Prevalence of Depression and Anxiety Disorders in Peri-Natal Sudanese Women and Associated Risks Factors

Th. purpose of th.s study was to estimate a point prevalence of depression and anxiety disorders among Sudanese peri-natal women attending ant-natal and postnatal clinics in th. capital city of Sudan. Simultaneously, to examine th. associated risks factors. Participants were 945 peri-natal women in two main women antenatal and post natal clinics in th. Capital City of Sudan screened consecutively. Th.y were divided into two groups. Th. first group was of, Four h.ndreds eigh.y (480) women in th.ir th.rd trimester, and th. second group consisted of Four h.ndreds Sixty Five (465) women in th. first 10 week of postnatal period. All participants were screened, using Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), h.spital Anxiety and Depression scale (h.DS), and Personal information Questionnaire (PIQ) for collecting socio-demograph.c, personal, medical, social and family h.story data. Routine urine and blood results were recorded. Results: 59% of prenatal and 46% of postnatal women suffered from h.gh.levels of distress in th. form of mixed anxiety and depressive symptoms. h.wever, only 20.9% of peri-natal women suffered of moderate to severe depression. Over 90% of th. depressed women were not formally diagnosed or received psych.atric h.lp. Poor marital relationsh.p, ph.sical co-morbidity, positive family h.story and past psych.atric h.story of depression were th. main significant risk factors associated with.perinatal depression and anxiety. Conclusion: Contrary to th. commonly h.ld views th.t perinatal women are mainly pligh.ed with.depression as th. main mental illness, th.s study confirms initial findings th.t, anxiety disorder is far more prevalent and more distressing to th.s vulnerable group. Moreover, psych.atric morbidities in both.prenatal and postnatal periods attract h.gh.prevalence rates in low income countries. Maternal h.alth.policies in low income countries must incorporate routine screening for mental h.alth.status, basic support and interventions for mental illnesse

It is a retrospective qualitative study of all patients th.t h.d received ECT treatment in Kh.rtoum National Psych.atric h.spitals in th. period between January 2010 and December 2010 with.special reference to indications, side effects, and outcome using th. same outcome criteria used by th. royal college of Psych.atrists (UK) for modified audit format. 85% from 269 of overall Sudanese patients wh. h.d received ECT sh.wed remarkable clinical response, with.no major adverse side effects. Interestingly, th. response rate was over 90% for patients with.mania spectrum diagnosis. 85% of our patients were under th. age of 40. Two th.rds of th. patients, wh. received ECT, were male. Th. main indication for ECT (45%) was mania, wh.le depression and mixed affective states constituted less th.n 25% of th. sample. Conclusion: In comparison to th. West, ECT plays a major role in th. treatment of mania and manic spectrum disorders in Africa.

As a significant index to evaluate th. mixing efficiency,studying th. concentration distribution is directly related to th. intensity of segregation(I_(s)).In th.s work,th. I_(s) of th. mixture composed of NaCl solutionwater was investigated experimentally in a rotating bar reactor(RBR)by th. conductivity *** results sh.wed th.t th. mixing efficiency was improved along th. axial direction from th. bottom to th. top in th. *** concentration distribution at th. bottom section was more uneven,and I_(s) was h.gh.r compared with.th. top section,wh.ch.decreased from 6.53×10^(-5)to 1.57×10^(-7).With.th. increase of rotational speed from 0 to 700 r·min^(-1),I_s at th. bottom and top sections decreased from 4.27×10^(-3)to 7.10×10^(-5)and from 1.93×10^(-3)to 7.29×10^(-7),*** increases flow rate of solution A,and th. decreases of concentration of NaCl and flow rate of solution B gave rise to th. reduction of I_(s),signifying an improved mixing *** results revealed th.t th. conductivity meth.d used in th.s paper h.s h.gh.efficiency and low cost to measure th. I_(s),wh.ch.indicates a promising prospect for estimating reactors'mixing performance.

A suite of ~1.84-1.92 Ga metamafic dykes with.n th. paragneiss suite（kh.ndalite） of th. Quanji massif in NW Ch.na, h.s been ch.sen in th.s study for furth.r understanding th. tectonic evolution and possible links to th. global Columbia supercontinent. Occurrence and field relations suggest th.t th.y were formed coevally with.a previous studied ~1.83-1.85 Ga metamafic dyke swarms. Wh.le-rock major and trace elemental geoch.mistry suggests precursor magma of th. amph.bolites being generated from a volcanic arc-related tectonic setting rath.r th.n a back-arc environment wh.re th. metamafic dyke swarms were emplaced. Th. metamafic dykes sh.w enrich.ent of LREE and strongly negative anomalies for Ta-Nb, Zr-h. and Ti, h.ve h.gh.SiO_2（49.3 wt.%-52.5 wt.%） but low MgO（6.40 wt.%-7.76 wt.%） contents and Mg~#（Mg~#=[100×（MgO/40.3）]/[MgO/40.3＋FeO/71.8]） values（45.7-52.1）, suggesting evolved precursor magma. Th. h.gh.values of La/Ta（22.2-42.8） and La/Nb（1.71-2.47）, mildly negative εNd（t） values（-2.51-0.15）, with.depleted mantle model ages（TDM） of 2.45-2.84 Ga, suggest th.t th.ir precursor magmas were possibly derived from a subduction-related fluid metasomatized Arch.an sub-continental lith.sph.ric mantle. Th.s study provides furth.r evidence for oceanic plate subduction prevailing before or around ~1.85 Ga, wh.ch.confirms a prolonged subduction-accretion-collision h.story in th. NW Ch.na wh.ch.is possibly linked to th. assembly of th. Columbia supercontinent.

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a common disease and it is a major cause of morbidity;several studies indicate th.t diabetes is a likely under reported cause of death. Ch.omium’s is important trace element to control diabetes mellitus and metabolism of carboh.drate, lipid and protein. Objective: Th. purpose of th.s study was to understand th. relationsh.p between serum ch.omium, with.h.A1c, Total ch.lesterol and Triglycerides among type 2 diabetes patients among diabetic patients. Meth.dology: Th.s is cross-sectional study done in Jabber Abu Ezz Centre for treatment and care of diabetics in Kh.rtoum—Sudan. Four h.ndred subjects were enrolled in th.s study;one h.ndred subjects were normal h.alth. as control group, and th.ee h.ndred subjects diabetic patient type 2 as test group;demograph.c and bioch.mical data were collected;serum ch.omium, Glycosylated h.emoglobin (h.A1c), Total ch.lesterol Triglycerides, were determined by using NYCOCARD READER II, spectroph.tometer (Biosystem 310) and spectroph.tometer 210-VGP. Result: In th.s study th.re is significant parameters level means of FBS h.A1c, Total Ch.lesterol, Triglycerides and Ch.omium of th. test groups wh.n compared with.h.alth. control groups subjects (P = 0.001, 0.018, 0.01, 0.011, 0.004), respectively. Significant negative correlation is between FBS, h.A1c, Total Ch.lesterol, Triglycerides and Ch.omium (r = ?0.555, P value = 0.003), (r = ?0.668, P value = 0.002), (r = ?0.335, P value = 0.004) and (r = ?0.774, P value = 0.002) respectively. Conclusion: Th.re was significant correlation between serum Ch.omium level with.fasting blood sugaer, Glycosylated h.emoglobin (h.A1c), Total ch.lesterol and Triglycerides among type 2 diabetes patients.

Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) affects mostly medium-sized arteries and sometimes small ones as well. Th. primary meth.ds used to make th. diagnosis are th.ough.ph.sical examinations, biopsies of organs th.t are affected, and/or angiograph.c studies. Immunosuppressants like glucocorticoids and cycloph.sph.mide are usually started as soon as possible after a diagnosis. So, it’s not clear if sudden remission of PAN h.ppens or not. h.re we present a 42-year-old male wh. presented with.righ. upper quadrant, righ. flank pain and fever. CT angiogram Aorta revealed soft tissue rind around th. small to medium sized vessel in th. abdomen and bilateral cortical renal infarcts of variable age in th. righ. more th.n th. left. A diagnosis of polyarteritis nodosa was made and th. patient ach.eved spontaneous remission with.no need for corticosteroids or immunosuppressive th.rapy.

Determinate was accomplish.d with.UV wavelength.detection 550 nm for saponification sample, and h.LC was done under conditions: C18 analytical column of TC-C18, 4. 6 × 250 mm, column temperature at room temperature, injected sample volume was 10 μL, mobile ph.se’s meth.nol, flow-rate 0.8 ml/min and detection wavelength.280 nm.

鉴于苏丹网上购物仍处于发展的早期阶段,有必要研究在采取网上购物时影响苏丹消费者态度的文化因素。为了填补这一空白,本研究旨在分析文化因素及其对网络消费者网购态度的影响。执行这项研究SWOT分析作了文献回顾和分析的基础上从问卷调查获得的数据除了定量研究已经进行,网上问卷调查已经分布,然后一系列的探索性和验证性因素分析是用来评估研究构造,显著性、效度和综合信度。结构路径模型分析也被用来检验研究模型的假设关系。本研究将有助于提供技术接受模型(TAM)对苏丹消费者的实证应用,此外,加强电子零售商对驱使消费者进行网上购物的文化因素的知识。TAM在这项研究中得到了扩展,以更好地理解和调查苏丹消费者的电子购物态度;研究了6个变量对网络购物态度的影响。本研究的发现支持了之前的研究,即易用性和社会规范除了感知风险的负面影响外,对真实网络购物有积极影响。此外,调查结果显示,苏丹网上购物的最大障碍是感知风险,而不是缺乏信用卡。综上所述,为了更好的网上购物效率,苏丹的网络营销者应该强调对网上购物态度有积极影响的因素,并通过产品和服务的现场试验来帮助他们的网站。
