improvement of (Eruca sativa Mill) yield, oil, chemical constituents and antioxidant activity utilizing a by-product of yeast production (CMS) with zinc and boron under salinity stress conditions

The impact of low-quality irrigation water on plant development has garnered significant attention from researchers. in light of this, two field experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance, yield, oil production and composition, as well as active constituents of Rocket(Eruca sativa Mill) cultivated in calcareous soil under saline water irrigation. Foliar sprays containing condensed molasses soluble(CMS), zinc(Zn), and boron(B) alone or in combination were used for irrigation. The data obtained from measuring various parameters of Rocket following foliar spraying with CMS, Zn, B or their combinations demonstrated that most treatments resulted in a significant increase in these parameters. The highest values for most measurements were observed when foliar application included all three components(CMS + Zn + B), resulting in a seed yield of 184.6 g/m2and an oil content of 675.3 kg/ha. Compared to the control group, the macronutrient content of n, P, K, Mg, and Ca increased by 34.4%, 56%, 42%, 45%, and 39% respectively in the seeds treated with these ***, carbohydrates, proteins, phenolics flavonoids, and antioxidants showed increases of 24%, 34%,21%, 43%, and 28% respectively compared to the control group. Gas-liquid chromatography analysis identified ten components present in the seed oil characterized by higher unsaturated fatty acids ranging from 81.28% to92.28% and lower saturated fatty acids ranging from 6.72% to 8.21%. Therefore, foliar spray application including CMS, zinc, and boron can help alleviate salinity effects on Rocket plants grown under saline water irrigation conditions while improving growth, yield, oil production, and nutritional content such as total carbohydrates, proteins, and macronutrients levels.

A robust single-sensor global maximum power point tracking(MPPT)strategy based on modern optimization for photovoltaic systems considering shading conditions is proposed in this *** proposed strategy is designed for battery charging applications and direct current(DC)*** normal operation,the curve of photovoltaic(PV)output power versus PV voltage contains only a single peak *** point can be simply captured using any traditional tracking method like perturb and ***,this situation is completely different during the shadowing effect where several peaks appear on the power voltage *** of these peaks are local with only a single *** condition leads to the incapability of traditional tracking approaches to extract the global peak power due to their inability to distinguish between the local and global peak *** are trapped in the first peak point even when the point is ***,global tracking approaches based on modern optimization are highly required.A recent marine predators algorithm(MPA)has been used to solve the problem of tracking the global MPP under shadowing *** shadowing scenarios are used to test and evaluate the performance of MPA based *** obtained results are compared with particle swarm optimization(PSO)and ant lion optimizer(ALO).The results of the comparison con-firmed the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed global MPPT-MPA based tracker over PSO and ALO.

Breast cancer is marked by large increases in the protein fibers around tumor *** fibers increase the mechanical stiffness of the tissue,which has long been used for tumor diagnosis by manual *** research in bioengineering has led to the development of novel biomaterials that model the mechanical and architectural properties of the tumor microenvironment and can be used to understand how these cues regulate the growth and spread of breast ***,we provide an overview of how the mechanical properties of breast tumor tissues differ from those of normal breast tissue and noncancerous *** also describe how biomaterial models make it possible to understand how the stiffness and viscosity of the extracellular environment regulate cell migration and breast cancer *** highlight the need for biomaterial models that allow independent analysis of the individual and different mechanical properties of the tumor microenvironment and that use cells derived from different regions within *** models will guide the development of novel mechano-based therapies against breast cancer metastasis.

A reliable approach based on a multi-verse optimization algorithm(MVO)for designing load frequency control incorporated in multi-interconnected power system comprising wind power and photovoltaic(PV)plants is presented in this *** has been applied for optimizing the control parameters of the load frequency controller(LFC)of the multi-source power system(MSPS).The MSPS includes thermal,gas,and hydro power plants for energy ***,the MSPS is integrated with renewable energy sources(RES).The MVO algorithm is applied to acquire the ideal parameters of the controller for controlling a single area and a multi-area MSPS integrated with *** link is utilized in shunt with AC multi-areas interconnection tie *** proposed scheme has achieved robust performance against the disturbance in loading conditions,variation of system parameters,and size of step load perturbation(SLP).Meanwhile,the simulation outcomes showed a good dynamic performance of the proposed controller.

Rice stem borer(Chilo agamemnon Bles.)is a primary insect pest of rice and is a major limiting factor to rice *** for insect-resistant crop varieties has been an economic way of integrated pest management(iPM)as it offers a viable and ecologically acceptable *** study was aimed to evaluate rice genotypes for their resistance against rice stem *** parental genotypes with twenty one F1 crosses were evaluated for genotypic variation in field *** of variance revealed significant differences for the studied traits in almost all crosses and *** addition,the mean squares of parents versus their crosses were signifi-cant for stem borer resistance and other associated ***,both general combining ability(GCA)and specific combining ability(SCA)variances were highly significant for all characters studied in the F1 *** on GCA,4 genotypes(Sakha101,Gz6903-3-4-2-1,Gz9577-4-1-1 and Hassawi)exhibited highly significant negative values for stem borer resistance(–0.53,–1.06,–0.18 and–0.49,respectively)indicating they are the best combiners for stem borer *** on SCA analysis,nine cross combinations showed highly significant negative effects for stem borer ***,the cross Giza178Hassawi was the best combination with significantly highest value for early *** addition,seven crosses showed highly significant negative SCA for plant height *** the other hand,for panicle length,number of primary branches/panicle,panicle weight and 1000-grain weight,seven,four,eight and six crosses showed highly significant positive SCA,*** result further revealed that the non-additive dominance genetic variance was higher than the additive variance for all evaluated traits indicating that non-additive genetic variances have a role in their *** broad-sense heritability estimates were high for all the studied *** stem borer resistance was significantly correl

Appropriate knowledge of the parental cultivars is a pre-requisite for a successful breeding *** study characterized fruit yield,quality attributes,and molecular variations of ten tomato cultivars during three consecutive generations under greenhouse *** 86,Castle Rock,and Red Star cultivars showed the highest fruit yield(kg/plant),total phenolic compounds(TPC),and sap *** component analysis categorized the evaluated fruit yield into three groups based on their quality attributes.A robust positive correlation appeared among traits inside each group.A positive correlation was likewise noticed between the first and the second ***,a negative correlation was detected between the first,the second and the third *** profiling,using seven inter-simple sequence repeat(iSSR)primers,produced 60 loci,including 49 polymorphic *** molecular analysis also pinpointed the highest genetic similarity(0.92)between P73 and Moneymaker,while the lowest genetic similarity(0.46)was observed between Castle Rock and *** cultivars P73 and Moneymaker showed the lowest genetic distance(2.24),while the highest genetic distance(5.92)was observed between Super Marmand and Peto86,on the one hand,and between Castle Rock and Moneymaker,on the other *** chemical analysis of fruit sap indicated the highest levels of TPC,total flavonoids,anthocyanin,ascorbic acid and total soluble solids in Peto 86 and Castle Rock *** analysis of tomato cultivars based on morphological and molecular attributes indicated four distinct *** 86,Castle Rock,and Red star cultivars can be recommended for the tomato hybridization breeding programs in the future,with other tomato cultivars as potentially high-yielding parents.

Development and Validation of Extraction Method for the Determination of UC781 in Cervicovaginal Fluid

Liquid chromatography plays the important and critical role in the field of clinical pharmacology of evaluating drugs in biological matrices. Studying antiretroviral drugs in the female genital tract has important implications for using drugs as a vaginal microbicide for prevention of HiV-1 sexual transmission. Accurate measurement of drug levels is extremely important in optimizing drug concentration in gel formulation. Extracting drugs from small volumes of viscous, proteinaceous substances like cervicovaginal fluid (CVF) is a practically challenging process. The proposed method was designed to introduce procedure for sample collection and drug extraction procedure for CVF matrix before the chromatographic separation. Based on this extraction method, we validated a reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry assay in order to quantify UC781 in female genital tract compartment. The LC-MS method was validated based on a novel extraction technique which proved to be efficient in reducing analyte degradation with an average extraction efficiency of 72%. This method is accurate, demonstrating an average accuracy over three QC (n = 30) concentrations ranging from 99.9% to 106.1%. Average precision within-day and between-day ranged from 3.1% to 10.2% and 5.1% to 6.4%, respectively. We demonstrated that the analyte was able to maintain its stability under various conditions using this extraction method. The sample preparation, extraction, and the powerful liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry can readily be applied for accurate quantification of similar drugs in CVF.

Clinical Examination and Ultrasonography as Predictors of Lateral neck Lymph nodes Metastasis in Primary Well Differentiated Thyroid Cancer

Background: Lateral neck dissection is risky and should be performed only as a therapeutic intervention for known disease. Aim of the Study: This study aims at finding predictors which help in selecting patients who have high risk of lymph node metastasis. Methods: All the patients with well differentiated thyroid cancer underwent thyroidectomy with lateral lymph nodes (Lns) dissection with available pathology report and sufficient data have been included in the study. Results: Sixty nine patients have been included in this study. in multivariate analysis, the most reliable and significant factors for detecting L.n. involvement were the clinical picture and the U/S appearance of the neck with P value of (0.008) and (0.001) respectively. Conclusion: Clinical and U/S examinations are the most independent and reliable factors to detect lateral neck lymph nodes involvement.

Endoscopic Transsphenoidal Surgery for Pituitary Adenoma. Early Experience in Sohag University Hospitals

Objective: To report the results of our first series of patients undergoing a purely endoscopic endonasal approach for pituitary surgery in Sohag University Hospitals. Patients and Methods: We reviewed 20 consecutive patients during the period from January 2017 to January 2020 with pituitary adenoma who underwent purely endoscopic transsphenoidal resection of their lesions. The patients’ clinical outcomes, degrees of tumor removal, and complications were reported. Results: There were 18 primary and 2 recurrent adenomas (19 nonfunctioning and 1 functioning GH secreting adenoma). The average degree of gross total removal for tumors was 70%, C.S.F leak occurred in 20%, diabetes insipidus in 10% and sellar hemorrhage in 5%. There was no post-operative mortality, vascular injury, sphenoiditis, septal perforation, epistaxis or general complication. Conclusion: A purely endoscopic approach for pituitary adenoma treatment is a safe and effective alternative to the traditional microscopic procedure.n>
