Secure Transmission of Compressed Medical Image Sequences on Communication Networks Using Motion Vector Watermarking

Medical imaging plays a key role within modern hospital management systems for diagnostic *** methodologies are extensively employed to mitigate storage demands and enhance transmission speed,all while upholding image ***,an increasing number of hospitals are embracing cloud computing for patient data storage,necessitating meticulous scrutiny of server security and privacy ***,considering the widespread availability of multimedia tools,the preservation of digital data integrity surpasses the significance of compression *** response to this concern,we propose a secure storage and transmission solution for compressed medical image sequences,such as ultrasound images,utilizing a motion vector watermarking *** watermark is generated employing an error-correcting code known as Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem(BCH)and is subsequently embedded into the compressed sequence via block-based motion *** the process of watermark embedding,motion vectors are selected based on their magnitude and phase *** embedding watermarks,no specific spatial area,such as a region of interest(ROI),is used in the *** embedding of watermark bits is dependent on motion *** reversible watermarking allows the restoration of the original image sequences,we use the irreversible watermarking *** reason for this is that the use of reversible watermarks may impede the claims of ownership and legal *** restoration of original data or images may call into question ownership or other legal *** peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR)and structural similarity index(SSIM)serve as metrics for evaluating the watermarked image *** all images,the PSNR value exceeds 46 dB,and the SSIM value exceeds *** results substantiate the efficacy of the proposed technique in preserving data integrity.

Graphene oxide-coated microbottle resonators for relative humidity sensing

Graphene oxide(GO) is a 2D coating material used to improve fiber optics sensors' response to relative humidity. Microbottle resonators(MBRs) have garnered more attention as sensing media structures. An MBR with a 190 μm diameter was coated with GO. Then, tapered fiber light coupling was used to investigate the relative humidity sensing performance in the range of 35—70%RH at 25 °C. The MBR showed a higher Q factor before and after GO coating. The sensitivity of 0.115 d B/%RH was recorded with the 190 μm GO-coated MBR sample compared to a sensitivity of 0.022 d B/%RH for the uncoated MBR sample. These results show that the MBR can be used in fiber optic sensing applications for environmental sensing.

Rates, predictors, and causes of readmission after transcatheter aortic valve replacement in patients with chronic kidney disease

BACKGROUND Transcatheter aortic valve replacement(TAVR)is a revolutionary procedure for severe aortic *** coexistence of chronic kidney disease(CKD)and TAVR introduces a challenge that significantly impacts patient *** To define readmission rates,predictors,and causes after TAVR procedure in CKD stage 1-4 *** We used the national readmission database 2018 and 2020 to look into readmission rates,causes and predictors after TAVR procedure in patients with CKD stage *** Out of 24758 who underwent TAVR and had CKD,7892(32.4%)patients were readmitted within 90 days,and had higher adjusted odds of being females(adjusted odds ratio:1.17,95%CI:1.02-1.31,P=0.02)with longer length of hospital stay>6 days,and more comorbidities including but not limited to diabetes mellitus,anemia,and congestive heart failure(CHF).CONCLUSION Most common causes of readmission included CHF(18.0%),sepsis,and complete atrioventricular *** readmission predictors with very close followup is warranted to prevent such high rate of readmission.

Groundwater Exploration Using 2-D Geoelectrical Resistivity Imaging Technique at Sungai. Udang, Melaka

Electrical resistivity imaging surveys have been conducted in order to locate, delineate subsurface water resource and estimate its reserve. The resistivity imaging surveys carried out basically measure and map the resistivity of subsurface materials. Electrical imaging is an appropriate survey technique for areas with complex geology where the use of resistivity sounding and other techniques are unsuitable to provide detailed subsurface information. The purpose of electrical surveys is to determine the subsurface resistivity distribution by making measurements on the ground surface. The resistivity imaging measurement employing Wenner electrode configuration was carried out using an ABEM SAS 1000 terrameter and electrode selector system ES464. The field survey was conducted along four profiles which provide a continuous coverage of the resistivity imaging below surface. The surface soil material is mainly clayey silt. The results showed that the layers associated with the low resistivities (?·m) are located at depth ranging from 2 m to 28 m. This low resistivity values are associated with zone of water saturated weathered layer and fractures. The results showed that the thickness of residual soil is about 0.5-2.55 m. Borehole data indicated that the depth of bedrock is about 10 m and the groundwater level is ranging from 8.73 m to 8.54 m.
