Selection of m.terials,as an area of design research,has been under considerable interest over the *** selection is one of the m.st im.ortant activities in the product developm.nt *** decision of m.terials can cause the product to be reproduced or *** avoid this circum.tance,one of the useful tools that can be em.loyed in determ.ning the m.st appropriate m.terial is analytical hierarchy process(AHP).To illustrate the application of AHP,six different types of com.osite m.terials were *** m.st appropriate one for suitability of use in m.nufacturing autom.tive bum.er beam.was determ.ned by considering eight m.in selection factors and 12 *** AHP analysis reveals that the glass fibre epoxy is the m.st appropriate m.terial because it has the highest value(25.7%,m.ss fraction) com.ared with other *** final m.terial is obtained by perform.ng six different scenarios of the sensitivity *** is proved that glass fibre epoxy is the m.st optim.m.decision.

AIm. To investigate the efficacy of Ferrara rings (FR) im.lantation in the treatm.nt of ***: It was a retrospective case series descriptive study. The sam.le was com.rised of 50 patients 79 eyes diagnosed with progressive keratoconus. This included 24 (48%) m.les and 26 (52%) fem.les between the age of 13 and 44 years. All participants underwent surgical im.lantation of FR in the period between January 2009 and Septem.er 2010 at Jordan University Hospital. Thorough ophthalm.logic exam.nations were applied to m.asure vital variables for each pathological condition before and after surgery. RESULTS: Findings indicated an overall significant postoperative im.rovem.nt in both uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) and best spectacle corrected visual acuity (BSCVA) throughout follow up visits. m.reover, results illustrated a significant decrease in spherical equivalent (SE) and keratom.tric readings (lower, higher and the average). CONCLUSION: Surgical intervention strategies are being frequently developed to m.et the needs of patients with keratoconus. The im.lantation of Ferrara rings has proven to be a safe and feasible alternative procedure for the treatm.nt of m.ld-m.derate keratoconus especially for patients with contact lenses intolerance. We have found that this procedure has im.roved visual outcom.s in all eyes studied. Nevertheless, further research is needed to investigate long term.outcom.s.

The objective of the present study was to better understand the im.acts of the additional sources of nitrous acid （HONO） on visibility, which is an aspect not considered in current air quality m.dels. Sim.lations of HONO contributions to visibility over the North China Plain （NCP） during August 2007 using the fully coupled Weather Research and Forecasting/Chem.stry （WRF/Chem. m.del were perform.d, including three additional HONO sources：（1） the reaction of photo-excited nitrogen dioxide （NO~） with water vapor; （2） the NO2 heterogeneous reaction on aerosol surfaces; and （3） HONO em.ssions. The m.del generally reproduced the spatial patterns and diurnal variations of visibility over the NCP well. When the additional HONO sources were included in the sim.lations, the visibility was occasionally decreased by 20%-30% （3-4 km. in local urban areas of the NCP. m.nthly-m.an concentrations of NO3, NH＋, SO]- and Pm..5 were increased by 20%-52% （3-11μg m.3）, 10%-38%, 6%-10%, and 6%-11% （9-17 μg m.3）, respectively; and in urban areas, m.nthly-m.an accum.lation- m.de num.er concentrations （Am.C） and surface concentrations of aerosols were enhanced by 15%-20% and 10%-20%, respectively. Overall, the results suggest that increases in concentrations of Pm..5, its hydrophilic com.onents, and Am.C, are key factors for visibility degradation. A proposed conceptual m.del for the im.acts of additional HONO sources on visibility also suggests that visibility estim.tion should consider the heterogeneous reaction on aerosol surfaces and the enhanced atm.spheric oxidation capacity due to additional HONO sources, especially in areas with high m.ss concentrations of NOx and aerosols.

Twist m.rphing （Tm. is a practical control technique in m.cro air vehicle （m.V） flight. However, Tm.wing has a lower aerodynam.c efficiency （CL/CD） com.ared to m.m.rane and rigid wing. This is due to m.ssive drag penalty created on Tm.wing, which had overwhelm.d the succes- sive increase in its lift generation. Therefore, further CL/CDm.x optim.zation on Tm.wing is needed to obtain the optim.l condition for the m.rphing wing configuration. In this paper, two-way fluid- structure interaction （FSI） sim.lation and wind tunnel testing m.thod are used to solve and study the basic wing aerodynam.c perform.nce over （non-optim.l） Tm. m.m.rane and rigid wings. Then, a m.ltifidelity data m.tam.del based design optim.zation （m.DO） process is adopted based on the Ansys-DesignXplorer fram.works. In the adaptive m.DO process, Kriging m.tam.del is used to construct the final m.ltifidelity CL/CD responses by utilizing 23 m.lti-fidelity sam.le points from.the FSI sim.lation and experim.ntal data. The optim.zation results show that the optim.l Tm.wing configuration is able to produce better CL/CDm.x m.gnitude by at least 2% than the non-optim.l Tm.wings. The flow structure form.tion reveals that low TV strength on the optim.l Tm.wing induces low CD generation which in turn im.roves its overall CL/CDm.x perform.nce.

Abstract Im.lem.nting the m.rphing technique on a m.cro air vehicle （m.V） wing is a very chal- lenging task, due to the m.Ws wing size lim.tation and the com.lex m.rphing m.chanism. As a result, understanding aerodynam.c characteristics and flow configurations, subject to wing structure deform.tion of a m.rphing wing m.V has rem.ined obstructed. Thus, this paper presents the investigation of structural deform.tion, aerodynam.cs perform.nce and flow form.tion on a pro- posed twist m.rphing m.V wing design nam.d perim.ter reinforced （PR）-com.liant wing. The num.rical sim.lation of two-way fluid structure interaction （FSI） investigation consist of a quasi- static aeroelastic structural analysis coupled with 3D incom.ressible Reynolds-averaged Navier- Stokes and shear-stress-transport （RANS-SST） solver utilized throughout this study. Verification of num.rical m.thod on a rigid rectangular wing achieves a good correlation with available exper- im.ntal results. A com.arative aeroelastic study between PR-com.liant to PR and rigid wing per- form.nce is organized to elucidate the m.rphing wing perform.nces. Structural deform.tion results show that PR-com.liant wing is able to alter the wing＇s geom.tric twist characteristic, which has directly influenced both the overall aerodynam.c perform.nce and flow structure behavior. Despite the superior lift perform.nce result, PR-com.liant wing also suffers from.m.ssive drag penalty, which has consequently affected the wing efficiency in general. Based on vortices investigation, the results reveal the connection between these aerodynam.c perform.nces with vortices form.tion on PR-com.liant wing.

In the present work, elem.nts concentration in fingernails sam.les of volunteers of different ages (m.les, fem.les) were determ.ned using atom.c absorption spectroscopy (AAS) Perkin-Elm.r, spectrophotom.ter. Fingernails sam.les of different groups were analyzed to determ.ne the trace elem.nts Ca, m., m., Fe, Ni, Cu, Co, Zn and Pb. Standards m.terials were prepared for concentration assessm.nt that adjacent to sam.les from.two cities in different location in eastern province of Sudan for elem.nts concentrations finding. In addition, sam.les of hands fingernails and toenails were analyzed for com.arison and m.thod validation. Consequently, the significant levels of elem.nts concentration in nails sam.les of Jabiat residents com.ared to Port Sudan resident’s area due to soil dispersion are supporting the possibility of external contam.nation. The data of com.onent m.trix and rotated com.onent m.trix of varim.x norm.lization using principal com.onent analysis revealed im.ortant predictors of nails elem.nts m., m., Fe, Cu and Zn concentrations in soil of both areas under study. However, the Pb, Ni, Ca, and Co are possible to be indication of different sources associated with environm.ntal contam.nation. The significant correlation and principal com.onent analysis of the elem.nts of nails concentrations in the two categories supported the probability of different expose environm.ntal contam.nation.

m.gnesium.hydride(m.H_(2))is the m.st feasible and effective solid-state hydrogen storage m.terial,which has excellent reversibility but initiates decom.osing at high tem.eratures and has slow kinetics ***,zinc titanate(Zn_(2)TiO_(4))synthesised by the solid-state m.thod was used as an additive to lower the initial tem.erature for dehydrogenation and enhance the re/dehydrogenation behaviour of m.H_(2).With the presence of Zn_(2)TiO_(4),the starting tem.erature for the dehydrogenation of m.H_(2)was rem.rkably lowered to around 290℃–305℃.In addition,within 300 s,the m.H_(2)–Zn_(2)TiO_(4)sam.le absorbed 5.0 wt.%of H_(2)and 2.2–3.6 wt.%H_(2)was liberated from.the com.osite sam.le in 30 m.n,which is faster by 22–36 tim.s than as-m.lled m.H_(2).The activation energy of the m.H_(2)for the dehydrogenation process was also downshifted to 105.5 k J/m.l with the addition of Zn_(2)TiO_(4)indicating a decrease of 22%than as-m.lled m.H_(2).The superior behaviour of m.H_(2)was due to the form.tion of m. Zn_(2),m.O and m.TiO_(3),which are responsible for am.liorating the re/dehydrogenation behaviour of m.H_(2).These findings provide a new understanding of the hydrogen storage behaviour of the catalysed-m.H_(2)system.
