Searching for available parking spaces can be a painful experience for drivers due to driving around until finding a vacant *** study proposes a new method to automatically detect available parking *** proposed system identifies empty parking spaces using grayscale images obtained from any type of video *** method was found to successfully identify parking availability under different conditions and *** method was tested using real-life data and achieved a detection rate of 99.7%.This method can be applied in real-time to monitor parking availability and guide drivers to empty *** method has several advantages,including simple algorithms,the use of low-quality black and white images,and simple ***,the system can provide enormous cost savings for locations with existing black and white surveillance cameras instead of replacing existing cameras with new high-quality cameras.

This work was devoted to the study of the selective catalytic reduction of NO by NH3 on calcined and hydrothermal treated cerium loaded zeolite *** parent faujasite zeolite Na-F(Si/Al=1.32 and SBET=749 m^2/g) used as support for the preparation of the catalysts was obtained from industrial sodium metasilicate and aluminum *** expected,the NO conversion increases with increasing the percentage of cerium in the structure of the faujasite *** NO conversion into N2 is reached at 400℃at a space velocity of 250 000 h^-*** high conversion is due to the redox shift between Ce^3+/Ce^4+and the strong acid sites related to the rare earth present in the framework that is the key in SCR of NO ***,the highest loaded cerium catalyst retains almost its activity after hydrothermal treatment at 850℃.This higher loading is desirable for both activity and stability provided that two stages of preparation are used to put the Ce ions in the sodalite cages.

In this paper, the effect of four sequential cuts in side milling of Ti6Al4V on chip formation and residual stresses （RS） are investigated using finite element method （FEM）. While the open literature is limited mainly to the studies of orthogonal sequential cutting with the constant uncut chip thickness greater than 0.01 mm, it is suggested herein to investigate not only the variable uncut chip thickness which characterises the down milling process, but also the uncut chip thickness in the sub-micron range using a finite cutting edge radius. For the resulting ductile machining regime, the characteristics of the chip mor- phology, the force profiles, the plastic deformation and temperature distributions have been analyzed. Furthermore, this study revealed that the RS should be extracted toward the area where the insert exits the workpiece in the FE simulation of the down-milling process. The simulation of a number of sequential cuts due to the consecutive engagements of the insert is required in order to capture the gradual accumulation of the RS before reaching an asymptotic convergence of the RS profile. The predicted RS are in reasonable agreement with the experimental results.

This paper uses the four-variable refined plate theory （RPT） for the free vibration analysis of functionally graded material （FGM） sandwich rectangular plates. Unlike other theories, there are only four unknown functions involved, as compared to five in other shear deformation theories. The theory presented is variationally consistent and strongly similar to the classical plate theory in many aspects. It does not require the shear correction factor, and gives rise to the transverse shear stress variation so that the transverse shear stresses vary parabolically across the thickness to satisfy free surface conditions for the shear stress. Two common types of FGM sandwich plates are considered, namely, the sandwich with the FGM facesheet and the homogeneous core and the sandwich with the homogeneous facesheet and the FGM core. The equation of motion for the FGM sandwich plates is obtained based on Hamilton＇s principle. The closed form solutions are obtained by using the Navier technique. The fundamental frequencies are found by solving the eigenvalue problems. The validity of the theory is shown by comparing the present results with those of the classical, the first-order, and the other higher-order theories. The proposed theory is accurate and simple in solving the free vibration behavior of the FGM sandwich plates.

The transportation sector is characterized by high emissions of greenhouse gases(GHG)into the ***,electric vehicles(EVs)have been proposed as a revolutionary solution to mitigate GHG emissions and the dependence on petroleum products,which are fast *** are proliferating in many countries worldwide and the fast adoption of this technology is significantly dependent on the expansion of charging *** study proposes the use of the hybrid genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization(GA-PSO)for the optimal allocation of plug-in EV charging stations(PEVCS)into the distribution network with distributed generation(DG)in high volumes and at selected ***(PV)systems with a power factor of 0.95 are used as *** PVs are penetrated into the distribution network at 60%and six penetration cases are considered for the optimal placement of the *** optimization problem is formulated as a multi-objective problem minimizing the active and reactive power losses as well as the voltage deviation *** IEEE 33 and 69 bus distribution networks are used as test *** simulation was performed using MATLAB and the results obtained validate the effectiveness of the hybrid *** example,the integration of PEVCSs results in the minimum bus voltage still within accepted *** the IEEE 69 bus network,the resulting minimum voltage is 0.973 p.u in case 1,0.982 p.u in case 2,0.96 p.u in case 3,0.961 p.u in case 4,0.954 p.u in case 5,and 0.965 p.u in case *** are a sustainable means of significantly mitigating emissions from the transportation sector and their utilization is essential as the worldwide concern of climate change and a carbon-free society intensifies.

Among the factors slowing down the production of the electric vehicles in big series, we mention the problem of weak autonomy directly bound to the weak storage capacity of the batteries. In this context, this paper describes a strategy of power chain vector control reducing the consumption and integrating a system of energy recuperation. Besides, this power chain is conceived by an analytic approach optimizing the autonomy and reducing the production cost of electric vehicle. The choice of the static converter to electromagnetic switches is a determining factor for the reliability of the global system and the reduction of the consumption. This choice poses a problem of adaptation of this low-frequency converter type to the global system that will be treated in this paper.
