The history of assigning ranks to fungi,as well as the relative importance of using divergence time estimates is *** paper pays tribute to the major mycological players,and especially to David Hawksworth on his 70th birthday and his contribution to fungal ranking in Systema Ascomycetum from 1982 to *** the conclusion of the latter series,the ranking continued with the Outlines of Ascomycota in 2007 and 2010 and more recently with specific classes in‘Towards an outline of Sordariomycetes’and‘Families of Dothideomycetes’.Earlier classifications based on phenotype were certainly more subjective;however,remarkably many of these old arrangements have stood the test of *** recently,phylogenetic analyses have provided evidence towards a natural classification,resulting in significant changes in many *** classification arrangements however,are still subjective and dependent on the taxa analysed,resulting in different taxonomic interpretations and schemes,particularly when it comes to ***,what have been considered as genera by some,have been introduced as families by *** recently,estimation of divergence times using molecular clock methods have been used as objective evidence for higher ranking of taxa.A divergence period(i.e.200–300 mYA)can be used as a criterion to infer when a group of related taxa evolved and what rank they should be *** compiled data on divergence times for various higher ranking taxa in the Kingdom *** kingdom evolved 1000–1600 mYA(Stenian–Calymmian),while the presently accepted phyla evolved between 358 and 541 mYA(Devonian–Cambrian).Divergence times for subphyla are generally between 358 and 485 mYA(Devonian–Ordovician),those of classes 145–358 mYA(Jurassic–Carboniferous),subclasses 66–358 mYA(Cretaceous–Carboniferous),orders 23–252 mYA(Paleogene–Triassic),families 2.8–145 mYA(Neogene–Cretaceous),and genera 2.8–66 mYA(Neogene–Paleogene).Thus,there are wide discrepancies in the times diffe

Objective:To study the chemical profile,antimicrobial properties,and synergistic effect with known antibiotics of essential oil extracted from the marine red macroalgae Centroceras clavulatum(***)montagne,collected in ***:The chemical composition of the oil was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass *** oil was evaluated for antibacterial(Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Escherichia coli,Bacillus subtilis,micrococcus luteus,Staphylococcus aureus,and Klebsiella pneumoniae),and antifungal activity(Candida albicans,Candida glabrata,Candida krusei,and Candida parapsilosis),by the disc diffusion *** minimum inhibitory and minimum microbicidal concentrations of the oil were determined,as well as the synergistic effects of its application combined with the antibiotics ciprofloxacin and fluconazole,by the checkerboard ***:Thirty molecules were identified in the essential oil,comprising 96.27%of the total oil *** such as carvacrol(36.06%)were the most abundant compounds,followed by caryophyllene(14.67%),endo-borneol(9.04%),pyroterebic acid(3.23%)and caryophyllene oxide(3.13%).The oil exhibited a moderate antimicrobial activity with inhibition zone diameters ranging from 9.0 to 15.0 *** minimum inhibitory concentration values varied between 0.9 and 14.7 mg/mL,and Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli were the more sensitive bacteria with 0.9 and 1.9 mg/mL,*** minimum microbicidal concentration values ranged from 0.4 to 14.7 mg/mL.A significant synergic action was observed when the oil was applied in combination with ciprofloxacin and fluconazole,with fractional inhibitory concentration index values ranging from 0.31 to *** was found in 80%of the combinations and a 2 to 16-fold reduction of antibiotics mIC was ***:Our findings suggest that the essential oil of Centroceras clavulatum should be further appraised for its potential use in the management of multi-drug resistant microo

The use of superabsorbent polymers or hydrogels could increase the water holding capacity (WHC) of sandy soil and reduce water loss by deep ***,hydrogels' retained water availability to plants might be overestimated without taking into consideration the hydrogel particles ***,the ultimate objective of this study was to address the impacts of hydrogel particles size on hydrogel's retained water availability (plant available water,PAW),daily water consumption (DWC) and survival of Guava seedlings subjected to ***,some soil physical properties,i.e.,WHC,water retention properties,and hydraulic conductivity (Ksat) were *** (WaterSorb,'WS') application,particularly the WS of small particles,significantly reduced Ksat,and increased WHC and ***,seedlings grown in soil amended with WS fine (0.8-1.0 mm),WS medium (1.0-2.0 mm) and WS large (2-4 mm) survived for 27.0 ± 1.3,24.0 ± 1.1 and 17.0 ± 0.7 days,respectively,compared to 13.0 ± 1.0 days for the *** water stored in the WS of large particles was less readily available for plant ***,hydrogels,had no effect on the DWC of the *** hydrogels as a soil amendment increases WHC PAW,growth and survival of Guava seedlings,while the effect was less pronounced for the large hydrogel particles which had lower specific surface area and swelling rate.

Atmospheric concentrations of radon（^（222）Rn） gas and its short-lived progenies^（218）Po,^（214）Pb, and^（214）Po were continuously monitored every four hours at the ground level in Jeddah city, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The measurements were performed three times every week, starting from November 2014 to October 2015. A method of electrostatic precipitation of positively charged^（218）Po and ^（214）Po by a positive voltage was applied for determining^（222）Rn gas concentration. The short-lived^（222）Rn progeny concentration was determined by using a filter holder connected with the alpha-spectrometric technique. The meteorological parameters（relative air humidity, air temperature, and wind speed） were determined during the measurements of^（222）Rn and its progeny concentrations.^（222）Rn gas as well as its short-lived progeny concentration display a daily and seasonal variation with high values in the night and early morning hours as compared to low values at noon and in the afternoon. The observed monthly atmospheric concentrations showed a seasonal trend with the highest values in the autumn/winter season and the lowest values in the spring/summer season. moreover, and in parallel with alphaspectrometric measurements, a single filter-holder was used to collect air samples. The deposited activities of^（214）Pb and the long-lived^（222）Rn daughter ^（210）Pb on the filter were measured with the gamma spectrometric technique. The measured activity concentrations of^（214）Pb by both techniques were found to be relatively equal largely. The highest mean seasonally activity concentrations of ^（210）Pb were observed in the autumn/winter season while the lowest mean were observed in the spring/summer season. Lean manufacturing has been used for the last few decades as a process and performance improvement *** known as Toyota production system(TPS),lean is now used in almost all service and manufacturing sectors to deliver favorable results such as decreased operational cost,increased customer satisfaction,decreased cycle time,and enhanced *** the coronavirus disease(COVID 19)pandemic,the manufacturing sector struggled immensely and could not function well even after lockdown was eased in many *** companies found out there are not ready to conform with new regulations made by authorities in many *** paper proposes the use of simulation and multi response optimization in addition to other typical lean tools in order to arrive at optimum performance at the end of each project through an established optimization *** framework is used in a real case study performed at an aluminum extrusion *** manufacturing helps organizations to operate with smaller number of *** standardizes all processes so that most of the jobs can be done by most of the workers,but this is not enough to create a healthy,sanitized work *** framework utilizes the strengths of lean tools and adds pandemic readiness factor to them to ensure improvement in performance and health pandemic *** of the framework in the case company resulted in 50%reduction in labor,$730000 in expected annual cost savings,reduction in inventory levels,improved employee morale and the achievement of pandemic ready status.

The dominance of Android in the global mobile market and the open development characteristics of this platform have resulted in a significant increase in *** malicious applications have become a serious concern to the security of Android *** address this problem,researchers have proposed several machine-learning models to detect and classify Android malware based on analyzing features extracted from Android ***,most existing studies have focused on the classification task and overlooked the feature selection process,which is crucial to reduce the training time and maintain or improve the classification *** current paper proposes a new Android malware detection and classification approach that identifies the most important features to improve classification performance and reduce training *** proposed approach consists of two main ***,a feature selection method based on the Attention mechanism is used to select the most important ***,an optimized Light Gradient Boosting machine(LightGBm)classifier is applied to classify the Android samples and identify the *** feature selection method proposed in this paper is to integrate an Attention layer into a multilayer perceptron neural *** role of the Attention layer is to compute the weighted values of each feature based on its importance for the classification *** evaluation of the approach has shown that combining the Attention-based technique with an optimized classification algorithm for Android malware detection has improved the accuracy from 98.64%to 98.71%while reducing the training time from 80 to 28 s.
