Ethnobotanical Study of Medicinal Plants Used for Treating.Urinary Tract Infections in N’Djamena (Chad)

Introduction: Infection disease is a real publique health problem. The rise of resistance for modern antibiotic in infections treatment imposed us order alternatives. The study objective was to contribute in the knowledg. of medicinal plants uses in urinary infections treatment in N’Djamena (Chad) in view for amelioration the traditional medicine in future. Methodolog.: The study was conducted in the city of N’Djamena in the Republic of Chad that interviewed 60 traditherapists on using.11 plants for urinary tract infections treatment. The methodolog. of this study consisted of the knowledg. of medicinal plants that used by traditherapists, and the plants identification was done in the laboratory of IRED at Farcha. Results: A total of 60 traditherapists was interrog.ted on the plants used in the treatment of urinary tract infections among.the population of N’Djamena. The majority of traditherapists interrog.ted in this study were male with the rate of 61.67% ag.inst female with the rate of 38.33%. The ag. rang. of traditherapists was between 20 to 80 years, 25 (41.67%) from the ag. rang. between 30 - 50 years and 35 (58.33%) in ag. rang. from 50 to 70 years. For the orig.n of their knowledg., the study showed that 72% of traditherapists inherited the knowledg. from their family, while 15% inherited from the family and from training. The ethnic g.oups of the traditherapists were Sara (16%), Maraba (12%) and Massa (11%). According.to the results, 18.33% were illiterates, 49% attended primary school and 33.34% the secondary school. Our study found that 11 species of plants belong.ng.to 11 families were used in the treatment of urinary tract infection and the Ziziphus spina-christi was the most represented. According.to traditherapists the Ziziphus spina-christi, Cassia obovata and Euphorbia hirta were the most frequent plants used in the urinary tract infections treatment. Hematolog.cal Alterations in an Eastern Sudanese Chronic Kidney Disease Patient Population

Backg.ound: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), associated with a slow and prog.essive loss of kidney function over a period of several years, is an important clinical disaster with an increasing.rate of morbidity and mortality especially in the least developed countries. Many hematolog.cal parameters are thoug.t to alter dramatically during.the course of the disease. These include white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. Methods: We tried, retrospectively, to evaluate the peripheral blood hematolog.cal alterations in a g.oup of patients underg.ing.hemodialysis in an eastern Sudan dialysis center to add local medical information. Results: Anemia (Low hemog.obin and hematocrit) was detected in 94% of the patients’ g.oup. Mean Erythrocyte count (3.32vs.4.76 (×109/L)), Hemog.obin concentration (9.4vs.13 (g.dl)), Hematocrit (28.7vs.38.7 (L/L)) and platelet count (296 vs. 238 (×109/L)) were sig.ificantly lower in the patients’ g.oup than in the control g.oup (P-values Conclusion: Five out of eig.t studied parameters (Red cell count, hemog.obin, hematocrit, mean cell hemog.obin concentration, and platelets count) have shown a sig.ificant alteration in CKD patients. As the complete blood count (CBC) test is the most utilized test in clinical laboratory practice, these alterations may be considered as early indicators for CKD. Furthermore, all patients with CKD must be routinely checked for these alterations.

Microbiolog. Research Laboratory(MRL)is a biosafety level-2(BSL-2)research laboratory located at the main campus of Faculty of Medicine,Ain Shams University(ASU)in *** the objective of streng.hening.the departmental capacities of biosafety,a series of activities were carried out between October 2019,and January 2020 to raise awareness,along.with instilling.standard biosafety practices and procedures among.laboratory staff including.non-health *** staff were categ.rized according.to their biosafety knowledg. into three tiers:tier(1):with zero to minimal knowledg.,tier(2):with basic knowledg.,tier(3):with satisfactory *** based activities were desig.ed to alig. with their job ***:44 selected laboratory staff were trained on biosafety practices:12 from tier(1),19 from tier(2)and 13 constituted tier(3).Throug. reg.lar follow-ups,the impact of the implemnted training.plan was reflected on the practices and knowledg. of all laboratory *** among.health professions has increased by 60%.Furthermore,6 staff members have g.anted a biosafety certification by International Federation of Biosafety Association(IFBSA).Conclusion:establishing.a culture of biosafety within microbiolog. research laboratories is integ.al to safe research *** with developing.local and national biosafety reg.lations and policies will ensure research advancement without compromising.public health or environmental safety.

Introduction: Neonatal mortality remains a major public health concern. According.to the World Health Org.nisation (WHO), the number of newborns dying.each year has fallen from 5 million in 1990 to 2.4 million in 2019. The aim of our study was to describe the main morbid conditions and their lethality in newborns admitted to the paediatric ward of the CSREF in Commune V. Methodolog.: We conducted a 12-month prospective descriptive and analytical study from Aug.st 2020 to July 2021. Results: During.the 12 months of the study, out of 2654 neonates admitted to hospital, 216 met our inclusion criteria, i.e. 8%. Newborns admitted in the first few hours of life represented 99.54% of cases. Full-term newborns accounted for 65.74% of the total. Forty-eig.t percent of newborns had hypothermia on admission. The most common diag.osis was asphyxia in 55.56% of cases, followed by neonatal infection in 27.78% and prematurity in 10.65%. Death was recorded in 22.2% of cases. Asphyxia was the main cause of neonatal death, followed by prematurity in our context. Conclusion: Improving.the prog.osis of newborn babies will require a thoroug. understanding.of neonatal patholog.es and the implementation of a pre- and perinatal prevention policy.

许多年后,当回首过去的选择,我不禁想:人生中的一些事看似偶遇,但过后想来又觉得似乎冥冥之中早有安排,正如我的翻译梦与中文的邂逅。1977年,我18岁,埃及艾因·夏姆斯大学艾尔逊学院开设了中文系,这也是此后20多年间埃及高校唯一的中文系。第一批学生12人,我有幸成为其中的一员,并成为1979年埃及第一批送往中国留学的五名中文系学生之一。从此,我与中国和中国文化结下了不解之缘,至今已40余载。

Surg.cal Manag.ment of Mitral Valve Infective Endocarditis with Accidental Finding.of Open Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Objective: This case report aimed to hig.lig.t intersections of TB and Cardiovasular diseases which carry hig. morbidity and mortality rates. Methods: We are reporting.the surg.cal manag.ment of forty seven years female who had back g.ound history of IDDM (Insulin dependent diabetic Mellitus), ESRD (End stag. renal disease) on HD (haemodialysis) also she had left subclavian artery stenosis, and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. She was diag.osed with mitral valve infective endocarditis and found accidently to have an open pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) on the day before surg.ry. Results: She was started on first line anti-TB treatment. She was isolated in her private room and airborne precautions measures applied. The patient underwent a tissue Mitral Valve replacement and tricuspid valve repair annuloplasty. Special precautions were applied in Theatre and on cardiopulmonary bypass Machine g.ided by KAMC-J disinfection protocol. The patient made g.od recovery postoperatively. She was discharg.d well on day 7 post operatively. Conclusion: Intersections of TB and cardiovasular diseases carry hig. morbidity and mortality rates. Early diag.osis and early anti tuberculosis treatment can surely improve the patient prog.osis. Our decontamination and disinfective procedures are recommended. Cases like this should be monitored long.term for the development of further cardiovascular complication.

In this paper, the fractional auxiliary sub-equation expansion method is proposed to solve nonlinear fractional differential equations. To illustrate the effectiveness of the method, we discuss the space-time fractional KdV equation, the space-time fractional RLW equation, the space-time fractional Boussinesq equation, and the (3+1)-space-time fractional ZK equation. The solutions are expressed in terms of fractional hyperbolic and fractional trig.nometric functions. These solutions are useful to understand the mechanisms of the complicated nonlinear physical phenomena and fractional differential equations. Among.these solutions, some are found for the first time. The analytical solution of homog.nous linear FDEs with constant coefficients are obtained by using.the series and the Mittag.Leffler function methods. The obtained results recover the well-know solutions when α = 1.
