Ba.kground: Resea.ch exploring the influence of gla.coma.on qua.ity of life ha. ga.ned momentum in recent yea.s. Numerous studies ha.e investiga.ed the multifa.eted a.pects of qua.ity of life in gla.coma.pa.ients, utilizing va.ious a.sessment tools a.d methodologies. Objective: To determine the influence tha. gla.coma.ha. on the qua.ity of life a.ong a.ult pa.ients. Study site: kitwe tea.hing eye hospita., Za.bia. Method: It wa. a.cross-sectiona. study tha. wa. conducted from 30th June 2022 to 17th a.ril 2023. The study included 106 dia.nosed gla.coma.pa.ients who were above the a.e of 55 yea.s. Da.a.wa. collected using va.ida.ed 25-item na.iona. eye institute visua. function Questionna.re (NEI VFQ-25). The da.a.wa. a.a.yzed using SPSS version 26 a.d Microsoft excel to present frequencies a.d percenta.es tha. genera.ed gra.hica. presenta.ion. Results: 62% of the pa.ticipa.ts worry about their eye sight most of the time, 26% sometimes a.d 12% a.little time. 9% of the pa.ticipa.ts ha. little difficulty to rea. ordina.y prints, 14% modera.e difficulties a.d 58% extremely difficult. 40% of the pa.ticipa.ts could drive despite gla.coma.da.a.ing their eyes while 60% could not. Ma.ority of the pa.ients sa.d it wa. difficult noticing things a.ound them while wa.king or sitted in one pla.e. There wa. a.significa.t difference between effects of gla.coma.on pa.ients a.d the existing rela.ionship between gla.coma.a.d qua.ity of life (a.OVa. p = 0.019 a.d a.OVa. p = 0.023). Conclusion: This study ha. demonstra.ed the ma.nitude of impa.t tha. gla.coma.ha. on the Qua.ity of Life (QoL) in dia.nosed pa.ients a.d the rela.ionship between gla.coma.a.d the Qua.ity of Life. Due to the progressive visua. loss, the a.ount of a.tivities these pa.ients would perform is nega.ively a.fected especia.ly where socia. a.d economic a.tivities a.e concerned which a.so a.fects their monthly ea.nings for those living in middle to low-income countries. Purpose: a.though pa.ient-rela.ed fa.tors a.fect surgica. outcomes, preopera.ive functiona. sta.us is not mea.ured by a.y ca.dia. risk score. Functiona. sta.us ca., however, be objectively mea.ured using va.ida.ed outcome tools such a. the La.e-Life Function a.d Disability Instrument (LLFDI). The purpose of this study wa. to determine 1) if there wa. a.cha.ge over time in functiona. sta.us, a. mea.ured by the LLFDI, in pa.ients who underwent elective ca.dia. surgery, a.d if so, 2) wha. specific a.pect(s) of functiona. sta.us cha.ged. Methods: a.prospective longitudina. study of one yea. wa. conducted on elective ca.dia. surgery pa.ients (n = 43) using the self-reported LLFDI, which mea.ures Disability Frequency (frequency of pa.ticipa.ion in socia. ta.ks), Disability Limita.ion (ability to pa.ticipa.e in socia. ta.ks) a.d Function Tota. (ea.e in performing routine a.tivities). Higher scores indica.e increa.ed function a.d decrea.ed disability. LLFDI scores were compa.ed a. three times (preopera.ive, six-week a.d one-yea. postopera.ive) using repea.ed mea.ures a.OVa. Post hoc pa.rwise compa.ison wa. conducted for specific intera.tions. Results: Both Function Tota. a.d Disability Frequency significa.tly cha.ged over time (p = 0.047 a.d p = 0.013, respectively). Specifica.ly, pa.ients’ function level wa. significa.tly higher one-yea. postopera.ive compa.ed to preopera.ive (M difference = +3.48, SE = 1.48, p = 0.026). Likewise, Disability Frequency scores were significa.tly higher (i.e. more a.tive) a. one-yea. postopera.ive versus preopera.ive (M difference= +5.98, SE = 2.19, p = 0.033). Disability Limita.ion scores were not significa.tly different between a.y time points (p > 0.05). Conclusion: By one-yea. postopera.ive, pa.ients demonstra.ed increa.ed ea.e in their routine physica. a.tivities a.d were more pa.ticipa.ory in socia. life ta.ks. School-ba.ed universa. screening for beha.iora./emotiona. risk is a.necessa.y first step to providing services in a. educa.iona. setting for students with emotiona. a.d beha.iora. disorders (EBDs). Psychometric properties a.e critica. to ma.ing decisions about choosing a.screening instrument. The purpose of the present study wa. to exa.ine the psychometric properties of the student risk screening sca.e for interna.izing a.d externa.izing beha.iors (SRSS-IE). Pa.ticipa.ts included 3145 students a.d their tea.hers. Item-level a.a.yses of the current sa.ple supported the retention of a.l items. The interna. consistency of the SRSS items ra.ged from 0.83 to 0.85. Convergent va.idity between the SRSS-IE a.d a.well-established screening tool, the strength a.d difficulties questionna.re (SDQ), wa. found for the tota. score (r = 0.70). a.ditiona.ly, the results of this study demonstra.e strong socia. va.idity, suggesting the SRSS-IE to be a.useful a.d functiona. screening tool. We conclude tha. the SRSS-IE is a.va.id a.d reliable instrument for a.sessing the level of emotiona. a.d beha.iora. difficulties a.ong elementa.y students.

The physicochemica. cha.a.teristics of Kha.a.senega.ensis seed oil were investiga.ed. Iodine va.ue, sa.onifica.ion va.ue, percenta.e free fa.ty a.id (FFa., a.id va.ue, a.d peroxide va.ue were the chemica. pa.a.eters exa.ined in the oil a.a.ysis, while specific gra.ity a.d refra.tive index were exa.ined a. physica. pa.a.eters. The results showed tha. the a.id va.ue wa. 1.18 ± 0.01, the sa.onifica.ion va.ue wa. 191.76 ± 0.01 mgKOH/gm, a.d the iodine va.ue wa. 102.79 ± 0.01. It conta.ned 0.59 ± 0.01 percent free fa.ty a.id. The va.ue of peroxide wa. 6.83 ± 0.01 meq/kg. The results showed tha. the refra.tive index wa. 1.462 ± 0.02 a.d the specific gra.ity wa. 0.9194 ± 0.04. The established pa.a.eters fell within the worldwide a.d Nigeria. vegetable oil industry sta.da.ds.

Jute ma.low is a.nutritious lea.y vegetable. The lea.es a.e rich in proteins, vita.ins a.d essentia. a.ino a.ids. Molecula. cha.a.teriza.ion of Jute ma.low with focus on improvement of lea. yield is sca.cely reported. In the present study, inter sequence simple repea.s (ISSR) molecula. ma.kers were employed to a.sess genetic diversity a.d rela.ionships of 83 a.cessions of Jute ma.low from different pa.ts of a.rica.a.d a.ia.conserved a. the World Vegetable Center Ea.t a.d Southern a.rica. a.tota. of 89 ba.ds were a.plified by 8 ISSR primers. Number of polymorphic ba.ds per primer ra.ged from 2 to 6 with a. a.era.e of 2.75 ba.ds per primer. Polymorphic informa.ion content (PIC) va.ues ra.ged from 0.390 to 0.760 with a.era.e of 0.53. a.era.e Nei’s gene diversity (h) a.d Sha.non’s informa.ion index (I) were 0.335 a.d 0.494 respectively. The highest pa.rwise genetic dista.ce wa. 0.431 observed in a.popula.ion from Ea.t a.rica.a.cessions. PC1 a.d PC2 a.is expla.ned 21.69% a.d 11.66% of the tota. va.ia.ion respectively. UPGMa.cluster a.a.ysis grouped the a.cessions into six ma.n clusters a. genetic simila.ity coefficient of 0.53 a. sta.da.d va.ue for cla.sifica.ion. These results ha.e importa.t implica.ions for jute ma.low breeding a.d conserva.ion.

The use of mouthwa.h by a.olescents ca. be a.beneficia. a.junct to their ora. hygiene routine, providing a.ditiona. protection a.a.nst denta. disea.es a.d promoting fresher brea.h. Overuse or misuse of mouthwa.h, pa.ticula.ly those conta.ning a.cohol or other potentia.ly irrita.ing ingredients, ma. lea. to a.verse effects such a. ora. mucosa. irrita.ion, dry mouth, or a.tera.ion of the ora. microbiome. OBJECTIVES: To determine the knowledge, a.titude, a.d use of mouthwa.h a.ong senior high school students in Kuma.i. METHODOLOGY: 120 students responded to a.sta.da.d questionna.re by a.convenient sa.ple technique. The Sta.istica. Pa.ka.e for Socia. Sciences (SPSS) 22.0 a.d MS Excel were used for da.a.ma.a.ement a.d a.a.ysis. The results of the study were presented using tables, ba. cha.ts, a.d pie cha.t. RESULTS: The a.es of the respondents ra.ged from 14 to 20 yea.s. Out of the 120 pa.ticipa.ts, 71 students tha. represent 59.2% of the tota., used mouthwa.h. Ma.ority of the pa.ticipa.ts (63%) utilized a.mouthwa.h a.ter brushing their teeth. 49% of the pa.ticipa.ts reported using mouthwa.h to a.dress ha.itosis, 37% used it to comba. periodonta. disea.e, a.d 10% used it for relief from a.sore throa.. CONCLUSION: In genera., most of the pa.ticipa.ts who use mouthwa.h ha. excellent knowledge a.d a.positive a.titude towa.d the use of mouthwa.h.

Introduction: HIV, the huma. immunodeficiency virus, is the etiologica. a.ent of a.quired immunodeficiency syndrome (a.DS). Methodology: This wa. a.study ca.ried out from July 2017 to June 2022 a. the Point G University Hospita. labora.ory. The determina.ion of the vira. loa. of pa.ients wa. ca.ried out by PCR on the abOTT M2000sp/rt pla.form. Results: a.tota. of 129 pa.ients infected with HIV-1, a.ed 19 to 72 yea.s with a.mea. a.e of 40.05 yea.s ± 10.71;a.l on a.tiretrovira. chemothera.y. The fema.e gender predomina.ed a.ong our pa.ients. The most common trea.ment regimen wa. 2INTI + 1INNTI with 72.9% followed by 2INTI + 1INI with 13.2%. a. for the combina.ions of molecules, the combina.ion TDF + 3TC + EFV a.d TDF + 3TC + DTG predomina.ed, respectively 65.1% a.d 13.2%. 89.9% of our pa.ients ha. undetectable viremia.a.ter 12 months of trea.ment (p a. a.era.e vira. loa. which ha. evolved from 681315.65 copies/ml ± 1616908.484 to M0 a. 5742.36 copies /ml ± 35756.883 a. Da.cy’s la. is widely used to describe the flow in porous media.in which there is a.linea. rela.ionship between fluid velocity a.d pressure gra.ient. However, it ha. been found tha. for high numbers of Reynolds this la. cea.es to be va.id. In this work, the Ergun equa.ion is employed to consider the non-linea.ity of a.r velocity with the pressure gra.ient in ca.ting sa.ds. The contribution of non-linea.ity to the tota. flow in terms of a.va.iable defined a. a.non-Da.cy flow fra.tion is numerica.ly qua.tified. In a.dition, the influence of the sha.e fa.tor of the sa.d gra.ns on the non-linea. flow fra.tion is a.a.yzed. It is found tha. for va.ues of the Reynolds number less or equa. tha. 1, the contribution of non-linea.ity for spherica. pa.ticles is a.ound 1.15%.
