MODELING THE ROLE OF DISSOLVED OXYGEN- DEPENDENT BACTERIA ON BIODEGRADATION OF ORGANIC POLLUTANTS

In this paper, a nonlinear mathematical model is proposed and analyzed to study the role of dissolved oxygen （DO）-dependent bacteria on biodegradation of one or two organic pollutant（s） in a water body. In the case of two organic pollutant（s）, it is assumed that the one is fast degrading and the other is slow degrading and both are discharged into the water body from outside with constant rates. The density of bacteria is assumed to follow logistic model and its growth increases due to biodegradation of one or two organic pollutant（s） as well as with the increase in the concentration of DO. The model is analyzed using the stability theory of differential equations and by simulation. The model analysis shows that the concentration（s） of one or both organic pollutant（s） decrease（s） as the density of bacteria increases. It is noted that for very large density of bacteria, the organic pollutant（s） may be removed ahnost completely from the water body. It is found that simulation analysis confirms the analytical results. The results obtained in this paper are in line with the experimental observations published in literature.

This letter critically evaluates Jiang et al's article on the differentiation of benign and malignant liver lesions using Emax and platelet *** notable findings,significant methodological and interpretative limitations are *** study lacks detailed assay conditions for Emax measurement,employs inadequate statistical methods without robust multivariate analysis,and does not provide clinically relevant threshold *** nomogram's reliance on Emax as a major diagnostic contributor is questionable due to attenuation in hepatocellular carcinoma patients with ***,the study's limitations,such as selection bias and confounding factors,are not adequately *** research should adopt more rigorous methodologies,including prospective studies with larger cohorts and standardized protocols for biomarker measurement,to enhance validity and clinical applicability.

The advent of Big Data has led to the rapid growth in the usage of parallel clustering algorithms that work over distributed computing frameworks such as MPI,MapReduce,and *** important step for any parallel clustering algorithm is the distribution of data amongst the cluster *** step governs the methodology and performance of the entire *** typically use random,or a spatial/geometric distribution strategy like kd-tree based partitioning and grid-based partitioning,as per the requirements of the ***,these strategies are generic and are not tailor-made for any specific parallel clustering *** this paper,we give a very comprehensive literature survey of MPI-based parallel clustering algorithms with special reference to the specific data distribution strategies they *** also propose three new data distribution strategies namely Parameterized Dimensional Split for parallel density-based clustering algorithms like DBSCAN and OPTICS,Cell-Based Dimensional Split for dGridSLINK,which is a grid-based hierarchical clustering algorithm that exhibits efficiency for disjoint spatial distribution,and Projection-Based Split,which is a generic distribution *** of these preserve spatial locality,achieve disjoint partitioning,and ensure good data load *** experimental analysis shows the benefits of using the proposed data distribution strategies for algorithms they are designed for,based on which we give appropriate recommendations for their usage.

We study self-conjugate dark matter(DM)particles interacting primarily with Standard Model(SM)leptons in an effective field theoretical *** consider SM gauge-invariant effective contact interactions between Majorana fermion,real scalar and real vector DM with leptons by evaluating the Wilson coefficients appropriate for interaction terms up to dimension 8,and obtain constraints on the parameters of the theory from the observed relic density,indirect detection observations and from the DM-electron scattering cross-sections in direct detection *** energy LEP data has been used to study sensitivity in the pair production of low mass(≤80 GeV)DM *** production of DM particles of mass≥50 GeV in association with mono-photons at the proposed ILC has rich potential to probe such effective operators.

OBJECTIVES:The days and weeks following childbirth,the postpartum period,is a critical phase in the lives of mothers and newborn babies due to risk of postpartum complications associated with *** plants have been used judiciously during pregnancy to assist childbirth and for postpartum care in various ethnic communities around the *** are extensively used for prophylaxis and management of postpartum complications in the Jodhpur District of Rajasthan,*** aim of this study was to document use of such ethnomedicinal *** AND METHODS:Survey was conducted to document the use of ethnomedicinal *** selected plants were searched for reports on their pharmacological activities on Scopus and Google scholar RESULTS:Use of eighteen ethnomedicinal plants was documented for the prophylaxis and management of postpartum complications from local ***:Zingiber officinale,Asparagus racemosus,Trapa natans,Acacia senegal,Trachyspermum ammi,Piper longum,and Symplocos racemosa possessing galactagogue,uterine tonic,diuretic,antiemetic,and wound healing activity were found to be most commonly used ethnomedicinal plants.

An idiopathic renal arteriovenous(AV) fistula is a rare malformation of the kidney that may present insidiously with heart failure or *** treatment may be challenging due to large fistula size that may limit endovascular *** authors report a case of an 85-year-old Caucasian woman who presented with acute heart failure and was found to have a right renal AV *** she had no prior history of renal intervention or trauma,a diagnosis of idiopathic renal AV fistula was *** was managed by endoluminal occlusion using multiple stainless steel coils and Amplatzer vascular plug II *** follow-up computed tomography showed complete occlusion of the *** report highlights the late presentation of this rare disease and presents the utility of the combination of coils and Amplatzer device for management of a large *** also reiterates that even if large,these fistulas can be managed by endovascular occlusion.
