New fluorine substituted 6-(5’-fluoro-2’-triphenylphosphiniminophenyl) 3-thioxo-1,2,4-triazin-5 (2H, 4H) one (2) was obtained via Wittig’s reaction of the corresponding 6-(5’-fluoro-2’-amino-phenyl)-3-thioxo-1,2,4-triazinone (1). Behavior of compound 2 towards alkylating agents and/or oxidizing agents was studied were, N-hydroxyl (3), Mannich base (4,5), S-alkyl (6,7,8) and thiazolo [3,2-b][1,2,4] triazinones (10-14) and or 3-disulfide (18), 3-sulfonic acid 19 and 1,2,4-triazin-3,5-Dionne (20) derivatives obtained. Structures of the new products are established by elemental and spectral data. The new targets obtained screened as Molluscicidalagents against Biomophlaria Alexandrina snails responsible for Bilharziasis diseases, in compare with Baylucide as standard drug.

Background:Skin and soft tissue infections are *** and Aspergillosis are the most common cutaneous fungal *** alum(Aluminium Potassium Sulphate)is a natural mineral with antifungal and antibacterial ***:This study aimed to confirm Yemeni alum’s antifungal effectiveness against selected fungal strains and develop useful topical ***:Using different alum concentrations,we prepared twenty-three formulations,including four non-adjusted aqueous solutions,eight adjusted pH aqueous solutions,eight glycerite solutions,and three Oil/Water cream ***,we examined the antifungal activity against the suggested *** animal skin irritation test evaluated the local skin sensitivity reactions that might happen upon using the formulations we pre-pared on the intact animal’s ***,this study also included six weeks of stability testing to estimate the expected shelf life(t90)of the selected ***:Alum exerted antifungal effect against Candida albicans,Aspergillus niger,and Aspergillus *** animal’s skin was not irritated by any of the formulations *** 5%alum aqueous solution and the 10%alum Oil/Water cream exhibited promising results among all tested *** approximate formulation’s shelf-lives(t90)were 2 and 1.52 years with alum content(%)ranging between 105.75%to 106.02%,***:Based on the results we found,10%alum Oil/Water cream is a promising formulation for large-scale manufacture.

Background: Meconium stained amniotic fluid (MSAF), especially observed before term, is considered a sign of fetal jeopardy. Although many studies characterized this condition and associated it with delivery mode, data is lacking in this area, Saudi Arabia. Thus, we attempted to study it. Methods: All data were retrieved from pregnant patients with MSAF who delivered at King Abdul, Saudi Arabia, from January 2015 to December 2018. Results: 758 showed MSAF, of which 83% had vaginal delivery, whereas remaining 17% had an emergency caesarean section. Of them, 32 (4.2%) infants developed meconium aspiration syndrome, and 7 (21.8%) were admitted to the NICU. Conclusion: It was reconfirmed that MSAF is associated with a newborn risk, especially meconium aspiration syndrome. Patients had a higher rate for emergent caesarean section and baby admission to NICU. These data may be useful to make health/reproductive-health poly-making in this area.

Indoor radon concentration was measured in Najran region in the south west of Saudi Arabia using CR-39 based radon monitors. The objective of this work, which is the first of its kind in the region, is to get a representative data of radon in four villages, Fara Al-Jabal (1900 m above sea level) and Badr Al-Janoob (2,065 m above sea level), Hadadh (1740 m above sea level) and Al-Khanig (1600 m above sea level) during winter time. Indoor radon concentrations ranged from 9 to 163 Bq·m-3 with an average of 49±14 Bq·m-3. It was also found that the average radon concentration is independent of altitude. The average radon concentrations in soil were also measured at a depth of 50 cm and found to be 1439±207 Bq·m-3 and 2909±421 Bq·m-3 in Fara Al-Jabal and Hadadah respectively. It appears that the houses are well insulated from radon in soil, where there is a potential danger of radon from soil in these villages.

AIM: To assess the prevalence of nutritional disorders in children with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) in Saudi ***: The data from a national cohort of children newly diagnosed with IBD between 2003 and 2012 were analyzed. The diagnosis of IBD and the differentiation between Crohn's disease(CD) and ulcerative colitis(UC) were confirmed by gastroenterologists according to the standard criteria. The body mass index(BMI) of each child [weight(kg)/height^2(m)] was calculated at the time of diagnosis. The World Health Organization standards and references were used and the BMI for age > +1 and <-2 standard deviation score were used to define overweight and thinness, respectively. Age stratification analysis was performed to investigate any age-related variation in the prevalence of nutritional status between children < 10 years of age and ***: There were 374 children from 0.33 to 17 years of age, including 119(32%) children with UC and 255(68%) with CD. All of the children were Saudi nationals, and 68(57%) of the UC and 150(59%) of the CD children were males. A positive history of anorexia at the time of diagnosis was found in 30(25%) patients with UC and 99(39%) patients with CD. The prevalence of thinness was 31%, 35% and 24% in children with IBD, CD and UC, respectively, with a significantly higher prevalence of thinness in children with CD than in children with UC(P = 0.037) only in the age group of 10-17 years(P = 0.030). The prevalence of overweight was 16 %, 15% and 20 % in the children with IBD, CD and UC, respectively, indicating a higher prevalence in UC that was statistically significant only in the age group of 10-17 years(P = 0.020). CONCLUSION: A high proportion of children with IBD presented with overweight instead of the classical underweight. Awareness of this finding is important for patient care.

AIM To assess the association of inter-ethnic vs intra-ethnic marriage with severity of coronary artery disease(CAD) in men undergoing *** We conducted a prospective multicenter,multi-ethnic,cross sectional observational study at five hospitals in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates,in which we used logistic regression analysis with and without adjustment for baseline differences. RESULTS Data were collected for 1068 enrolled patients undergoing coronary angiography for clinical indications during the period of April 1^(st),2013 to March 30^(th),2014. Ethnicities of spouses were available only for male patients. Of those enrolled,687 were married men and constituted the cohort for the present analysis. Intra-ethnic marriages were reported in 70% and inter-ethnic marriages in 30%. After adjusting for baseline differences,interethnic marriage was associated with lower odds of having significant CAD [adjusted odds ratio 0.52(95%CI:0.33,0.81)] or multi-vessel disease(MVD) [adjusted odds ratio 0.57(95%CI:0.37,0.86)]. The adjusted association with left main disease showed a similar trend,but was not statistically significant [adjusted odds ratio 0.74(95%CI:0.41,1.32)]. The association between interethnic marriage and the presence of significant CAD and MVD was not modified by number of concurrent wives(P interaction > 0.05 for both).CONCLUSION Among married men undergoing coronary angiography,inter-ethnic,as compared to intra-ethnic,marriage is associated with lower odds of significant CAD and MVD.
