Photovoltaic cells are generally manufactured under standard test conditions. The operating conditions, very often induce performance losses different from those initially given by the manufacturer. This article presents an experimental acquisition and analysis system that integrates the synthetic efficiency ratio (SER) as a hybrid analysis tool to evaluate the performance of a monocrystalline photovoltaic solar panel, in this case the LW-MS90 panel in the city of Douala. The meteorological data obtained experimentally was used to evaluate these performances according to the manufacturer’s model in MATLAB/Simulink. By comparison with the experimental performances, the results quantify through a certain number of indices, a minimal power drop according to the acquired irradiance estimated at 3.45%. The interest of this approach is to contribute to the prediction of the operating performance of PV panels in the installation phase in non-standard areas.span>

Energy levels, transition probability and oscillator strengths have been calculated for the Ar XIII, Ti XVII and Fe XXI. The configurations included in the calculations are 2ssup>2sup> 2psup>2sup>, 2ssup>2sup> 2p 3l (l = s, p & d) and 4l (l = s, p, d, & f) of C-like Ar XIII, Ti XVII & Fe XXI which has 69 fine structures by using the fully relativistic flexible atomic code (FAC) program. These data are used in the determination of the reduced population and gain coefficients over a wide range of electron densities from (10sup>+18sup> to 10sup>+23sup>) and at various plasmas temperatures. The results show that the transitions in Arsup>18+sup>, Tisup>22+sup>, and Fesup>26+sup> ions are the most promising laser emission lines in the XUV and soft X-ray spectral regions.

Idiomarina loihiensis was isolated from the salt works in sfax (Tunisia), until now, the characterization of the GAPDH phosphorylante was never studied. Here, we report the isolation and the biochemical characterization of glyceralehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) fromI. loihiensis saline’s bacteria on the basis of the apparent native and subunit molecular weights, physico-chemical and kinetic characterizations. The purification method consisted of two steps, ammonium sulfate fractionation followed by one chromatographic step, namely dye-affinity on Blue sepharose CL-6B. Polyclonal antibodies against the purified enzyme were used to recognize theI. loihiensis GAPDH by Western blotting. The optimum pH of the purified enzyme was 8.5. studies on the effect of temperatures revealed an enzyme increasing activity of about 45?C. The molecular weight of the purified enzyme was 36 kDa determined by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Non-denaturing polyacrylamide gels yield a molecular weight of 147 kDa. The Michaelis constants for NAD+ and D-glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate estimated was 19 μM and 3.1 μM, respectively. The maximal velocity of the purified enzyme was estimated to be 2.06 U/mg, approximately 6-fold increase in specific activity and a final yield of approximately 32.5%. The physicochemical properties of this GAPDH, being characterized, could be used in further studies.

Objectives: Childhood malnutrition is a major concern in developing countries. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the nutritional status and dietary habits of school children. Methods: This is a community based cross-sectional survey designed to evaluate nutritional status of students aged (5 - 19 years) in Beni-suef Governorate, Egypt, during september-December 2013. A two-stage sampling technique was done;22 government schools were selected in the first stage. In the second stage, 1100 students were selected from the target population of the study. Weight, height, and age data were used to calculate z-scores of the three different nutritional indicators. Dietary habits were studied using a food frequency questionnaire. Results: Underweight (WAZ +2sD). Boys were more underweight (3%) than girls (2.2%). Conversely, girls tend to be more stunted (65.3%) compared to boys (59.9%) in the age group 10 - 14 years. Identified risk factors associated with malnutrition for those aged more than 10 years were: mother education (P-value = 0.03), father education (P-value = 0.04) and family size (P-value = 0.014). Conclusion and Recommendations: Child’s nutritional status is strongly associated with the literacy of both parents and family size. The prevalence of malnutrition can be reduced by implementation of school intervention programs for the socioeconomic development.

Purpose: There is a need for a continued effort to develop rapid immunodiagnostic assays for tuberculosis (TB) infection with greater sensitivity and specificity that can be used in the field and in the laboratory and that can be formatted for use with multiple species. This would help to obtain definitive early diagnosis of TB. The present study was developed to determine the role of using early secreted antigenic target-6 (EsAT-6) in immunodiagnosis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Methods: serum samples were obtained from TB infected patients and normal healthy controls. Two rapid immunodiagnostic assays (Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELIsA) and Immunoblotting) were performed. Results: The sensitivity of immunoblotting assay was 100%;however, EsAT-6 antigen was not able to discriminate between patients and normal controls. Application of direct ELIsA using EsAT-6 antigen yielded 97.6% sensitivity and 75% specificity for the diagnosis of TB infection. Conclusion: In conclusion, the detection of antibodies against EsAT-6 antigen in the sera of TB patients by direct ELIsA could be used as a preliminary assay for diagnosis of human M. tuberculosis infection. A combination of the ELIsA with either radiological or microscopic examination is required to overcome the low specificity of the assay for negative results.

Level structure, oscillator strengths, transition probabilities and radiative life times are evaluated for 1s2 2s2 2p63l, 4l, 5l (l = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4) states in sodium like Co16+. The calculations are carried out using COWAN code. The calculations made were compared with other results in literature where a good agreement is found. We also report on some unpublished energy values and oscillator strengths. Our results are used in the calculation of reduced population of 21 fine structure levels over a wide rang of electron density values (1018 to 1020) at various electron plasma temperature. For those transitions with positive population inversion factor, the gain coefficients are evaluated and plotted against the electron density.

A polycrystalline dense Ti3siC2 based ceramic material has been produced by several techniques. The effect of addition of TiC and siC is also studied. The Ti3siC2 material shows extraordinary electrical, thermal and mechanical properties. Furthermore, it shows a damage tolerance capability and oxidation resistance. In this work, we have synthesized Ti3siC2 by electro-thermal explosion chemical reaction (ETE) with high current density (900 Amperes/a.u) followed by uniaxial pressure. The structural properties of the as-prepared materials are studied by x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (sEM) and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDX) techniques. The chemical cartography, imaging and electronic properties are investigated using Ultra-sTEM and electron high energy loss resolution spectroscopy (EELs) techniques, respectively. The surface of Ti3siC2 is characterized by means of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPs). High resolution C 1s, si 2p, Ti 2p, Ti 3s core level spectra are explained in terms of crystallographic and electronic structure. Valence band spectrum is performed to confirm the validity of the theoretical calculations.

Background: Risk stratification of long-term outcomes for patients undergoing Coronary artery bypass grafting has enormous potential clinical importance. Aim: To develop risk stratification models for predicting long-term outcomes following coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Methods: We retrospectively revised the electronic medical records of 2330 patients who underwent adult Cardiac surgery between August 2016 and December 2022 at Madinah Cardiac Center, saudi Arabia. Three hundred patients fulfilled the eligibility criteria of CABG operations with a complete follow-up period of at least 24 months, and data reporting. The collected data included patient demographics, comorbidities, laboratory data, pharmacotherapy, echocardiographic parameters, procedural details, postoperative data, in-hospital outcomes, and follow-up data. Our follow-up was depending on the clinical status (NYHA class), chest pain recurrence, medication dependence and echo follow-up. A univariate analysis was performed between each patient risk factor and the long-term outcome to determine the preoperative, operative, and postoperative factors significantly associated with each long-term outcome. Then a multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed with a stepwise, forward selection procedure. significant (p sk factors were identified and were used as candidate variables in the development of a multivariable risk prediction model. Results: The incidence of all-cause mortality during hospital admission or follow-up period was 2.3%. Other long-term outcomes included all-cause recurrent hospitalization (9.8%), recurrent chest pain (2.4%), and the need for revascularization by using a stent in 5 (3.0%) patients. Thirteen (4.4%) patients suffered heart failure and they were on the maximum anti-failure medications. The model for predicting all-cause mortality included the preoperative EF ≤ 35% (AOR: 30.757, p = 0.061), the bypass time (AOR: 1.029, p = 0.003), and the dur
