Human speech indirectly represents the mental state or emotion of *** use of Artificial Intelligence(AI)-based techniques may bring revolution in this modern era by recognizing emotion from *** this study,we introduced a robust method for emotion recognition from human speech using a well-performed preprocessing technique together with the deep learning-based mixed model consisting of Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)and Convolutional Neural Network(CNN).About 2800 audio files were extracted from the Toronto emotional speech set(TESS)database for this study.A high pass and Savitzky Golay Filter have been used to obtain noise-free as well as smooth audio data.A total of seven types of emotions;Angry,Disgust,Fear,Happy,Neutral,Pleasant-surprise,and Sad were used in this ***,Fundamental frequency,and Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient(MFCC)have been used to extract the emotion features,and these features resulted in 97.5%accuracy in the mixed LSTM+CNN *** mixed model is found to be performed better than the usual state-of-the-art models in emotion recognition from *** also indicates that this mixed model could be effectively utilized in advanced research dealing with sound processing.

Current Status of Radiation Dose Levels in Conventional Pediatric Radiography: A Review Study

Artificial sources of radiation account for approximately 14% of the annual radiation dose from all sources of radiation. Because of the increased lifetime risk per unit dose for children, radiographic procedures could lead to increase the radiogenic risk of cancer. This study intended to review the pediatric doses in planar radiography procedures and to assess different methods used to reduce the radiation dose for pediatric patients. Studies addressing pediatric dose optimization were identified from a search of the internet scientific databases. The search in literature was limited to journal articles that were written in English. The findings of the study illustrate that there are many available methods of dose reduction are available. The application of dose reduction methods will reduce the dose up to 75% of its current value. Training of staff is the cornerstone of patient dose optimization in pediatric radiology.

"To-and-fro" waveform in the diagnosis of arterial pseudoaneurysms

Medical ultrasound imaging with Doppler plays an essential role in the diagnosis of vascular disease. This study intended to review the clinical use of "to-and-fro" waveform at duplex Doppler ultrasonography(DDU) in the diagnosis of pseudoaneurysms in the arterial vessels of upper and lower extremities, abdominal aorta, carotid and vertebral arteries as well as to review our personal experiences of "to-and-fro" waveform at DDU also. After receiving institutional review board approval, an inclusive literature review was carried out in order to review the scientific foundation of "toand-fro" waveform at DDU and its clinical use in the diagnosis of pseudoaneurysms in various arterial vessels. Articles published in the English language between 2000 and 2013 were evaluated in this review study. Pseudoaneurysms in arterial vessels of the upper and lower extremities, abdominal aorta, carotid and vertebral arteries characterized by an extraluminal pattern of blood flow, which shows variable echogenicity, interval complexity, and "to-and-fro" flow pattern on color Doppler ultrasonography. In these arterial vessels, Duplex ultrasonography can demonstrate the degree of clotting, pseudoaneurysm communication, the blood flow patterns and velocities. Spectral Doppler applied to pseudoaneurysms lumen revealed systolic and diastolic turbulent blood flow with traditional "toand-fro" waveform in the communicating channel. Accurate diagnosis of pseudoaneurysm by spectral Doppler is based on the documentation of the "to-andfro" waveform. The size of pseudoaneurysm determines the appropriate treatment approach as surgical or conservative.

Determining the spatial distribution of soil properties using the environmental covariates and multivariate statistical analysis: a case study in semi-arid regions of Iran

Natural soil-forming factors such as landforms, parent materials or biota lead to high variability in soil properties. However, there is not enough research quantifying which environmental factor(s) can be the most relevant to predicting soil properties at the catchment scale in semi-arid areas. Thus, this research aims to investigate the ability of multivariate statistical analyses to distinguish which soil properties follow a clear spatial pattern conditioned by specific environmental characteristics in a semi-arid region of Iran. To achieve this goal, we digitized parent materials and landforms by recent orthophotography. Also, we extracted ten topographical attributes and five remote sensing variables from a digital elevation model(DEM) and the Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper(ETM), respectively. These factors were contrasted for 334 soil samples(depth of 0–30 cm). Cluster analysis and soil maps reveal that Cluster 1 comprises of limestones, massive limestones and mixed deposits of conglomerates with low soil organic carbon(SOC) and clay contents, and Cluster 2 is composed of soils that originated from quaternary and early quaternary parent materials such as terraces, alluvial fans, lake deposits, and marls or conglomerates that register the highest SOC content and the lowest sand and silt contents. Further, it is confirmed that soils with the highest SOC and clay contents are located in wetlands, lagoons, alluvial fans and piedmonts, while soils with the lowest SOC and clay contents are located in dissected alluvial fans, eroded hills, rock outcrops and steep hills. The results of principal component analysis using the remote sensing data and topographical attributes identify five main components, which explain 73.3% of the total variability of soil properties. Environmental factors such as hillslope morphology and all of the remote sensing variables can largely explain SOC variability, but no significant correlation is found for soil texture and calcium carbon

本课题针对Minisys-1A SoC系统,并为其设计了存储系统结构。本课题的目的是设计实现存储系统层次结构,以确保整个系统在较高速度及较高性能工作条件下的需求,同时设计扩展内存存储空间,增强实用性。本课题设计的存储系统结构采用哈佛和冯·诺依曼的双层次存储结构,并从快速存储到慢速存储、从小存储到大存储两个方面深入研究存储器层次结构。同时,在如何缩小Minisys-1A SoC CPU和内存间的速度差距上进行了相关研究。本课题存储系统的设计分为四个层次：一级缓存(该层次采用哈佛结构,包括独立的指令缓存和数据缓存);二级缓存(该层次采用冯诺依曼体系结构,指令缓存和数据缓存统一的缓存结构);三级存储结构是内存控制器(主存储器);最后是微型SD卡主控制器存储结构,作为Minisys-1A的系统硬盘。整个存储系统的设计基于Xilinx Vivado 2013.4套件,并采用Verilog硬件描述语言编写代码,实验平台采用Xilinx的Aartix7家族的FPGA目标设备,仿真工具采用Vivado仿真器。

Toward Developing a Syllabus-Oriented Computer-Based Question-Banks Software to Support Partially Computerized Exams

Aims: This study aims at designing and implementing syllabus-oriented question-bank system that is capable of producing paper-based exams with multiple forms along with answer keys. The developed software tool is named Χ(Chi)-Pro Milestone and supports four types of questions, namely: Multiple-choice, True/False, Short-Answer and Free-Response Essay questions. The study is motivated by the fact that student number in schools and universities is continuously growing at high, non-linear, and uncontrolled rates. This growth, however, is not accompanied by an equivalent growth of educational resources (mainly: instructors, classrooms, and labs). A direct result of this situation is having relatively large number of students in each classroom. It is observed that providing and using online-examining systems could be intractable and expensive. As an alternative, paper-based exams can be used. One main issue is that manually produced paper-based exams are of low quality because of some human factors such as instability and relatively narrow range of topics [1]. Further, it is observed that instructors usually need to spend a lot of time and energy in composing paper-based exams with multiple forms. Therefore, the use of computers for automatic production of paper-based exams from question banks is becoming more and more important. Methodology: The design and evaluation of X-Pro Milestone are done by considering a basic set of design principles that are based on a list of identified Functional and Non-Functional Requirements. Deriving those requirements is made possible by developing X-Pro Milestone using the Iterative and Incremental model from software engineering domain. Results: We demonstrate that X-Pro Milestone has a number of excellent characteristics compared to the exam-preparation and question banks tools available in market. Bibliometry-Aware and Domain-Specific Features for Discovering Publication Hierarchically-Ordered Contexts and Scholarly-Communication Structures

Discovering publication hierarchically-ordered contexts is the main task in context-based searching paradigm. The proposed techniques to discover publication contexts relies on the availability of domain-specific inputs, namely a pre-specified ontology terms. A problem with this technique is that the needed domain-specific inputs may not be available in some scientific disciplines. In this paper, we propose utilizing a powerful input that is naturally available in any scientific discipline to discover the hierarchically-ordered contexts of it, namely paper citation and co-authorship graphs. More specifically, we propose a set of domain-specific bibliometry-aware features that are automatically computable instead of domain-specific inputs that need experts’ efforts to prepare. Another benefit behind considering bibliometric-features to adapt to the special characteristics of the literature environment being targeted, which in turn facilitates contexts membership decision making. One key advantage of our proposal is that it considers temporal changes of the targeted publication set.

Comparison and Evaluation of Two Analytical Methods for Cation Exchange Capacity and Exchangeable Sodium Percentage of Five Soil Types in Central Sudan

Twenty-six soil samples were collected from five soil profiles at different climatological and ecological regions in central Sudan. Soil profile was dug in each studied area and morphological profile description was carried out for different horizons. All samples were analyzed using two different methods to determine Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) and exchangeable sodium percentage (ESP). Statistical analysis (T-test) was used in order to investigate the differences between soil samples for the studied locations. Significant differences appeared when compared the two methods for CEC determination at Gedaref area, Wad Medani and Nile flood plain and that appeared in evaluation of ESP at Nile flood plain and Shambat area. The results also revealed that, the developed method used in this study was more practical, simple and reliable for determination of CEC and ESP as the currently used in most soil laboratories. In addition, it will be safer than the other methods in some problematic soils. The adoption of this developed method is advisable because it is less time consuming as it omits the washing step. In contrast, the old method cannot be a good substitute in laboratories which have no possibility to determine sodium by using flame photometer. We conclude that when the developed method is used to determine CEC and ESP time will be saved, that fewer amounts of chemicals will be used and that accurate results will be achieved.
