In this paper,we propose a new image fusion algorithm based on two-dimensional Scale-mixing Complex Wavelet Transform(2D-SmCWT).The fusion of the detail 2D-SmCWT cofficients is performed via a Bayesian maximum a Posteriori(mAP)approach by considering a trivariate statistical model for the local neighboring of 2D-SmCWT *** the approx imation coefficients,a new fusion rule based on the Principal Component Analysis(PCA)is *** conduct several experiments using three different groups of multimodal medical images to evaluate the performance of the proposed *** obt ained results prove the superiority of the proposed method over the state of the art fusion methods in terms of visual quality and several commonly used *** of the proposed method is further tested against different types of *** plots of fusion met rics establish the accuracy of the proposed fusion method.

Hand veins can be used effectively in biometric recognition since they are internal organs that,in contrast to fingerprints,are robust under external environment effects such as dirt and paper ***,they form a complex rich shape that is unique,even in identical twins,and allows a high degree of ***,most currently employed hand-based biometric systems rely on hand-touch devices to capture images with the desired *** the start of the COVID-19 pandemic,most handbased biometric systems have become undesirable due to their possible impact on the spread of the ***,new contactless hand-based biometric recognition systems and databases are desired to keep up with the rising hygiene *** contribution of this research is the creation of a database for hand dorsal veins images obtained contact-free with a variation in capturing distance and rotation *** database consists of 1548 images collected from 86 participants whose ages ranged from 19 to 84 *** the other research contribution,a novel geometrical feature extraction method has been developed based on the Curvelet *** method is useful for extracting robust rotation invariance features from vein *** database attributes and the veins recognition results are analyzed to demonstrate their efficacy.

Wireless sensor network (WSN) has been widely used due to its vastrange of applications. The energy problem is one of the important problems influencingthe complete application. Sensor nodes use very small batteries as a powersource and replacing them is not an easy task. With this restriction, the sensornodes must conserve their energy and extend the network lifetime as long as ***, these limits motivate much of the research to suggest solutions in alllayers of the protocol stack to save energy. So, energy management efficiencybecomes a key requirement in WSN design. The efficiency of these networks ishighly dependent on routing protocols directly affecting the network *** is one of the most popular techniques preferred in routing *** this work we propose a novel energy-efficient protocol for WSN based on a batalgorithm called ECO-BAT (Energy Consumption Optimization with BAT algorithmfor WSN) to prolong the network lifetime. We use an objective function thatgenerates an optimal number of sensor clusters with cluster heads (CH) to minimizeenergy consumption. The performance of the proposed approach is comparedwith Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) and EnergyEfficient cluster formation in wireless sensor networks based on the multi-Objective Bat algorithm (EEmOB) protocols. The results obtained are interestingin terms of energy-saving and prolongation of the network lifetime.

Objective:To investigate the epidemiological factors of tubereulosis(TB)in eastern ***:The socio-demographic and clinical data was retrieved from the database at Kassala hospital during the year of *** medical file of consequent patients who was discharged from the same ward in the hospital was reviewed to act as control for the TB ***:A total of 670 patients were registered at Kassala hospital with clinical,laboratory and radiological evidence proven *** TB accounted for 73.4%while extra-pulmonary TB was reported in 26.6%of all TB *** mean age(SD)was not significantly different between the cases and controls(670 in each arm).TB patients were those who had less education,and the infection more likely common among male ***:Intervention from outside the health field in particular awareness of associated risk factors and improvement of the educational level potentially will strengthen TB control.

The chromium(Cr)films on silicon Si(100)substrate are prepared using DC magnetron sputtering technique at an argon gas pressure of 3 Torr for different applied powers(40—140 W).The chemical composition,the thicknesses and the structural characterization of the deposited Cr films are studied and analyzed using energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX),scanning electron microscopy(SEm),and X-ray diffraction(XRD),***,the generated plasma parameters,including floating potential,plasma potential,electron density,ion density and electron temperature,have been measured,and the automated Langmuir probe is used for the Cr films *** ion and metal fluxes are also *** results show that the Cr film thickness enhances with the higher applied *** Cr deposited films properties are characterized and correlated with the measured plasma parameters.

From raw material storage through final product distribution,a cold supply chain is a technique in which all activities are managed by *** expansion in the number of imported meat and other comparable commodities,as well as exported seafood has boosted the performance of cold chain logistics service *** the basis of the standard basicpursuit(BP)neural network,a rough BP particle swarm optimization(PSO)neural network model is constructed by combining rough set and particle swarm algorithms to aid cold chain food production enterprises in quickly picking the best cold chain logistics service *** reduce duplicate information in the original data and make the input index more compact,the model employs rough *** of using gradient descent to train the weights of the neural network,particle swarm optimization is utilized to ensure that the output results are not readily caught in local minima and that the network’s generalization capacity is ***,an example is presented to demonstrate the model’s validity and *** findings reveal that the model’s prediction error is 40.94 percent lower than the BP neural network model,and the prediction result is more accurate and dependable,providing a new technique for cold chain food production companies to swiftly pick the best cold chain logistics service provider.

In this paper, we propose an algorithm for solving inequality constrained mini-max optimization problem. In this algorithm, an active set strategy is used together with mul- tiplier method to convert the inequality constrained mini-max optimization problem into unconstrained optimization problem. A trust-region method is a well-accepted technique in constrained optimization to assure global convergence and is more robust when they deal with rounding errors. One of the advantages of trust-region method is that it does not require the objective function of the model to be convex. A global convergence analysis for the proposed algorithm is presented under some conditions. To show the efficiency of the algorithm numerical results for a number of test problems are reported.

The optical characteristics of a simple, planar, single layer, dielectric mg-based guided mode resonance filter （GmRF） were investigated by means of rigorous-coupled wave analysis （RCWA）. This filter has great potential for real-life applications, especially as bio- and environmental sensors. The structure of the proposed sensor is compact, and all of its layers can be grown in a single process. In this paper, we present results on the design of a water pollution sensor in the violet region of the visible spectrum. The spectral and angular sensitivities of the sensor for both the transverse electric （TE） and transverse magnetic （Tm） polarization modes were estimated and compared for various regions in the violet spectrum. A spectral response characterized with a narrow bandwidth and low reflection side bands was realized by carrying out extensive parameter search and optimization. Optimal spectral and angular sensitivities were found for the sensor with a grating thickness of 100nm in the Tm polarized mode where we found them to be 100nm and 40 degrees, per index refraction unit, respectively.

A new approach for the prediction of lift, drag, and moment coefficients is presented. This approach is based on the support vector machines （SVms） methodology and an optimization meta-heuristic algorithm called extended great deluge （EGD）. The novelty of this approach is the hybridization between the SVm and the EGD algorithm. The EGD is used to optimize the SVm parameters. The training and validation of this new identification approach is realized using the aerodynamic coefficients of an ATR-42 wing model. The aerodynamic coefficients data are obtained with the XFoil software and experimental tests using the Price-Paidoussis wind tunnel. The predicted results with our approach are compared with those from the XFoil software and experimental results for different flight cases of angles of attack and mach numbers. The main pur- pose of this methodology is to rapidly Predict aircraft aerodynamic coefficients.
