Polyvinyl alcohol（PVA） of two molecular weights was used to prepare shape memory polymers based on chemical-crosslinking by *** chemical-crosslinking was done in the presence of 2-carboxyethvl acrylate oligomers（CEA） and nano-filler[multi-wall carbon nanotubes（mWCNT） and functionalized carbon nanotubes（mWCNT-NH;）]followed by radiation-induced *** analysis of the material revealed an increase in the gel fraction and a significant reduction in swelling of the nanocomposite material that was crosslinked with both glutaraldehyde and ionizing *** radiation crosslinked nanocomposites demonstrated approximately a 90%gelation over a range of 50-300 kGy irradiation *** scanning electron microscopy（SEm） analysis showed a homogeneous distribution of nanocomposites in the composite *** thermal properties of radiation crosslinked（PVA/CEA） and（PVA-CEA）-nano-fillers were investigated by a thermogravimetric analysis（TGA）.The mechanical properties were examined via dynamic mechanical analysis（DmA） which showed significant variation because of the addition of *** radiation crosslinked materials show good shape memory behavior that may be useful in many applications based on the range of temperatures at which Tan 8 appears.

Inulin is a prebiotic dietary fiber that plays an integral role in producing functional dairy products with improved health benefits. Therefore, the objectives of this study are as follows: extract and purify inulin from chicory roots and globe artichoke roots;evaluate the physicochemical, functional properties and functional groups of the purified inulin;determine the functional properties of chicory roots inulin-maltodextrin and globe artichoke roots inulin-maltodextrin and compare it with that of the commercial inulin;examine the impact of various inulin on physiochemical, microstructural, textural, sensory characteristics and as prebiotic dietary fiber on probiotic bacteria’s viability of stirred bio-yogurt. The characteristics of the microstructure were investigated by scanning electron microscopy and, Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy to detect the functional group. The resulting inulin exhibited a high yield and purity along with enhanced functional properties. Stirred bio-yogurt fortified with chicory roots inulin or globe artichoke roots inulin showed enhanced physicochemical, microstructural, microbiological, and overall sensorial acceptability followed by chicory roots inulin-maltodextrin or globe artichoke roots inulin-maltodextrin and the commercial inulin as compared to the control. Stirred bio-yogurt samples can offer various health benefits and wide applications as supplement of prebiotic dietary fiber in dairy industry.

Chalcone derivatives are of immense importance owing to their superior pharmacological profile. minor changes in their structures create high degree of diversity that results in a broader spectrum of biological activities. The present research paper presents the synthesis of 3-（4-chloro-3-nitrophenyl）-1-phenylprop-2-en-1-one chalcone（I）, single crystal XRD analysis and the evaluation of its possible biological activities like cytotoxic（LD（50） = 5.40 ug/m L）and antileishmanial（LD（50） = 0.81 ug/m L） activities. The results indicate the tested chalcone（I）shows superior inhibition values against leishmanial promastigotes. Further, the possible interaction sites of chalcone（I） with Try R enzyme involved in the redox metabolism of the leishmanial parasite were determined using docking simulation technique. Docking computations demonstrate that the compound establishes prominent binding interactions with the key residues of Try R and possesses the potential to effectively inhibit the catalytic activities of enzyme. Thus the results suggest that the chalcone（I） can serve as a potential scaffold for the treatment of leishmaniasis and deserve further development.

The present research paper presents the synthesis, characterization, biological and computational studies of 4-(benzylideneamino) benzoic acid derivatives(3a~3g). Derivatives 3a~3c displayed best antidiabetic potential with a glucose-lowering effect compared to the reference drug Glibenclamide. Biochemical parameters including plasma glucose, serum triglycerides, cholesterol, alanine amino transferase and aspartate amino transferase levels showed significant alterations in concentrations relative to the control. Similarly, the derivatives 3a, 3d and 3e displayed potent in vitro antibacterial potential. molecular docking simulations delineated that the ligands and complexes were stabilized at the active site by electrostatic and hydrophobic forces, consistent with the corresponding experimental results. In silico study of the binding pattern predicted that the synthesized ligands, 3d and 3a could serve as a potential surrogate for hit-to-lead generation and the design of novel antibacterial drugs.

This paper deals with devising robust nonlinear control strategy for benchmark system of scaled Yak-54 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Authors considered the applications of sliding mode controllers to the longitudinal flight dynamics of the Yak-54 UAV for executing maneuvers over full flight envelope. Unlike the classical technique of the two sliding surfaces for the two loops a single surface is selected for the level flight. Control of unmanned aerial vehicle involves the problem of incomplete measurements, modeling uncertainties and external disturbances which makes flight dynamic analysis and control system design difficult. We present an innovative robust control strategy based on powerful tools provided by the theory of sliding mode control algorithms. First order sliding mode controller are designed but they provide chattering at the control input thus a non linear second order super twisting controller is used to provide chattering free control with improved robust stabilization.

In this work, the authors consider the applications of sliding mode controllers to the longitudinal flight dynamics of the benchmark system of scaled Yak-54 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for executing maneuvers over full flight *** of unmanned aerial vehicle involves the problem of incomplete measurements, modeling uncertainties and external disturbances. Sliding mode control provides good precision and robustness to the aforementioned factors. First order sliding mode controller are designed but they provide chattering at the control input thus a non linear second order super twisting controller is used to provide chattering free control with improved performance for the robust stabilization of pitch angle and control of its altitude. The simulation results indicate good tracking and regulation control of the vehicle.

We have utilized the relative intensity of magnesium lines originated from the mg I at 285.2 nm and mg II at 280.27, 279.55 nm to measure the plasma electron temperature. The plasma was produced via interaction of Nd:YAG laser with solid aluminum target contains traces of magnesium. The magnesium lines were found to suffer from optical thickness which manifests itself on the form of scattered points around the Saha-Boltzmann line. We have utilized a simple method used for rapid calculation to the amount of absorption to these lines via comparison of the electron densities as deduced from magnesium lines to that evaluated from the optically thin hydrogen Hα line at 656.27 nm appeared in the same spectra under the same condition. A correction to the magnesium spectral lines intensities was carried out;hence the corrected temperatures were re-evaluated. The measurements were repeated at different delay times ranging from 1 to 5 μsec. This work emphasizes on the importance of correcting the emitted spectral line intensity against the effect of self absorption before using them in the calculation of plasma electron temperature in laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) experiments.

The present study reports the duration of immunity and protective efficacy of Peste des Petits Ruminants(PPR) vaccine(Nigerian strain 75/1) in sheep and goats. A total of 105 sheep and goats were divided into three groups A, B and C. Group A received normal recommended dose(1.0 ml) of PPR vaccine, group B received half dose(0.5 ml) of PPR vaccine and group C was kept as unvaccinated control group in contact with vaccinated animals. The post vaccination dynamics of antibodies against PPR virus was studied. It was found that significant antibody titres persisted for 3 years post vaccination in sheep and goats vaccinated with either full dose or half dose of PPR vaccine. The challenge protection studies were carried out in experimental animals at 24 and 36 month post vaccination. The vaccinates withstood challenge and were found completely resistant clinically and virologically to virulent PPR virus for 24 and 36 months post vaccination. The unvaccinated control animals developed typical clinical signs of PPR and the challenged virus was detected in ocular, nasal and oral secretions of these animals. This study demonstrated that a single immunization with PPR vaccine conferred solid protection in sheep and goats for 3 years.

This paper investigates the strength and deformation characteristics of reinforced normal and high-strength concrete rectangular beams which failed in shear and repaired by external bonding of carbon fiber and steel plate. Five simply supported reinforced concrete beams with shear reinforcement are tested, three of which are made with NSC (normal-strength concrete) and the other two with HSC (high-strength concrete). The span of the simply supported beams is 0.9 m with 100 mm wide by 200 mm deep cross section. All five beams are tested under four-point bending. Careful repair process is adopted and proved successful. The aim is to restore or increase shear strength of these beams and to monitor their post-repair load-deflection behavior. The effect of concrete compressive strength on the behavior and strength of beams before and after repair is also investigated. Shear cracks patterns and their evolution are observed and discussed.
