving Heat and Mass Transfer Equations with the Second Kind Boundary Conditions in Capillary Porous Composite Cylinder Using Programmable Graphics Hardware

With the recent developments in computing technology, increased efforts have gone into simulation of various scientific methods and phenomenon in engineering fields. One such case is the simulation of heat and mass transfer in capillary porous media, which is becoming more and more important in analysing various scenarios in engineering applications. Analysing such heat and mass transfer phenomenon in a given environment requires us to simulate it. This entails simulation of coupled heat mass transfer equations. However, this process of numerical solution of heat and mass transfer equations is very much time consuming. Therefore, this paper aims at utilizing one of the acceleration techniques developed in the graphics community that exploits a graphics processing unit (GPU) which is applied to the numerical solutions of heat and mass transfer equations. The nVidia Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) programming model caters a good method of applying parallel computing to program the graphical processing unit. This paper shows a good improvement in the performance while solving the heat and mass transfer equations for capillary porous composite cylinder with the second kind of boundary conditions numerically running on GPU. This heat and mass transfer simulation is implemented using CUDA platform on nVidia Quadro FX 4800 graphics card. Our experimental results depict the drastic performance improvement when GPU is used to perform heat and mass transfer simulation. GPU can significantly accelerate the performance with a maximum observed speedup of more than 7-fold times. Therefore, the GPU is a good approach to accelerate the heat and mass transfer simulation.

Security Threat and Data Consumption as Mojor Nuisance of Social Media on Wi-Fi Network

This research is about the nuisances of social media applications on a Wi-Fi network at a university campus in Ghana. The aim was to access the security risk on the network, the speed of the network, and the data consumption of those platforms on the network. Network Mapper (Nmap Zenmap) Graphical User Interface 7.80 application was used to scan the various social media platforms to identify the protocols, ports, services, etc. to enable in accessing the vulnerability of the network. Data consumption of users’ mobile devices was collected and analyzed. Device Accounting (DA) based on the various social media applications was used. The results of the analysis revealed that the network is prone to attacks due to the nature of the protocols, ports, and services on social media applications. The numerous users with average monthly data consumption per user of 4 gigabytes, 300 megabytes on social media alone are a clear indication of high traffic as well as the cost of maintaining the network. A URL filtering of the social media websites was proposed on Rockus Outdoor AP to help curb the nuisance.

Effect of Different Etching Time on Fabrication of an Optoelectronic Device Based on GaN/Psi

Gallium nitride(GaN)/porous silicon(PSi)film was prepared using a pulsed laser deposition method and 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser for optoelectronic applications and a series of Psi substrates were fabricated using a photoelectrochemical etching method assisted by laser at different etching times for 2.5–15 min at 2.5 min intervals.X-ray diffraction,room-temperature photoluminescence,atomic force microscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy images,and electrical characteristics in the prepared GaN on the Psi film were *** optimum Psi substrate was obtained under the following conditions:10 min,10 mA/cm^(2),and 24%hydrofluoric *** substrate exhibited two highly cubic crystalline structures at(200)and(400)orientations and yellow visible band photoluminescence,and homogeneous pores formed over the entire *** pores had steep oval shapes and were accompanied by small dark pores that appeared topographically and *** GaN/Psi film fabricated through PLD exhibited a high and hexagonal crystallographic texture in the(002)*** properties results revealed that the photoluminescence emission of the deposited nano-GaN films was in the ultraviolet band(374 nm)related to GaN material and in the near-infrared band(730 nm)related to the Psi *** topographical and morphological results of the GaN films confirmed that the deposited film contained spherical grains with an average diameter of 51.8 nm and surface roughness of 4.8 *** GaN/Psi surface showed a cauliflower-like morphology,and the built-in voltage decreased from 3.4 to 2.7 eV after *** fabricated GaN/Psi film exhibited good electrical characteristics.

研究目标:本片论文意在研究动力髋螺钉用于转子间骨折手术治疗的有效性,同时也为了跟踪采访做过此项手术病人的情况,记录他们的功能恢复和髋关节活动情况。研究方法:本次研究的对象为在2015年6月到2016年7月的一年零一个月的时间里,在Osmania General Hospital接受动力髋螺钉手术治疗的转子骨折的患者。为了更好地评估实验结果,我们对30名接受动力髋螺钉手术治疗的转子骨折患者进行了跟踪采访。只有定期做出回馈的患者才被选为研究对象。此次研究对调查结果进行了记录和讨论。调查采访的平均时长为6.64个月。最短时长为5个月,最长为1?年。患者年龄在20岁到77岁之间,平均年龄为55.56岁。40%的患者年龄在50岁以下。男性患者数量多于女性患者（19:6）。右侧转子骨折的数量大于左侧转子骨折的数量（14:11）。研究结果:在全部的25名患者中,5名（20%）患者的手术结果极好。这5名患者中,4名患有I型转子骨折,另外一名患者患有II型转子骨折。有15名（60%）患者的手术结果良好。只有两个案例中患者出现了10度的髋内翻现象。在15名手术结果良好的患者中,3名患者患有I型转子骨折,7名患有II型转子骨折,4名患有IV型转子骨折。有4名患者的结果一般。这4名患者中,一名患有II型转子骨折,一名患有III型转子骨折,另外两名患有IV型转子骨折。有一名患者的手术结果并不理想。所有I型转子骨折的案例都获得了极好或者良好的手术结果。80%的II型转子骨折手术获得了极好或良好的手术结果。50%的III型转子间骨折手术和57%IV型转子骨折手术结果为良好。在接受手术的25名患者中,2名（8%）患者出现了髋外翻的情况。其中,一名患者在手术植入失败后出现了髋外翻的情况。此次研究中髋外翻的发生率与其他研究的结果相近（Hornby和Grimley Evans的研究数据为8.57%）。25名患者中,6名出现了大于1/2英寸的缩短。这项结果数据高于其他研究所得结果。此次研究中出现了两个手术植入失败案例。结论:本次研究结果令人满意且十分乐观。通过对结果数据的分析,在动力髋螺钉在转子间骨折手术中的应用上,我们得到如下结果。此项技术对医生的手术经验要求不高。手术过程较简单,水平一般的外科医生就可以完成此项手术操作。这项装置可以促进骨折部位的嵌入,并且提供坚硬的内部固定支撑。有了此项装置,骨折部位可以发生controlled collapse且能不影响颈干脚。所以,这项手术并不改变髋部的生物力学性能。因此,髋外翻的发生几率就小了。由于所用螺钉采用的创新的短螺纹设计,在骨质疏松部位固定效果也会很好。由于骨折部位的磨损和collapse而产生螺钉穿入股骨头现象的发生率也会降低,这是由于所用螺钉的圆形顶部设计和privision of telescopy所造成的。接受此种手术的病人,恢复得快并且髋部活动不会伴随有疼痛感。患者多数为年轻男性,所以解剖复位变得十分重要。

Cerebral intracranial aneurysms are serious problems that can lead to stroke,coma,and even *** effect of blood flow on cerebral aneurysms and their relationship with rupture are *** addition,postural changes and their relevance to haemodynamics of blood flow are difficult to measure in vivo using clinical imaging *** simulations investigating the detailed haemodynamics in cerebral aneurysms have been developed in recent times not only to understand the progression and rupture but also for clinical evaluation and *** the present study,the haemodynamics of a patient-specific case of a large aneurysm on the left side internal carotid bifurcation(LICA)and no aneurysm on the right side internal carotid bifurcation(RICA)was *** simulation of these patient-specific models using fluid–structure interaction provides a valuable comparison of flow behavior between normal and aneurysm *** influences of postural changes were investigated during standing,sleeping,and head-down(HD)*** changes in flow were observed during the HD position and quit high arterial blood pressure in the internal carotid artery(ICA)aneurysm model was established when compared to the normal ICA *** velocity increased abruptly during the HD position by more than four times(LICA and RICA)and wall shear stress by four times(LICA)to ten times(RICA).The complex spiral flow and higher pressures prevailing within the dome increase the risk of aneurysm rupture.

In the deregulated economy, the maximum load forecasting is important for the electric industry. Many applications are included such as the energy generation and purchasing. The aim of the present study is to find the most suitable models for the peak load of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Many mathematical methods have been developing for maximum load forecasting. In the present paper, the modeling of the maximum load, population and GDP （gross domestic product） versus years obtained. The curve fitting technique used to find that models, where Graph 4.4.2 as a tool used to find the models. As well, Neuro-Fuzzy used to find the three models. Therefore, three techniques are used. These three are exponential, linear modeling and Neuro-Fuzzy. It is found that, the Neuro-Fuzzy is the most suitable and realistic one. Then, the linear modeling is the next suitable one.

Salinity Intrusion in Interior Coast of Bangladesh: Challenges to Agriculture in South-Central Coastal Zone

This paper investigates the impacts of salinity on crop agriculture in south-central coastal zone of Bangladesh, more particularly interior coast. The coastal areas of Bangladesh, with near flat topography and location at the tip of “funnel shaped” Bay of Bengal, are susceptible to a number of natural hazards such as cyclones, tidal surges, salinity intrusion, riverbank erosion, and shoreline recession. The coastal zone of Bangladesh, especially exposed coast has come into focus in a number of policy and academic studies for salinity intrusion, but with the accelerated impacts of climate change salinity extends from the exposed to the interior coast hampering crop production. To investigate extent of salinity level in interior coast and its impact on crop agriculture, this study tested irrigation water collected in between October and December 2011 from the lower Meghna at Gosairhat upazila in Shariatpur district and interviewed experts and local farmers. This study estimated that salinity concentration of surface water was 1.3 dS/m which was 0.8 dS/m higher than the earlier estimation by ICZMP (Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan) in 2003. The test further revealed that Chloride ion concentration in irrigation water was 500 ppm, pH level was 7.99 and concentration of Carbonate ion was 221 ppm, which were much higher than the desired level. Estimated salinity concentration has already put a threat to the crop production and a significant yield loss has already been noticed in dry season. In the changing scenario of sea level rise, it has been predicted that the increasing concentration of salinity would create more pressure to the farmer by reducing yield on one hand and threatening livelihood, income generation and food security on the other hand. Therefore, to reduce the future loss and prevent the present loss, the study recommends leaching and selecting salinity tolerant crop varieties as adaptation techniques.

Currently,distracted driving is among the most important causes of traffic ***,intelligent vehicle driving systems have become increasingly ***,interest in driver-assistance systems that detect driver actions and help them drive safely has *** these studies,although some distinct data types,such as the physical conditions of the driver,audio and visual features,and vehicle information,are used,the primary data source is images of the driver that include the face,arms,and hands taken with a camera inside the *** this study,an architecture based on a convolution neural network(CNN)is proposed to classify and detect driver *** efficient CNN with high accuracy is implemented,and to implement intense convolutional networks for large-scale image recognition,a new architecture was proposed based on the available Visual Geometry Group(VGG-16)*** proposed architecture was evaluated using the StateFarm dataset for driver-distraction *** dataset is publicly available on Kaggle and is frequently used for this type of *** proposed architecture achieved 96.95%accuracy.
