Sedimen.a.ion Processes at the navigation Channel of the Liquefied natural Gas (LnG) Port, nile Delta, Egypt

Liquefied natural Gas (LnG) port is located at Abu Qir Bay on the northwestern coast of the nile delta, Egypt. The port was constructed in 2004 to export liquefied natural gas worldwide. The offshore basins of this port including the turning and berthing areas (15-m depth) are connected to the deep water by a 15-m depth dredged channel that extends 4 km offshore. However, the navigation channel and its contiguous basins have experienced problematic shoaling that might affect the navigation.a.tivities of gas tankers. Sedimen.a.ion processes have been investigated by analyses of waves, currents, bathymetry, grain size of seabed and channel dimensions. Sedimen.a.ion rates are estimated using a developed numerical model. Sedimen.a.ion rate fluctuates between 0.048 × 106 m3/month and 0.388 × 106 m3/month, with an.a.n.a. sedimen.a.ion rate of 1.977 × 106 m3/yr. The variance in the sedimen.a.ion rates between winter and summer resulted in increasing of current speed and direction flowing towards offshore. The sedimen.a.ion process is influenced by the temporal variability in the direction.a.d intensity of the predominant waves, currents, orien.a.ion of navigation channel, basin breakwaters, seafloor morphology and sediment sources. Due to the geographic location of LnG port it lays within.a.sediment sink for sediments supplied from different alternating directions by several pathways, flowing towards the n-W, S-W, n-E, and S-E quadrants. Most of these currents components are substantially effective in transporting fine-grained sediment towards the navigation channel axis and contiguous basins. Together with these currents, the predominant nW and SE waves acting to agitate and stirrup sediments in the vicinity of the port, and thereby accelerating sedimen.a.ion rates.

Objective: To test the coalescence effect of two chemotherapy drugs at low effective dose(cisplatin.a.d taxotere) combined with pomegranate juice on.a.49 cancer cells. Methods: Infrared spectroscopy method is a qualitative test that was performed to ensure the existence of the phytochemicals providing the antioxidant activity through the presence of the hydroxyl group(-OH). The viability of A549 cell line and normal MCs was tested using the neutral red uptake, Clonogenic survival, XTT and Cell migration.a.says. Results: Our results showed that this combination firstly led to a greater decrease in the viability of cells comparing to those treated with chemotherapy drugs alone, and secondly led to a significant reduction in cell migration. Conclusions: These data suggest a synergistic effect between the pomegranate and cisplatin which makes probably this combination.a.powerful option for treating lung adenocarcinoma and in parallel minimizing the systemic side effects.

Impact of electromagnetic radiation exposure during pregnancy on embryonic skeletal development in rats

Objective:To evaluate the teratogenic effect of mobile phone radiation exposure during pregnancy on embryonic skeletal development at the common used mobile phone frequency in our ***:Sixty female Sprague-Dawley rats were distributed into three experiment groups;control and two exposed groups (1 h/day, 2 h/day exposure groups) (n=20/ each group) and exposed to whole body radiation during gestation period from day 1- day 20. Electromagnetic radiofrequency signal generator was used to generate 1800 MHz GSM-like signals at specific absorption rate value 0.974 W/kg. Animals were exposed during experiment in.a. especial designed Plexiglas box (60 cm× 40 cm× 30 cm). At the end of exposure duration.a. day 20 of pregnancy animals were sacrificed and foetuses were removed, washed with normal saline and processed to Alizarin red and Alcian blue stain. Skeleton specimens were examined under a stereo microscope and skeleton's snaps were being carefully captured by built in camera fixed on the stereo ***:Intrauterine exposure to electromagneticradiation lead to variation in degree of ossification, mineralization, formation of certain parts of the skeleton majorly in head and lesser in other parts. Deformity and absence of formation of certain bones in the head, ribs, and coccygeal vertebrae were recorded in skeleton of foetuses from exposed dams compare to control ***:The electromagnetic radiation exposure during pregnancy alter the processes of bone mineralization.a.d the intensity of bone turnover processes, and thus impact embryonic skeleton formation.a.d development directly.

Influence of Abiotic Elicitors on.a.cumulation of Thymol in Callus Cultures of Origanum vulgare L.

Callus cultures of Origanum vulgare L. were established from leaf discus on Murashige and Skoog （MS） medium con.a.ning different levels of growth regulators, i.e., 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid （2,4-D）, naphthalene acetic acid （n.a., Benzyl Adenine （BA） and Kinetin （Kn） and incubated under dark condition. Callus tissues were employed to study the influence of abiotic elicitors on the production of thymol. Constant weights of callus （300 mg） were cultured on.a.cumulation medium treated separately with each one of elicitors used （50 g/L sucrose, 200 mg/L naC1 and 50 or 100 mg/L proline）. The fresh and dry weights of callus were recorded after six weeks. The result indicated that maximum production of fresh and dry callus weight were 1,014 mg and 46.20 mg respectively achieved at 0.5 mg/L 2,4-D and 3 mg/L BA adding to the medium. Dry callus tissues were extracted with 70% methanol and analyzed by HPLC to determine the concentrations of thymol. The addition of abiotic elicitors to MS medium caused significant reduction in fresh weight of callus compared with control treatment. The concentration of thymol in the callus cultured on control treatment was 146.6 ppm. The data showed that 50 or 100 mg/L proline produced the highest yield of thymol 181.48 ppm and 174.58 ppm respectively, followed by sucrose 162.9 ppm, whereas the treatment with naCI caused reduction in thymol concentration to percen.a.e of 50.56% compared with the control.

Physiological Role of Humic Acid and nicotinamide on Improving Plant Growth, Yield, and Mineral nutrient of Wheat (<i>Triticum durum</i>) Grown under newly Reclaimed Sandy Soil

Humic acid is not a fertilizer as it does not directly provide nutrients to plants, but is a compliment to fertilizer. nicotinamide (Vitamin pp) is a stress-associated compound that can induce and regulate secon.a.y metabolic accumulation.a.d/or the manifestation of defense metabolism in plants. A field experiment was conducted at the experimen.a. station of national Research center at El-nubaria region, Egypt, to study the role of foliar application of humic acid (as soil conditioner 13 cm/l) and/or priming grains in nicotinamide (vitamin pp 5 mg/l) in saving irrigation water, decreasing fertilizer dose of nPK and at the same time increasing durum wheat (Triticum durum) cultivars’ (Beni Sweif-1 and Beni Sweif-3) productivity grown under newly reclaimed sandy soil exposed to drought for three weeks continuously. The results showed that plant treated with humic acid or nicotinamide increased significantly all morphological criteria (plant height, leaves number, fresh and dry weights of shoots), metabolism (photosynthetic pigment, total soluble sugar, total carbohydrates, total amino acids and proline), mineral contents (n, P, K, Ca and Mg) and yield (grain, straw and biology) of both cultivars amended with either recommended or half recommended doses of nPK. Foliar application of humic acid to plant priming in Vitamin pp induced significant increases in.a.l studied parameters (morphology, chemical and yield) of plants amended with recommended or half recommended doses of nPK as compared with control plants. The maximum yields of grain, straw and biology of both cultivars were obtained in response to triple treatment (humic acid + nicotinamide + recommended dose of nPK) or (humic acid + nicotinamide + half recommended dose of nPK) respectively.

Investigation of Self Excited Torsional Vibrations of Different Configurations of Automatic Transmission Systems during En.a.ement

The vehicle drive line system is subjected to torsional vibration from different sources of the system such as;engine fluctuating torque, Hook’s joint and the final drive. However, the essential source is the friction torque induced in the friction elements, during their en.a.ement. In the automatic transmission system, the planetary gear set includes several friction elements such as;clutch, band brakes, and one way clutch. During the en.a.ement, severe torsional vibration is induced by friction which is noticeable by the passengers in the form of what so called vehicle shunt. In present paper, a torsional vibration model for Drive Line (DL) system includes three different configurations of automatic transmission is constructed. A computer program using MATLAB subroutines is implemented to obtain the system response. Effect of system parameters on the dynamic behavior and stability has been investigated. The system damping and the trend of the friction coefficient have an essential effect on the dynamic behavior and stability of the system. The system response is now predictable with change of the system parameters which opens up the opportunity in future to control the vibration level.

Effect of Milk Proteins on Physical and Chemical Characteristics of Crispy Puff Snacks

Dairy proteins included sweet whey solids （SWS）, whey protein concentrate （WPC）, milk protein concentrate （MPC） or sodium caseinate （SC） at level of 10% by weight were extruded with corn, rice, oat flour and other ingredients in.a.twin screw extruder. The functional properties and textural of crispy balls snacks （CBS） have been studied. The results showed that different protein types were significantly affected on functional and chemical properties of extrudate. The bulk density of CBS-SC was the lowest due to the highest expansion, while CBS-WPC retained the most water in the product, whereas, the maximum value of water solubility index was obtained in the CBS-CWP. Results also showed that protein digestibility value of extrudates had higher than non-extruded products. Color analysis of CBS-SC and CBS-SWS products had the highest AE values （P ≤ 0.05）, whereas CBS-SWS was statistically higher than CBS-SC in rank. Also, it was noticed that CBS-SWS had the highest value of browning index. The hardness of all extrudates products was desirable for expanded crispy where ranged from 17.3 n to 12.18 n. Generally, MPC and SC incorporated with cereal flour had acceptable quality characteristics and improved significantly the functional and texture properties of crispy balls products.

Evaluation of Actual Evapotranspiration.a.d Crop Coefficient in Carrot by Remote Sensing Methodology Using Drainage and River Water to Overcome Reduced Water Availability

Searching for alternative methods for traditional irrigation is World trend at days due to a reduction in water and increased of drought due to climate changes therefore farmers need use modern methods of scheduling water and minimizing water losses while also increasing yield. To meet the future increasing demands water and food there is a need to utilize alternative methods to reduce evaporation, transpiration.a.d deep percolation of water. Any countries use recycled water (drain.a.d sewage) and desalination water from the sea or drains to irrigate crops plus computing actual crop evapotranspiration (ETc) so as to calculate the amount of water to apply to a crop. The paper aims to assess the actual evaporation.a.d evaporation coefficient of carrots, by planting carrots in.a.field and the crop was exposed to several sources of water (DW and RW) and comparing ETc, Kc and production.a.ong plots of three sites (A, B and C). The study used two types of irrigation water (drain water (DW) and river water (RW)). The results were to monthly rate and accumulated actual evapotranspiration to C (irrigation by RW only) more than.a.(67% RW and 33% DW) and B (17% RW and 83% DW) via 7% and 58%, respectively. The yield to C more than.a.and B by 17% and 75%, respectively. In conclusion the use of DW can cause a reduction in crop consumptive of carrot crops also causes a reduction in yield, crop length, root length, root size, canopy of crop, number of leaves and biomass of the plant therefore, the drainage water needs to treated before irrigating crops And making use of it to irrigate the fields and fill the shortfall in the amount of water from the river. The drain water helped on filling the water shortage due to climate changes and giving production of carrot crop but less than river water.
