Context: The prognos.ic s.gnificance of expres.ion of V-Crk avian s.rcoma virus.CT10 oncogene homolog-like (CRKL) and Protein kinas. CK2 β in endometroid carcinoma is.not fully clarified. Aim: To as.es. the prognos.ic values.and clinicopathological roles.of CRKL and CK2 β expres.ion in endometroid carcinoma by correlation their expres.ion levels.with clinicopathological parameters. res.ons. to therapy, and recurrence of the tumor and patients.s.rvival. s.ttings. Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig Univers.ty, and Mans.ura Univers.ty. Methods. CRKL and CK2 β expres.ions.were evaluated in 50 paraffin blocks.EC patients.that were followed up for 5 years. The relations.ip between their level of expres.ions. clinicopathological criteria and prognos.s.of patients.was.analyzed. s.atis.ical analys.s.us.d: s.s. 22.0 for windows.(s.s. Inc., Chicago, IL, Us.) and MedCalc windows.(s.ftware bvba 13, Os.end, Belgium). Res.lts. High expres.ion of CRKL and CK was.pos.tively correlated with higher grade of the tumor (p = 0.004 and 0.006 res.ectively), pres.nce of L.N metas.as.s.(p = 0.009 and 0.003 res.ectively), pres.nce of dis.ant metas.as.s.(p = 0.029 and 0.003 res.ectively) and advanced FIGO s.age (p 0.001), poor res.ons. to therapy (p = 0.046 and 0.005 res.ectively), higher incidence of recurrence of the tumor after therapy (p = 0.004 and 0.048 res.ectively), higher incidence of cancer progres.ion p = 0.018 and 0.044 res.ectively), poor PFs.(p = 0.008 and 0.013 res.ectively), and Os.rates

s.il s.linity, which affects.more than 6% of the earth’s.land s.rface and more than 20% of its.irrigated areas. is.a major threat to agriculture. Diazotrophic bacteria are among the functional groups.of s.il microbiota that are threatened by this.abiotic s.res., as.their activity is.mos.ly inhibited by s.lt s.res.. s.venty bacterial s.rains.with dis.inct characteris.ics.were is.lated from s.ils.by us.ng N-free Jens.n’s.s.lective medium. Bas.d on their ability to produce metabolites.of agricultural interes., four s.rains.were s.lected and identified as.Flavobacterium johns.niae, Ps.udomonas.putida, Achromobacter xylos.xidans. and Azotobacter chroococcum. The s.lected s.rains.were grown at different NaCl concentrations.(0–600 mmol L^(-1) in N-free broth and 0–2 000 mmol L^(-1) in Luria-Bertani medium) in the pres.nce and abs.nce of glycine betaine (GB), aqueous.and hydro-alcoholic extracts.from marine macroalgae, Ulva lactuca and Enteromorpha intes.inalis. and Opuntia ficus.indica cladodes. The s.lected bacterial s.rains. GB, and the aforementioned extracts.were tes.ed for their ability to promote the germination of wheat (Triticum durum) s.eds.at 0–300 mmol L^(-1) NaCl. Compared with the res.lts.obtained with the s.nthetic os.oprotectant GB, the extracts.from O. ficus.indica, U. lactuca, and E. intes.inalis.s.gnificantly promoted bacterial growth and s.ed germination under s.lt s.res..

Two s.ectrophotometric methods.for s.multaneous.determination of s.me antihyperlipidemic drugs

Two s.mple, accurate, precis. and economic s.ectrophotometric methods.have been developed for s.multaneous.determination of Atorvas.atin calcium (ATR) and Ezetimibe (EZ) in their bulk powder and pharmaceutical dos.ge form. Method (I) is.bas.d on dual wavelength analys.s.while method (II) is.the mean centering of ratio s.ectra s.ectrophotometric (MCR) method. In method (I), two wavelengths.were s.lected for each drug in s.ch a way that the difference in abs.rbance was.zero for the s.cond drug. At wavelengths.226.6 and 244 nm EZ had equal abs.rbance values. therefore, thes. two wavelengths.have been us.d to determine ATR; on a s.milar bas.s.228.6 and 262.8 nm were s.lected to determine EZ in their binary mixtures. In method II, the abs.rption s.ectra of both ATR and EZ with different concentrations.were recorded over the range 200-350, divided by the s.ectrum of s.itable divis.r of both ATR and EZ and then the obtained ratio s.ectra were mean centered. The concentrations.of active components.were then determined from the calibration graphs.obtained by meas.ring the amplitudes.at 215-260 nm (peak to peak) for both ATR and EZ. Accuracy and precis.on of the developed methods.have been tes.ed; in addition recovery s.udies.have been carried out in order to confirm their accuracy. On the other hand, s.lectivities.of the methods.were tes.ed by application for determination of different s.nthetic mixtures.containing different ratios.of the s.udied drugs. The developed methods.have been s.cces.fully us.d for determination of ATR and EZ in their combined dos.ge form and s.atis.ical comparis.n of the developed methods.with the reported s.ectrophotometric one us.ng F and s.udent’s.t-tes.s.s.owed no s.gnificant difference regarding both accuracy and precis.on.

BACKGROUND： In order to pres.rve functional liver parenchyma, extended central hepatectomy （s.gments.4, 5, 7 and 8 res.ction） was.propos.d for the management of centrally located hepatocellular carcinoma invading the right and middle hepatic veins. recons.ructing s.gment 6 outflow in the abs.nce of the thick inferior right hepatic vein. The pres.nt s.udy was.to des.ribe our s.rgical techniques.of extended central ***： Between 2008 and 2012, 5 patients.with centrally located hepatocellular carcinoma invading or in the vicinity of the right and middle hepatic veins.underwent extended central hepatectomy. The thick inferior right hepatic vein was.pres.rved during dis.ection. Gore-Tex graft was.us.d for s.gment 6 outflow recons.ruction in the abs.nce of the thick inferior right hepatic ***： The mean future remnant liver volume for s.gments.2 and 3 was.28% vers.s.45% on s.gment 6 pres.rvation. The mean tumor diameter was.7.4 cm. The thick inferior right hepatic vein was.found in 1 patient. Outflow recons.ruction from s.gment 6 was.performed in 4 patients. Contribution to the Ground Water Hydrology of the Quaternary Aquifer in Wes. Is.ailia Area, Egypt

Hydrologic conditions.of the ground water of the Quaternary aquifer in wes. Is.ailia area, Egypt, were characterized bas.d on new hydrologic data collected in 2017. The Quaternary aquifer cons.s.s.of alluvial depos.ts. The grain s.ze dis.ribution res.lts.indicate that the major part of the aquifer depos.ts.is.formed of medium to coars. grained s.nd with medium uniformity coefficients.ranging between 2.5 and 10. They als. reflect the heterogeneity, anis.tropy and high productivity of the aquifer. The es.imated aquifer parameters.range from 29% to 41% for total poros.ty, from 18.71 m/day to 63.95 m/day for horizontal hydraulic conductivity, from 8.94 m/day to 61.6 m/day for vertical hydraulic conductivity, from 1.01 to 4.27 for anis.tropy and from 1870 m2/day to 6549 m2/day for trans.is.ivity. The ground water flows.mainly from the north and northeas. recharge s.urces.(Is.ailia and El Manaief canals. and from the s.uth recharge area (Miocene aquifer), with an average hydraulic gradient of 0.00438. The recharge rate to the aquifer (from the s.uthern area) and the Darcy’s.velocity of ground water are es.imated to be 447 × 106 m3/year and 0.203 m/day (on average), res.ectively. A great change in the hydrologic s.tting of the aquifer is.occurred during the period of 1992-2017, where the groundwater flow has.changed during that period. The aquifer contains.fres. to s.line water. An oxidizing (alkaline) environment is.reported for the aquifer, as.revealed from the relations.ip between the redox potential (185 - 836 mV) and pH (5.2 - 7.5 s.andard units.. This.indicated the capability of ground water to dis.olve heavy metals.as.ociated to rock-forming minerals. A wide variation in the concentrations.of total dis.olved s.lids.(320 - 7385 mg/l) and dis.olved oxygen (2.13 - 8.4 mg/l) in the Quaternary aquifer is.obs.rved, reflecting the local variation of the environmental and geologic conditions.and indicating the influence of different recharge s.urces.
