The Near-Surface Mounted(NSM)strengthening technique has emerged as a promising alternative to traditional strengthening methods in recent *** the past two decades,researchers have extensively studied its potential,advantages,and applications,as well as related parameters,aiming at optimization of construction ***,there is still a need to explore further,both from a static perspective,which involves accounting for the nonconservation of the contact section resulting from the bond-slip effect between fiber-reinforced polymer(FRP)rods and resin and is typically neglected by existing analytical models,as well as from a dynamic standpoint,which involves studying the trends of vibration frequencies to understand the effects of various forms of damage and the efficiency of *** address this gap in knowledge,this research involves static and dynamic tests on simply supported reinforced concrete(RC)beams using rods of NSM carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP)and glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP).The main objective is to examine the effects of various strengthening *** research conducts bending tests with loading cycles until failure,and it helps to define the behavior of beam specimens under various damage degrees,including concrete *** analysis by free vibration testing enables tracking of the effectiveness of the reinforcement at various damage levels at each stage of the loading *** addition,application of Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)and Genetic Algorithm(GA)is proposed to optimize Gradient Boosting(GB)training performance for concrete strain prediction in NSM-FRP *** GB using Particle Swarm Optimization(GBPSO)and GB using Genetic Algorithm(GBGA)systems were trained using an experimental data set,where the input data was a static applied load and the output data was the consequent *** models of GBPSO and GBGA have been shown to provide highly accurate results for predicting *** model

Vibration-based crack prediction on a beam model using hybrid butterfly optimization algorithm with artificial neural network

Vibration-based damage detection methods have become widely used because of their advantages over traditional *** paper presents a new approach to identify the crack depth in steel beam structures based on vibration analysis using the Finite Element Method(FEM)and Artificial Neural Network(ANN)combined with Butterfly Optimization Algorithm(BOA).ANN is quite successful in such identification issues,but it has some limitations,such as reduction of error after system training is complete,which means the output does not provide optimal *** paper improves ANN training after introducing BOA as a hybrid model(BOA-ANN).Natural frequencies are used as input parameters and crack depth as *** data are collected from improved FEM using simulation tools(ABAQUS)based on different crack depths and locations as the first ***,data are collected from experimental analysis of cracked beams based on different crack depths and locations to test the reliability of the presented *** proposed approach,compared to other methods,can predict crack depth with improved accuracy.

Machine learning-supported seismic stratigraphy of the Paleozoic Nubia Formation(SW Gulf of Suez-rift):Implications for paleoenvironmentpetroleum geology of a lacustrine-fan delta

Steeply dipping prograding fan deltas possess high reservoir quality facies that could be excellent targets while exploring for *** to their complex stacking nature,and limited examples,delineating their architectural elements is still *** this paper we mainly performed sedimentary facies analysis;applying various disciplines *** stratigraphy,seismic stratigraphy,GR-log motifs,and seismic waveform segmentation;so as to adequately depict the reservoir heterogeneity and quality of the Paleozoic Nubia clastics in West Esh El Mallaha Concession(southwest Gulf of Suez rift).Organic maturity prediction,to confirm the hydrocarbon charging from source units to reservoir intervals,was also of most importance in this ***,1D basin model was established to define the past geologic events;subsidence,and thermal maturity;and their controls on sedimentary basin evolution and associated petroleum *** utilized several key-information scales;*** logs,and seismic *** different disciplines applied in this study points to a successful integrated reservoir characterization workflow capable of unfolding ancient environments and the associated hydrocarbon *** results show that Nubia Formation was built during the lowstandtransgressive phase of a 3rd order depositional *** encompasses fluvio-lacustrine system with eight sedimentary facies associations;form source to *** channels and mouth bars,settled in subaerial and subaqueous settings respectively,represent the most significant reservoir facies in the *** best hydrocarbon-reservoir quality,the deltaic mouth bars ought to attract attention of further oilfield development plans and be considered while investigating similar settings.

Petroleum system analysis-conjoined 3D-static reservoir modeling in a 3-way and 4-way dip closure setting: Insights into petroleum geology of fluvio-marine deposits at BED-2 Field (Western Desert, Egypt)

Imperfect determination of petroleum system processes coincidence,entrapment and charge timing,along with reservoir heterogeneity can considerably cause high risks throughout exploration and development phases of ***,a complete subsurface visualization of the petroleum system nature,elements and processes,is badly *** this end,we corroborated,in this study,static reservoir modeling with petroleum system analysis workflows,to better characterize the Cenomanian fluvio-marine reservoir,sandstones of Bahariya Formation,at Bed-2 Field,Abu Gharadig Basin(Western Desert,Egypt).We used dataset of 2D seismic profiles and well logs of eight *** geometry and property of the reservoir were acquired performing static reservoir geocellular modeling *** geohistory,timing of charge,migration pathways,and accumulation sites were identified performing 1D and 2D basin modeling *** both approaches was aimed at identifying new petroleum prospect areas,and estimating the hydrocarbon volumes,that are the need for such poorly-defined petroleum systems *** indicated by the constructed,robust,reservoir and 1D-2D basin models,an additional hydrocarbon prospect,to the north central part of Bed-2 Field,is proposed to be drilled during the further oilfield development phases of the *** prospect has all features that adequately lead to reliable inferences regarding the ultimate petroleum potential of the area.

3D-static reservoir and basin modeling of a lacustrine fan-deltaic system in the Gulf of Suez,Egypt

Lacustrine-fan deltas feature high reservoir-quality lithounits that are critical targets to hydrocarbon exploration and ***,depicting their intricate sedimentary architectural elements is still challenging due to complex stacking-patterns and limited *** this study,both 3D-static geocellular reservoir modeling and 1D-basin modeling approaches were combined as an established effective workflow that is capable of efficiently delineating reservoir-heterogeneities and confirming *** integration was for the purpose of unlocking the ultimate petroleum potential of fluvio-lacustrine units,Nubia Formation,in the southwest of the Gulf of Suez rift(West Esh-ElMallaha Concession,Egypt).Pixel-based stochastic-simulation was applied,constrained by an established depositional-model developed after adequate integrated-facies analysis,upon geocellularly modeling rock and fluid properties of Nubia reservoir intervals;utilizing several key-information scales(seismic-profiles,well-logs).The results reveal a lowstand-transgressive systems tract encompassing fluvio-lacustrine depositional-systems subdivided into eight facies-associations,of which fluvialchannels and deltaic mouth bars represent significant reservoir-quality *** efficient reservoir-quality,mouth sand-bars deserve special consideration,and testing,while running further oilfield development-endeavours and investigating similar-settings.

Estimation of the peak flows in the catchment area of Batna(Algeria)

The limited knowledge of the variations,both spatial and temporal,of the flow patterns at the watershed level invariably leads to poor space management,generating great and often irreversible ***,measuring peak flows appears to be not only important but even *** to the absence of hydrometric stations at the outlet of the sub-basins that are part of comprehensive prevention strategy,and were established because of the high vulnerability of the city of Batna,this study provides a transformation model of rainfall into flows in the Batna *** work aims to model the transformation of rainfall into *** estimate the Q max,two formulas were used,and Turazza's seems to be the most adequate,because it demonstrates a cumulative sub-basins flow close to the result recorded by the only hydrometric station at the outlet of Batna *** this modeling,it is possible to estimate the extreme quantiles with the return periods of 10,20,50 and 100 years for each *** purpose is to help design of hydraulic works and increase the resilience of development projects that might be exposed to floods.
