This paper deals with robust direct power control of a grid-connected bmshless doubly-fed induction generator（BDFIG）. Using a nonlinear feedback lineariza- tion strategy, an attempt is made to improve the desired performances by controlling the generated stator active and reactive power in a linear and decoupled manner. There- fore, to achieve this objective, the Lyapunov approach is used associated with a sliding mode control to guarantee the global asymptotical stability. Thus, an optimal operation of the BDFIG in sub-synchronous operation is obtained as well as the stator power flows with the possibility of keeping stator power factor at a unity. The proposed method is tested with the Matlab/Simulink software. Simulation results illustrate the performances and the feasibility of the designed control.

The COVID-19 pandemic with its new variants has severely affected the whole world socially and *** study presents a novel data analysis approach to predict the spread of *** and logistic models are commonly used to determine the duration at the end of the *** show that these well-known models may provide unrealistic predictions for countries that have pandemics spread with multiple peaks and waves.A new prediction approach based on the sigmoidal transition(ST)model provided better estimates than the traditional *** this study,a multiple-term sigmoidal transition(MTST)model was developed and validated for several countries with multiple peaks and *** approach proved to fit the actual data better and allowed the spread of the pandemic to be accurately *** UK,Italy,Saudi Arabia,and Tunisia,which experienced several peaks of COVID-19,were used as case *** MTST model was validated for these countries for the data of more than 500 *** results show that the correlating model provided good fits with regression coefficients(R2)>*** estimated model parameters were obtained with narrow 95%confidence interval *** has been found that the optimum number of terms to be used in the MTST model corresponds to the highest R^(2),the least RMSE,and the narrowest 95%confidence interval having positive bounds.

Reaching a postmortem diagnosis of hypothermia is challenging in forensic ***,this study was conducted to detect the histopathological,histochemical and biochemical changes that occur in adult albino rats following exposure to induced fatal ***-four adult albino rats were divided into the negative control,moderate hypothermia,severe hypothermia and hypoxia *** in the control group were euthanized when those in the moderate hypothermic group *** samples were collected via heart puncture,and the cerebrum,heart,suprarenal gland,kidney,liver and skeletal muscle were removed to investigate the biochemical,histochemical and histopathological *** assessment depicted significant changes in lipid peroxidation,represented by increased malondialdehyde levels in the studied organs of the rats in hypothermic and hypoxia *** examination of the rats’organs revealed degeneration and necrosis in the hypothermia and hypoxia *** taken from the severe hypothermic rats revealed a loss of normal cardiac tissue architecture,necrotic changes in the pyramidal cells in the cerebral cortex,and massive necrosis,mainly in the tubules of the renal cortex and *** findings suggest that histological changes might be used as biochemical markers for postmortem diagnosing of fatal hypothermia,particularly in severe hypothermic conditions.

Several modifications in CA-4 were reported in literature for the development of various tubulin inhibitors. In our study, twenty-two newly synthesized heterocyclic derivatives of Combretastatin A-4 (CA-4) have been tested for their cytotoxic effect on four different types of cells with malignant behavior using CA-4 as a positive control. Compounds 5b, 15 and 16 showed the foremost potent antiproliferative activities as compared to CA-4 with IC50 starting from 6.9 to 13.7 μM. Molecular docking was performed with the crystal structure of tubulin employing a potent tubulin inhibitor CA-4 as a parent molecule. Molecular study advised that 5b, 15, 16 and 17 are promising tubulin inhibitors.

Background: Cadmium is a heavy metal having toxic effects on most organ systems of the body. Objectives: We aim to investigate the postulated protective properties of olive oil in Cadmium-induced renal toxicity in mice by utilizing standard biomarkers of renal toxicity, oxidative stress and histopathological characterization. Materials and Methods: Forty mice were randomly divided into four groups of 10 mice each. Group 1 served as control group, group 2 was given Extra-virgin olive oil orally, group 3 was given Cadmium chloride and group 4 was given Cadmium chloride with Extra-virgin olive oil. At the end of the experimental period, biochemical analysis histopathology of kidney was done. Results: The present study depicted that blood urea, serum creatinine and the antioxidant markers (Superoxide dismutase, Glutathione peroxidase and Catalase) levels were significantly increased in group 3 compared to group 1 and 2. After administration of Extra-virgin olive oil with Cadmium in group 4, the levels of those markers significantly improved. Histopathology of the renal tissue showed severe damage of glomeruli, severely congested blood vessels and marked dilatation of Bowman’s capsule in group 3 with improvements of these changes in group 4. Conclusion: This study suggests that Extra-virgin olive oil can be used as a cost effective safe anti-oxidative agent in the prevention of Cadmium toxicity.

syndrome （BCS） and identify the aetiologies of thisdisease in ***： Patients with BCS, hospitalised in our unitfrom January 2004 until June 2010 were included and theaetiological factors were assessed. Patients presentinga BCS in the setting of advanced-stage cirrhosis or aliver transplantation were excluded from the study. Thediagnosis was established when an obstruction of hepaticvenous outflow （thrombosis, stenosis or compression）was demonstrated. We diagnosed myeloproliferativedisease （MPD） by bone marrow biopsy and V617FJAK2 mutation. Anti-phospholipid syndrome （APLS） wasdetected by the presence of anticardiolipin antibodies,anti-β2 glycoprotein antibodies and Lupus *** also detected paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria（PNH） by flow cytometry. Celiac disease and Beh？etdisease were systematically investigated in our *** anticoagulant protein deficiencies were alsoassessed. We tested our patients for the G20210Amutation at Beaujon Hospital. Imaging procedures wereperformed to determine a local cause of BCS, such as ahydatid cyst or a liver ***： One hundred and fifteen patients wereincluded. Mean follow up： 32.12 mo. Mean age： 34.41years, M/F = 0.64. Chronic presentation was frequent：63.5%. The revealing symptoms for the BCS wereascites （74.8%） and abdominal pain （42.6%）. Themost common site of thrombosis was the hepatic veins（72.2%）. Involvement of the inferior vena cava alonewas observed in 3 patients. According to the radiologicalinvestigations, BCS was primary in 94.7% of the cases（n = 109） and secondary in 5.2% （n = 6）. An aetiologywas identified in 77.4% of the patients （n = 89）; itwas multifactorial in 27% （n = 31）. The predominantaetiology of BCS in our patients was a myeloproliferativedisease, observed in 34.6% of cases. APLS was foundin 21.7% and celiac disease in 11.4%. Background: It is unknown whether stapling the mesh affects recurrence rate, incidence of neuralgia, and port-site hernia. We chose to fix it to the exterior reducing port size, cost and pain, at the same comparing this with traditional mesh stapling. Methods: We conducted a prospective trial for laparoscopic TAPP inguinal hernia repair on 120 patients in which we fixed the mesh to the anterior abdominal wall using either two prolene threads that passed to the exterior and tied in place or traditional mesh stapling. Results: The operative time is ranged from 35 to 70 minutes for external fixation, 30 to 60 minutes for mesh stapling, and 4 to 51 months for follow-up, and no recurrence occurred in both groups during the procedure. Two cases with post TAPP pain in mesh stapling patients are discussed with reduction of the cost and port size in external fixation patients. Conclusion: It is not necessary to secure the mesh during laparoscopic TAPP inguinal hernia repair from the interior and it is fixed only to the exterior allowing a reduction in size of the ports and considerable reduction in cost with elimination of TAPP associated post operative pain.
