Predictors of time-to-nadir serum creatinine after drainage of bilaterally obstructed kidneys due to bladder cancer

Background:There are persistent controversies about the outcomes and benefits of drainage of malignant ureteral obstruction by percutaneous nephrostomy(PCN).This study aimed to assess the predictors of the time-to-nadir(TTN)of serum creatinine(SCr)levels after drainage of bilaterally obstructed kidneys(BOKs)due to bladder cancer(BC)by *** and methods:This prospective nonrandomized study included patients with BOKs due to BC treated by PCN between April 2019 and March *** primary outcome measure was ***:Of the 55 patients with a median age(range)of 66 years(47-86 years),32(58.2%)had a normal nadir SCr and 23(41.8%)had a high nadir SCr within 21 days after drainage of BOKs due to *** nadir SCr was associated with a higher mean age(p=0.011)and lower body mass index(BMI,p=0.043).However,patients with normal nadir SCr had a significantly shorter TTN(p=0.023)and an increased mean SCr trajectory(p<0.001)during *** multivariate analysis,low urine output at presentation(p=0.021)and high BMI(p=0.006)were associated with longer ***,the mean parenchymal thickness(p=0.428)and laterality of drainage(p=0.466)were not associated with the mean TTN and SCr normalization *** to the modified Clavien-Dindo classification,8 cases of hematuria were managed conservatively(grade 2),and 2 cases of PCN slippage were repositioned using local anesthesia(grade 3).Conclusions:Despite the safety of PCN for drainage of BOKs due to BC,more than 41%of the patients failed to have a normal nadir *** low urine output and high BMI were associated with longer *** of drainage had no significant effects on the TTN and SCr trajectory.

We present the physical parameters of three short period close binaries using data observed from the Kepler Space Telescope. All of these observations were taken in a single bandpass(which approximates the Johnson V-band). Our three systems are KIC 2715417, KIC 6050116 and KIC 6287172. The first system, KIC 2715417, is considered a semi-detached system with the secondary component filling its Roche lobe. The second system, KIC 6050116, is an overcontact system, while the third system, KIC 6287172, belongs to ellipsoidal variables as deduced from the Roche lobe geometry. For photometric analysis, we used the PHOEBE software package, which is based on the Wilson-Devinney code. Due to lack of spectroscopic data, the photometric mass ratios are determined from the analyses of light curves using the q-search method. The absolute parameters are determined using three different methods(Harmanec, Maceroni &Van'tVeer and Gazeas & Niarchos).

The 3D static reservoir modelling provides a good understanding for the hydrocarbon reservoir distri-bution and *** study aimed to construct a static model to study the gas-reservoir potentiality of the Messinian Abu Madi Formation in Baltim Field,offshore Nile Delta *** model was constructed based on the interpretation of the thirty-seven 2D seismic sections besides the analysis of well logs data for five drilled wells(Baltim East-2,Baltim East-3,Baltim East-5,Baltim North-1 and Baltim North-2).The seismic interpretation exposed that the Abu Madi incised valley in Baltim Field is oriented NNW-SSE with width ranges from 5 to 8 km and approximately 32 km in *** reservoir modelling revealed a relatively homogeneous reservoir facies qualities for gas production in two different zones within the Abu Madi *** trapping mechanism for these intervals is represented by pinching out in the two sides of the Abu Madi paleo-valley and bounded by two faults in the northern and southern parts of the study area.

The fungal diversity in harvested apples from organic or conventional management practices was analyzed in different fruit locations(stem end,calyx end,peel,and wounded flesh)shortly after fruit purchase(T1)and after 2 weeks of storage(T5).A total of 5,760,162 high-quality fungal sequences were recovered and assigned to 8,504 Operational Taxonomic *** of the phylum Ascomycota were dominant in all samples and accounted for 91.6%of the total number of detected *** was followed by Basidiomycota(8%),Chytridiomycota(0.1%),and unidentified fungi(0.3%).Alpha and beta diversity analyses revealed the presence of significantly different fungal populations in the investigated fruit *** detected fungi,the genus Penicillium prevailed in the peel and in the wounded flesh while Alternaria *** in the calyx and stem end samples that included apple core *** taxonomic units that appear to be closely related to pathogenic fungi associated with secondary human infections were present in peel and ***,significantly different populations were revealed in organic and conventional apples and this result was consistent in all investigated fruit parts(calyx end,peel,stem end,and wounded flesh).Several unique taxa were exclusively detected in organic apples suggesting that management practices may have been a contributing factor in determining the taxa *** contrast,little differences were revealed in the two assessment times(T1 and T5).Results of the present study represent an advancement of the current knowledge on the fungal microbiota in collected fruit tissues of apple.

Objective:To synthesize silver nanoparticles(AgNPs) by green methods using scrum latex of Calotropis procera at 80 ℃ and evaluate them against bacteria,dermatophytes and phytopathogenic fungi comparing with the activity of untreated ***:The synthesis of AgNPs was performed by mixing 3%latex scrum extract with the same volume of silver nitrate(2 mmol/L) solution in round flask and heating in water bath at80 ℃.Characterization of silver particles were determined using UV-vis spectrophotometer,transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared *** antimicrobial activity of the green synthesized AgNPs was determined against bacteria,dermatophytes and phytopathogenic fungi and compared to the crude untreated latex by agar-well diffusion ***:Biosynthesis of latex silver nanoparticles was successfully obtained by green *** formation of AgNPs has been confirmed by UV-vis,TEM microscopy.X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared *** analysis showed that synthesized AgNPs are highly stable spherical shaped particles,well dispersed with a diameter ranged from 4 nm up to 25 nm and an average size of 12.33 *** showed strong antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria(Escherichia coli,Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Serratia sp.) and antifungal activity against Trichophyton rubrum,Candida albicans and Aspergillus ***:It can be concluded that serum latex of Calotropis pmcera was found to display strong potential for the synthesis of AgNPs as antimicrobial agents through rapid reduction of silver ions(Ag^+ to Ag^0).The green synthesized AgNPs were found to show higher antimicrobial efficacy than crude latex.

A large subset of corneal pathologies involves the formation of new vessels(neovascularization), leading to compromised visual acuity. This article aims to review the clinical causes and presentations of corneal neovascularization(CNV) by examining the mechanisms behind common CNV-related corneal pathologies, with a particular focus on herpes simplex stromal keratitis,contact lenses-induced keratitis and CNV secondary to keratoplasty. Moreover, we reviewed CNV in the context of different types of corneal transplantation and keratoprosthesis, and summarized the most relevant treatment available so far.

BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori(***)is a significant human pathogen that is responsible for a variety of illnesses,including mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma,gastric cancer,peptic ulcers,and *** To investigate the frequency of *** infection and its resistance patterns among Egyptian patients and to determine the influence of *** virulence genetic determinants on the eradication success of 14-d triple therapy *** *** infections were investigated in 72 patients with gastroduodenal complications suggestive of *** *** cagA and vacA genotypes of cultured strains were studied using polymerase chain *** patients underwent 14 d of triple-therapy *** treatment response was examined using histology and a rapid urease test 6 wk after therapy *** The intention-to-treat eradication rate was 59.2%(95%CI:48.2%-70.3%).Rates of *** resistance to clarithromycin,amoxicillin,and metronidazole were 52.8%,81.9%,and 100%,*** eradication of *** was more significantly associated with vacA s1-positive strains[adjusted odds ratio(aOR)=0.507,95%CI:0.175-0.822].A significant association was found between failed eradication rate and *** strains resistant to clarithromycin(aOR=0.204,95%CI:-0.005 to 0.412)and amoxicillin(aOR=0.223,95%CI:0.026-0.537).CONCLUSION This study’s low *** eradication rate following 14-d triple therapy is concerning and *** pan-resistance to metronidazole followed by the high resistance to ciprofloxacin,amoxicillin,and clarithromycin in this research is challenging and of great concern.

Operating in natural wind field, the horizontal axis wind turbines are subject to cyclical variation of aerodynamic loads. This cyclical loads fluctuation is a result of two aerodynamic phenomenon: the first one is the advancing and retreating blade effect;the second one is related to the cyclical variation of induced velocity at the rotor plane. In these operating conditions, the correct prediction of this load variation is necessary to predict some important parameters linked to the fatigue and stability of free yawing turbines. The main objective of the present study is the evaluation of the azimuthal variation of normal force at different radial positions. To model the problem, the blade element momentum theory is used and wind turbine is supposed operate in yaw conditions. The aerodynamic coefficients are corrected using Chaviaropoulos and Hansen model to take into account the phenomenon of stall delay. A computer code was developed to obtain the numerical values and results are compared with measurements performed in the NASA Ames wind tunnel.
