Constructing hierarchical arrays with core-shell metal oxides@metal coordination polymers for efficient and stable overall water splitting

Developing non-precious metal-based bifunctional electrocatalysts capable for both hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is essential to achieve efficient water electrolysis for mass hydrogen production,however it remains ***,we report the synthesis of hierarchical nanorod arrays comprising core-shell structured P-doped NimoO4@NiFe-coordination polymer(denoted as P-NimoO4@NiFeCP)as bifunctional electrocatalysts for water ***,we systematically investigate the influence of NiFeCP shell thickness on electrocatalytic activity,manifesting the presence of strong interfacial synergetic effect between P-NimoO4 and NiFeCP for boosting both the HER and *** advantageous hierarchical architectures and unique core-shell structures,optimized P-NimoO_(4)@NiFeCP-7.3(7.3 is the shell thickness in nm)requires overpotentials of merely 256 and 297 mV to yield a current density of 1000 mA·cm^(−2)for the HER and OER in 1 m KOH,*** importantly,it can serve as a bifunctional electrocatalyst for efficient and sustainable overall water electrolysis,delivering large current densities of 500 and 1000 mA·cm^(−2)at low cell voltages of 1.804 and 1.865 V,along with high stability of over 500 h at 1000 mA·cm−2,demonstrating the great potential of this electrocatalyst towards practical applications.

A high-resolution customized numerical model is used to analyze the water transport in the three major water passages between the Andaman Sea(AS)and the Bay of Bengal,i.e.,the Preparis Channel(PC),the Ten Degree Channel(TDC),and the Great Channel(GC),based on the daily averaged simulation results ranging from 2010 to *** analysis and Empirical Orthogonal Function(EOF)methods are employed to investigate the spatiotemporal variability of the water exchange and controlling *** results of model simulation indicate that the net average transports of the PC and GC,as well as their linear trend,are opposite to that of the *** indicates that the PC and the GC are the main inflow channels of the AS,while the TDC is the main outflow channel of the *** transport variability is most pronounced at surface levels and between 100 m and 200 m depth,likely affected by monsoons and circulation.A 182.4-d semiannual variability is consistently seen in all three channels,which is also evident in their second principal *** on sea level anomalies and EOF analysis results,this is primarily due to equatorial winds during the monsoon transition period,causing eastward movement of Kelvin waves along the AS coast,thereby affecting the spatiotemporal characteristics of the flow in the *** first EOF of the PC flow field section shows a split at 100 m deep,likely due to *** first EOF of the TDC flow field section is steady but has potent seasonal oscillations in its time ***,the first EOF of the GC flow field section indicates a stable surface inflow,probably influenced by the equatorial Indian Ocean’s eastward current.

Ferroelastic hybrid perovskite materials have been revealed the significance in the applications of switches,sensors,actuators,***,it remains a challenge to design high-temperature ferroelastic to meet the requirements for the practical ***,we reported an one-dimensional organicinorganic hybrid perovskites(OIHP)(3-methylpyrazolium)CdCl_(3)(3-mBCC),which possesses a mmmF2/m ferroelastic phase transition at 263 ***,utilizing crystal engineering,we replace-CH_(3) with-NH_(2) and-H,which increases the intermolecular force between organic cations and inorganic *** phase transition temperature of(3-aminopyrazolium)CdCl_(3)(3-abCC),and(pyrazolium)CdCl_(3)(BCC)increased by 73 K and 10 K,***,BCC undergoes an unconventional inverse temperature symmetry breaking(ISTB)ferroelastic phase transition around 273 ***,it transforms from a high symmetry low-temperature paraelastic phase(point group 2/m)to a low symmetry high-temperature ferroelastic phase(point group ī)originating from the rare mechanism of displacement of organic cations phase *** means that crystal BCC retains in ferroelastic phase above 273 K until melting point(446 K).Furthermore,characteristic ferroelastic domain patterns on crystal BCC are confirmed with polarized optical *** study enriches the molecular mechanism of ferroelastics in the family of organic-inorganic hybrids and opens up a new avenue for exploring high-temperature ferroic materials.

The traditional plasma etching process for defining micro-LED pixels could lead to significant sidewall *** near sidewall regions act as non-radiative recombination centers and paths for current leakage,significantly deteriorating device *** this study,we demonstrated a novel selective thermal oxidation(STO)method that allowed pixel definition without undergoing plasma damage and subsequent dielectric *** annealing in ambient air oxidized and reshaped the LED structure,such as p-layers and InGaN/GaN multiple quantum ***,the pixel areas beneath the pre-deposited SiO_(2)layer were selectively and effectively *** was demonstrated that prolonged thermal annealing time enhanced the insulating properties of the oxide,significantly reducing LED leakage ***,applying a thicker SiO_(2)protective layer minimized device resistance and boosted device efficiency *** the STO method,InGaN green micro-LED arrays with 50-,30-,and 10-μm pixel sizes were manufactured and *** results indicated that after 4 h of air annealing and with a 3.5-μm SiO_(2)protective layer,the 10-μm pixel array exhibited leakage currents density 1.2×10^(-6)A/cm^(2)at-10 V voltage and a peak on-wafer external quantum efficiency of~6.48%.This work suggests that the STO method could become an effective approach for future micro-LED manufacturing to mitigate adverse LED efficiency size effects due to the plasma etching and improve device ***-LEDs fabricated through the STO method can be applied to micro-displays,visible light communication,and optical interconnect-based *** planar pixel geometry will provide more possibilities for the monolithic integration of driving circuits with ***,the STO method is not limited to micro-LED fabrication and can be extended to design other III-nitride devices,such as photodetectors,laser diodes,high-electron-mobility transistors

The corrosion behavior and mechanism of 3Ni weathering steel in a simulated oceanic atmospheric environment are investigated in order to comprehend the impacts of La,as determined through electrochemical analysis and rust layer *** results of this study demonstrate that the addition of La enhances the corrosion resistance of 3Ni weathering steel in the marine atmospheric environment,thereby reducing the corrosion rate and improving the protection of the rust *** influence of La on corrosion resistance can be attributed to two primary ***,La functions as a grain refiner,minimizing the potential difference of the micro-regions on the substrate surface,thereby significantly reducing the corrosion of bare steel in the marine ***,La inhibits the process of Fe_(3)O_(4) oxidation back toγ-FeOOH during corrosion at the local site,thus decreasing the formation ofγ-FeOOH and enhancing the charge transfer *** research work may serve as a reference for expanding the application of rare earth elements in the field of weathering steel.
