Elm bark beetle Scolytus kashmirensis is a key pest of elm nurseries in the social forestry ecosystem of Kashmir. The biological and morphological characters of this species were determined both in field and in the laboratory. The larvae remained inactive throughout the winter which resumed their activity from the third week of March. Pupation started from the first week of April and the first swarming adults appeared from the last week of April. After emergence, the adults fly to suitable trees and undergo maturation feeding for 8.4 (±0.68 SD) days and females laid 46 (±9.45 SD) eggs on an average. The eggs hatched after an incubation period of 11 - 13 days. The five larval instars were distinguished from each other on the basis of the width of head capsule measurements. The larvae completed their development in 40 - 46 days. The pupal stage lasted for 10 - 20 days and finally adults emerge that lived for 45 - 60 days. The single longitudinal maternal gallery measured 42.67 (±11.07 SD) mm (on average) long and the larval gallery was 43 (±10.96 SD) mm (on average) in length. The seasonal distribution of various life stages and the number of generations were also recorded.

In this study,we developed multiple hybrid machine-learning models to address parameter optimization limitations and enhance the spatial prediction of landslide susceptibility *** created a geographic information system database,and our analysis results were used to prepare a landslide inventory map containing 359 landslide events identified from Google Earth,aerial photographs,and other validated sources.A support vector regression(SVR)machine-learning model was used to divide the landslide inventory into training(70%)and testing(30%)*** landslide susceptibility map was produced using 14 causative *** applied the established gray wolf optimization(GWO)algorithm,bat algorithm(BA),and cuckoo optimization algorithm(COA)to fine-tune the parameters of the SVR model to improve its predictive *** resultant hybrid models,SVR-GWO,SVR-BA,and SVR-COA,were validated in terms of the area under curve(AUC)and root mean square error(RMSE).The AUC values for the SVR-GWO(0.733),SVR-BA(0.724),and SVR-COA(0.738)models indicate their good prediction rates for landslide susceptibility ***-COA had the greatest accuracy,with an RMSE of 0.21687,and SVR-BA had the least accuracy,with an RMSE of *** three optimized hybrid models outperformed the SVR model(AUC=0.704,RMSE=0.26689),confirming the ability of metaheuristic algorithms to improve model performance.

The utilization of urea in camels has beneficial and negative effects. The aims of this study were to investigate the effects of different levels of urea supplementation on nutrients intake, digestibility,growth performance, feed efficiency and economics in growing camels fed roughage based complete pellet diets. In the present study, eighteen growing camels with an average live body weight of306.17 ± 2.05 kg were randomly assigned in three treatments: T1 = roughage complete pellet diet without urea,T2 = T1 plus 1% urea,and T3 = T1 plus 2% urea. The results showed that the urea supplementation significantly affected average daily feed and nutrient intake of dry matter(DM), organic matter(OM), crude protein(CP), neutral detergent fiber(NDF), and acid detergent fiber(ADF)(P 0.05). Similarly, digestion coefficient of DM, CP, ether extract(EE),crude fiber(CF) and ADF was influenced by increasing urea level(P 0.05). The intake of digestive nutrients was similar among all treatment groups. Total body live weight gain and average daily gain were significantly higher in urea supplemented groups(P < 0.05) than in the control group. The supplementation of urea at 1% in low quality roughage complete pellet diets significantly improved(P < 0.05) the feed efficiency. In conclusion,these results indicated that the incorporation of urea at 1% in roughage based complete pellet diets could positively improve nutrients intake, digestibility, growth performance and feed conversion efficiency of growing camels.

肝细胞癌(HCC)的进展的主要风险因素是慢性乙型肝炎病毒(HBV)感染与全球超过3.5亿人为慢性HBV感染者。但是,依然不明确HCC究竟是臭名昭著的HBV直接诱导肝细胞癌或仅间接通过慢性肝炎的刺激。急性HBV感染可能会导致不精确的迹象,如乏力,食欲不振,恶心,呕吐,腹痛,低烧,黄疸,尿色加深;和临床症状,如肝脾肿大。不超过5%感染急性乙型肝炎病毒延伸至慢性感染的成年人。乙肝病毒感染可以通过患者的血液检查来诊断。治愈慢性乙肝病毒感染的核心在于减轻肝脏炎症和降低病毒复制,以避免出现问题。慢性乙肝病毒感染者应检查肝酶试验和乙肝病毒DNA活动水平;结合考虑肝活检;并观察对肝癌进展的影响。肝移植是对急性或慢性肝病发展至肝衰竭,和／或乙肝病毒感染至肝癌患者的先进治疗手段。对大多数患者而言,抗病毒药物的进步使得预防性治疗能有效阻止临床上移植物再感染。移植物和患者生存率已经在过去的10年大幅度提高,对由乙肝病毒感染继而进展至大多数其他适应症,现在肝移植取得了更大的好结果。特别是,阿德福韦和拉米夫定的辅助功能已经改变了结局。

Assessment of Knowledge and Attitude in a Sample of Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Its Association with Disease Activity and Severity: A Cross-Sectional Study

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic and disabling disease that has a major impact on the lives of patients. Objectives: To test the patients’ knowledge about their disease, its treatment, its complications, and if this affects severity of the disease as measured by the disease activity index (DAS 28). Patients and Methods: A sample of 100 patients with RA who met the Criteria of American College of Rheumatology for RA agreed to participate in this study over the period September 2011-March 2012. Patients’ data were obtained by personal interview. The questionnaire included demographic characteristics and the patients’ knowledge about their disease. The disease activity was measured using standard (DAS28). Results: Thirty three percent of the patients didn’t have an idea about their disease, 20% didn’t know the reason for the investigations, 49% didn’t know the treatment and 40% didn’t know the side effects of their medications. Most patients had a high disease activity index, and there was a poor correlation between patients’ educational level and the disease activity. Conclusions: Neither the educational level nor the frequency of hospital admissions had effects on the knowledge about this disease. As most patients had a high disease activity, a better knowledge may improve disease control and prevent complications.

Dermatophytes were earlier reported to respond well to anti-fungal agents;however, an upsurge in resistance with the high cost of these agents increased the use of medicinal plants for treatment. This study investigated the sensitivity pattern of dermatophytes to oral anti-fungal drugs and aqueous leaf extract of the plant, Acacia nilotica. The extract was tested against seven strains of dermatophytes Arthroderma otae, Trichophyton interdigitale, Trichophyton mentagrophyte, Microsporum ferrugineum, Arthroderma vespertilii, Arthroderma quadrifidum, and Arthroderma multifidum, previously isolated from diabetic patients. The minimum inhibitory and fungicidal concentrations of the plant extracts and the standard antifungal agents were evaluated using modifications of the broth macro dilution method of the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards M38-A2 protocol. There was a significant difference in the Minimum Inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of the dermatophytes to the three antifungal drugs tested (p Acacia nilotica had an inhibitory effect on all the dermatophytes tested, and showed anti-fungal activity in a dose-dependent relationship between 0.625 - 1.25 mg/ml. Though the inhibitions of the dermatophytes were significantly higher with the standard anti-fungal drugs as compared to the plant extract (p Arthroderma quadrifidum, which was resistant to all the anti-fungal drugs, had the highest inhibition with A. nilotica. Some circulating dermatophyte strains in Nigeria are griseofulvin and/or itraconazole resistant which may influence the spread of infection and A. nilotica aqueous leaf extract showed a strong anti-dermatophytic activity.

In this paper,we investigate the optical properties of a non-rotating charged black hole(BH)in the Einstein-Maxwell-scalar(EMS)theory,together with a plasma *** first consider the photon sphere and shadow radius under the impact of the plasma medium existing in the environment surrounding the BH in the EMS *** show that the radius of the photon sphere and the BH shadow decrease under the influence of the parameterβ.We further study gravitational weak lensing in detail by adapting general methods and derive the light ray's deflection angle around the BH together with the plasma *** is found that for uniform plasma,the deflection angle increases with the rise of the plasma parameter,whereas it decreases with the increase of the plasma parameter for non-uniform ***,we also study the magnification of image brightness.
