Salmonella enterica has a wide diversity,with numerous serovars belonging to six different subspecies with dynamic animal-host *** FimH protein is the adhesin mediating binding to various cells,and slight amino acid discrepancy significantly affects the adherence *** date,the general function of FimH variability across dif-ferent subspecies of Salmonella enterica has not been *** investigate the biological functions of FimH among the six Salmonella enterica subspecies,the present study performed several assays to determine biofilm for-mation,Caenorhabditis elegans killing,and intestinal porcine enterocyte cell IPEC-J2 adhesion by using various FimH allele *** general,allelic mutations in both the lectin and pilin domains of FimH could cause changes in bind-ing affnity,such as the N79S *** also observed that the N79S variation in Salmonella Dublin increased the adhesive ability of IPEC-J2 ***,a new amino acid substitution,T260M,within the pilin domain in one subspecies llb strain beneficial to binding to cells was highlighted in this study,even though the biofilm-forming and Caenorhabditis elegans-killing abilities exhibited no significant differences in *** with point muta-tions being a natural tendency due to positive selection in harsh environments,we speculate that allelic variation T26oM probably contributes to pathoadaptive evolution in Salmonella enterica subspecies llb.

Integrative herbal treatments of diabetes in Beni Mellal region of Morocco

Objectives: Diabetes is one of the most life-threatening chronic metabolic disorders and is considered a global health problem due to its prevalence and incidence. In Morocco, several herbal preparations are utilized to treat this disease. For this reason, the current study aimed to identify and to collect data about the medicinal plants utilized in folk medicine for the treatment of diabetes in the Beni Mellal region of ***: An ethnobotanical survey was carried out among 400 herbalists, competent villagers and traditional healers from the Beni Mellal region through direct interviews using a semistructured ***: Forty-five medicinal plants belonging to 25 families were identified for their use in diabetes treatment. Interview results showed that the most frequently used plants were Olea europaea, Salvia officinalis, Allium sativum and Trigonella foenum-graecum, with a relative frequency of citation values of24.3%, 23.0%, 22.5% and 20.5%, respectively. Moreover, in this study, the Fabaceae family was the most commonly reported plant family, and the leaves and roots were the most commonly used parts, for the treatment of ***: The Beni Mellal region of Morocco has an important floristic biodiversity of plants used to treat diabetes in traditional medicinal practice. This result provides a good database for pharmacological screenings in the search for plant-based antidiabetic medications.

Short Term Wind Power Forecasting Using Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average Approach

Wind energy is one of the most promising electricity generating sources as a clean and free alternate compared with the conventional power plants and due to the volatility feature in the wind speeds it will reflect some problems in power systems reliability particularly if the system is deeply penetrated by wind farms. Therefore, wind power forecasting issue become and is still an important scope that will help in ed (economic dispatch), UC (unit commitment) purposes to get more reliable and economic systems. This paper introduces short term wind power forecasting model, based on ARIMA (autoregressive integrated moving average) which will be applied to hourly wind data from Zaafarana 5 project in Egypt. The proposed model successfully outperforms the persistence model with significant improvement up to 6 h ahead.
