Environmental contamination of food is a worldwide public health problem. Folate mediated one- carbon metabolism plays an important role in epigenetic regulation of gene expression and mutagenesis. Many contaminants in food cause cancer through epigenetic mechanisms and/or DNA instability i.e. default methylation of uracil to thymine, subsequent to the decrease of 5-methylte- trahydrofolate (5 mTHF) pool in the one-carbon metabolism network. Evaluating consequences of an exposure to food contaminants based on systems biology approaches is a promising alternative field of investigation. This report presents a dynamic mathematical modeling for the study of the alteration in the one-carbon metabolism network by environmental factors. It provides a model for predicting “the impact of arbitrary contaminants that can induce the 5 mTHF deficiency. The model allows for a given experimental condition, the analysis of DNA methylation activity and dumping methylation in the de novo pathway of DNA synthesis.

Translational science research development requires life sciences researchers to update their concept on systems integration and data integration. The RESTful API has proven to be very useful in integrating the massive amount of data and tools. This work presents an approach for biological systems analysis based on the semantic web and RESTful API. The integration of this approach in the BioExtract Server engine as a WMS (workflow management system) allows us to apply our work to the linking of several biological levels (metabolic pathway, metabolic network model, genes and publications). This work shows how HPC infrastructure and RESTful API can be an opportunity in Systems Biology and life science research challenges. We present a use case in BioExtract server as an integrated workflow management system. The use case shows how we can extract data to build a mathematical model for a specific biological system. The two workflow examples provided in this work enhance the flexibility in the workflow for reusability. Then any other researcher can customize the same workflow for different gene name or biological process.

Peanut is a worldwide oilseed crop and the need to assess germplasm in a non-destructive manner is important for seed nutritional *** this study,Near Infrared Spectroscopy(NIRS)was applied to rapidly assess germplasm variability from whole seed of 699 samples,field-collected and assembled in four genetic and environmentbased sets:one set of 300 varieties of a core-collection and three sets of 133 genotypes of an interspecific population,evaluated in three environments in a large spatial scale of two countries,Mbalmayo and Bafia in Cameroon and Nioro in Senegal,under rainfed *** elemental spectra were gathered on six subsets of seeds of each sample,after three rotation scans,with a spectral resolution of 16 cm-1over the spectral range of867 nm to 2530 *** were then processed by principal component analysis(PCA)coupled with Partial least squares-discriminant analysis(PLS-DA).As results,a huge variability was found between varieties and genotypes for all NIR wavelength within and between *** magnitude of genetic variation was particularly observed at 11 relevant wavelengths such as 1723 nm,usually related to oil content and fatty acid *** yielded the most chemical attributes in three significant PCs(i.e.,eigenvalues>10),which together captured 93%of the total variation,revealing genetic and environment structure of varieties and genotypes into four clusters,corresponding to the four samples *** pattern of genetic variability of the interspecific population covers,remarkably half of spectrum of the core-collection,turning out to be the ***,a PLS-DA model was developed and a strong accuracy of 99.6%was achieved for the four sets,aiming to classify each seed sample according to environment *** confusion matrix achieved for the two sets of Bafia and Nioro showed 100%of instances classified correctly with 100%at both sensitivity and specificity,confirming that their seed quality was different f

This paper examined the prioritized climate-smart agricultural practices by smallholder farmers,the motivations of adopting climate-smart agricultural practices,the enablers to the successful adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices,and the barriers to the successful adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices in the transitional and savannah agroecological zones of ***,we employed ethnographic research using participatory approaches,including two stakeholder workshops and household surveys with 1061 households in the transitional and savannah agroecological zones of *** weighted average index(WAI)and problem confrontation index(PCI)were used to rank smallholder farmers’perceived enablers to the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices and the barriers affecting climate-smart agricultural practices,*** suggest that the majority of the respondents used a suite of climate-smart agricultural practices,including the timely harvesting of produce and storage,emergency seed banking,appropriate and timely weed and pest control,and early planting as practices to build climate *** majority of smallholder farmers primarily employed climate-smart agricultural practices to improve household food security(96.2%),reduce pests and diseases(95.6%),and obtain higher yields and greater farm income(93.2%).Findings also show that secured land tenure system arrangement,understanding the effects of climate change,and access to sustainable agricultural technologies were ranked the first,second,and third most important enablers to the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices with the WAI values of 2.86,2.75,and 2.70,*** barriers to the successful adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices included incidences of pests and diseases(PCI=2530),inadequate access to agricultural credit(PCI=2502),high cost of improved crop varieties(PCI=2334),and limited government support with farm inputs(PCI=2296).Sm

随着数据流量的指数增长，蜂窝网络运营商面临着一个岌岌可危形势：满足快速增长的流量的同时降低成本并提高每用户平均收入(ARPU)。由于电费占据网络运营商支出的20%0%，这种形势只会随着移动网络消耗能量费用的增加变得更加严峻。在本论文中，我们提出了一种叫做细胞缩放的新技术来减少基站的能量消耗。通过细胞缩放技术,基站可以基于用户的位置动态地调整它们的覆盖半径和发射功率。根据用户的位置和信噪比的需求，发射功率可以设置成最小级别。基站从来都不完全关闭。我们首先分析用户在一天之中每个时间段的行为，因而我们可以建立基站密度和用户密度之间的关系。然后根据在一天之中每个时间段的用户数量的所有信息，我们决定发射功率以满足每个用户的需求和保证服务质量。我们也提出提高基站某些部分的能源利用率，如冷却部分，帮助我们节省高达25%的基站消耗的总能量。仿真显示，在不降低用户服务质量的前提下，本文提出的算法能够节省高达40%的网络能量消耗。

The pneumococcal septic arthritis is uncommon in healthy adults. In most cases, it occurs in patients with immune deficiency. Its exceptional location at the wrist can maintain doubt with rheumatic causes which are more frequent. IgG4 deficiency found in this patient was the only cause that could be impugned. We report the case of a young woman of 46 years without any evident cause of immunodeficiency and any particular risk factor, managed for septic arthritis of the wrist due to Streptococcus pneumoniae. This case without any apparent risk factors demonstrates that pneumococcal infection in a more distant articulation of the ENT is still possible. Scan has been a very significant contribution in confirming the positive diagnosis that leads to surgical drainage. The approach of the systematic search for the gateway must be done. In the study of the patient’s immune status, the realization of the protein profile could be interesting and then guide the practitioner in the decision to vaccinate the patient against Streptococcus pneumoniae if he was not. We recommend looking always for a cause of immunodeficiency including primary Ig defiencies even among adult.

Double fracture-dislocations of the thumb are rare. Only a single case report of a simultaneous extraarticular fracture of the base of the first metacarpal and dislocation of the metacarpophalangeal joint has been previously reported. We report the second case report of this injury in a 20-year-old man. The patient had an excellent outcome after treatment.

Elbow dislocation associated with ipsilateral Galeazzi fracture is a rare pattern of injury. Only seven cases were reported in the literature. We reported another case in a 42 years old man. Closed reduction of the dislocated elbow joint was immediately performed under sedation. Because the patient did not want surgery for radius, it was decided to manage the fracture conservatively. The lack of clinical improvement motivated operative treatment for Galeazzi fracture 56 days after injury. We have discussed the treatment option and the result obtained. The prognosis of this associated injury is related to the DRUJ dislocation, which should not be misdiagnosed.

The solar chimney can generate airflow through the living space of the building to provide cooling. Hence, solar energy represents the best renewable, environmentally friendly source of energy that can be used for heating and cooling of houses. The present paper reports the numerical study of the performance of the mixed convection in the associated hybrid Photovoltaic/Thermal chimneys integrated into building for natural habitat ventilation. The front side glass plate of the chimneys is heated by a non-uniform daily solar radiation flux. Air is considered to be the cooling fluid. The stream fucntion-vorticity formulation with a finite difference numerical discretization solution scheme has been adopted. The system of algebraic governing equations is solved by Thomas algorithm method. The aim of the present paper is to study and to predict the dynamic fields and particularly of the mass flow rate of the air thermosiphon drawing in the associated hybrid Photovoltaic-Thermal chimneys integrated into a building for passive cooling in the habitats. The effects of the governing parameters, namely Reynolds number (30 ≤ Re ≤ 200), Rayleigh number (103 ≤ Ra≤ 105), the integrated chimney width on the fluid flow and the heat transfer characteristics, are studied in detail. The local Nusselt number, streamlines, isotherms, PV cells electrical efficiency and the outlet velocity at the top of the channels are the results represented versus the above controlling parameters.

Edible Wild Fruit Highly Consumed during Food Shortage Period in Togo： State of Knowledge and Conservation Status

The aim of this work is to inventory Edible Wild Fruit Species （EWFS） highly consumed by local people during food shortage periods in Togo. Ethnobotanical surveys were carried out in four ecological zones （I, II, III ＆ IV） involving a sample of 433 persons from 29 ethnic groups. Semi-structured interview, field observation, group discussions were used to collect data. Food shortage periods were defined using the agricultural calendar of main crops in three ecological zones （I, II, ＆ III）. One hundred and one EWFS belonging to 84 genera and 39 families were inventoried. The three main types of use of the EWFS were direct consumption, condiments and medicines. Twenty among the 101 EWFS recorded were highly consumed during food shortage periods with respectively 15 EWFS in ecological I, 14 in zone 1I and 12 in ecological zone III. All edible fruits consumed during food shortage periods were fresh fruits with abundant pulp. Six fruit species were sold to bring income to local households. These species were those which benefit from conservation measures through their husbandry in agroforestry systems.
