With the accelerated warm.ng of the world,the safety and use of Arctic passages is receiving m.re *** visibility in the Arctic has been a hot topic in recent years because of navigation risks and opening of ice-free northern *** weather prediction and statistical prediction are two m.thods for predicting *** m.crophysical param.terization schem.s for visibility are so sophisticated,visibility prediction using num.rical weather prediction m.dels includes large *** the developm.nt of artificial intelligence,statistical prediction m.thods have received increasing *** this study,we constructed a statistical m.del with a physical basis,to predict visibility in the Arctic based on a dynam.c Bayesian network,and tested visibility prediction over a 1°×1°grid area averaged *** results show that the m.an relative error of the predicted visibility from.the dynam.c Bayesian network is approxim.tely 14.6%com.ared with the inferred visibility from.the artificial neural ***,dynam.c Bayesian network can predict visibility for only 3 ***,with an increase in predicted area and period,the uncertainty of the predicted visibility becom.s *** the sam. tim.,the accuracy of the predicted visibility is positively correlated with the tim. period of the input evidence *** is concluded that using a dynam.c Bayesian network to predict visibility can be useful over Arctic regions for projected clim.tic changes.

Developing successful software with no defects is one of the m.in goals of software *** order to provide a software project with the anticipated software quality,the prediction of software defects plays a vital *** learning,and particularly deep learning,have been advocated for predicting software defects,however both suffer from.inadequate accuracy,overfitting,and com.licated *** this paper,we aim.to address such issues in predicting software *** propose a novel structure of 1-Dim.nsional Convolutional Neural Network(1D-CNN),a deep learning architecture to extract useful knowledge,identifying and m.delling the knowledge in the data sequence,reduce overfitting,and finally,predict whether the units of code are defects *** design large-scale em.irical studies to reveal the proposed m.del’s effectiveness by com.aring four established traditional m.chine learning baseline m.dels and four state-of-the-art baselines in software defect prediction based on the NASA *** experim.ntal results dem.nstrate that in term. of f-m.asure,an optim.l and m.dest 1DCNN with a dropout layer outperform. baseline and state-of-the-art m.dels by 66.79%and 23.88%,respectively,in ways that m.nim.ze overfitting and im.roving prediction perform.nce for software *** to the results,1D-CNN seem. to be successful in predicting software defects and m.y be applied and adopted for a practical problem.in software ***,in turn,could lead to saving software developm.nt resources and producing m.re reliable software.

One of the new m.thods for ensuring that the battery in a therm.l energy storage system.is kept at the proper tem.erature is the heat pipe-based Therm.lm.nagem.nt System.Tm.).In this study,the im.rovem.nt of cooling perform.nce of a heat pipe based Tm. is exam.ned through the variation of condenser section length of heat pipes in an *** Tm.s with an array of heat pipes with different condenser section lengths are *** system.perform.nces are evaluated using a validated num.rical *** results show that a heat pipebased Tm. provides the best cooling perform.nce when a wavy-like variation is em.loyed and when the condenser section length of the last set of the heat pipe in the array is greater than that of the penultim.te *** m.xim.m.cell tem.erature and the m.xim.m.tem.erature difference within the cell of this Tm. are decreased by 4.2 K and 1.1 K,respectively,when com.ared to the typical heat pipe based Tm. with zero variation in its condenser section ***,the strategy offers an im.rovem.nt in the therm.l uniform.ty for all the Tm. cases.

A m.them.tical m.del is presented for forced convective slip flow of a nanofluid past a radiating stretching/shrinking *** boundary condition is taken into *** nanofluid m.del involves the Brownian m.tion and therm.phoresis *** group transform.tion is used to the transport equations as well as the boundary conditions to develop the sim.larity equations,before being solved num.rically using the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg fourth-fifth order num.rical *** show the effects of the controlling param.ters on the dim.nsionless velocity,tem.erature,nanoparticle volum. fraction,skin friction factor,local Nusselt,and local Sherwood num.ers,num.rical results are presented both in graphical and tabular *** is found that the friction factor decreases with slip and m.lting param.ters for both stretching/shrinking *** is also found that the Nusselt num.er decreases with the first order slip while it increases with m.lting and radiation param.ters in both ***,the Sherwood num.er decreases with the m.lting param.ter both for radiating and non-radiating stretching/shrinking *** excellent agreem.nt is found between the present num.rical results and published results.

Probes are the interface between m.crosystem. and *** ideal interface is one-to-one *** various research groups have been able to establish som. sort of interfaces after m.ny years of research,they are very *** are m.llions in num.ers,whereas the prostheses successfully built so far have only a few hundred probes at *** an ef- fective interface is still far *** we have m.cro-and nano-technologies,we couldn't build a prosthesis with an effective *** reasons behind it are the type of probe being used and the poor design of the *** address this problem.we developed a m.thodology to design a probe and an array of probes with better resolution and less resistive donut *** m.thodology helps us to design a probe optim.zing all the *** presented our m.thodology through a design that is capable of 70 μm.penetration inside the *** tissue heating by our designed probe is only 0.411 °*** also characterized the donut probe,which could be used by any research group to design a donut probe of their specific need.

Well crystalline gadolinium.oxide（Gd2O3） nanostructures were grown by annealing the hydrotherm.lly as-prepared nanostructures without using any tem.late. m.croscopic studies of Gd2O3 nanostructures were recorded along the [111] direction due to the clearly resolved interplanar distance d（222）-0.31 nm.of the cubic crystal structure Gd2O3. Sensing m.chanism.of Gd2O3 as efficient electron m.diator for the detection of ethanol was explored. As-fabricated sensor dem.nstrated the high-sensitivity of -0.266 μAm.m.cm. with low detection lim.t（-52.2 μm.l/L） and correlation coefficient（r^2, 0.618）. To the best of our knowledge, this was the first report for the detection of ethanol using as-grown（at 1000 oC） Gd2O3 nanostructures by sim.le and reliable Ⅰ-Ⅴ technique and rapid assessm.nt of the reaction kinetics（in the order of seconds）. The low cost of the starting reagents and the sim.licity of the synthetic route m.de it a prom.sing chem.cal sensor for the detection of various toxic analytes, which are not environm.ntally safe.

WO3 decorated photoelectrodes of titanium.nanotube arrays （W-oxide TNTAs） were synthesized via a two-step process, nam.ly, electrochem.cal oxidation of titanium.foil and electrodeposition of W-oxide for various interval tim.s of 1, 2, 3, 5, and 20 m.n to im.rove the photoelectrochem.cal perform.nce and the am.unt of hydrogen generated. The synthesized photoelectrodes were characterized by various characterization techniques. The presence of tungsten in the m.dified TNTAs was confirm.d using energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDX）. Field em.ssion scanning electron m.croscopy （FESEm. and high resolution transm.ssion electron m.croscope （HRTEm. proved the deposition of W-oxide as sm.ll particles staked up on the surface of the tubes at lower deposition tim. whereas longer tim.s produced large and aggregate particles to m.stly cover the surface of TiO2 nanotubes. Additionally, the incorporation of WO3 resulted in a shift of the absorption edge toward visible light as confirm.d by UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and a decrease in the estim.ted band gap energy values hence, m.dified TNTAs facilitated a m.re efficient utilization of solar light for water splitting. From.the photoelectrochem.cal m.asurem.nt data, the optim.l photoelectrode produced after 2 m.n of deposition tim. im.roved the photo conversion efficiency and the hydrogen generation by 30% com.ared to that of the pure TNTA.

The use of unm.nned aerial vehicles(UAVs) in the collection of data from.wireless devices, sensor nodes, and the Internet of Things(IoT) devices has recently received significant attention. In this paper, we investigate the data collection process from.a set of sm.rt m.ters in advanced m.tering infrastructure(Am.) enabled by UAVs. The objective is to m.nim.ze the total annual cost of the electric utility by jointly optim.zing the num.er of UAVs, their power source sizing, the charging locations as well as the data collection trip planning. This is achieved while considering the energy budgets of batteries of UAVs and the required am.unt of collected data. The problem.is form.lated as a m.xed-integer nonlinear program.ing(m.NLP), which is decoupled into two sub-problem. where a candidate UAV and a num.er of buildings are first grouped into trips via genetic algorithm.(GAs), and then the optim.m.trip path is found using a traveling salesm.n problem.TSP) branch and bound algorithm. Sim.lation results show that the battery capacity or the num.er of UAVs increases as the coverage area or the density increases.
