The continuous rise of cO2 concentrations in the atmosphere is reducing plant nutritional quality for herbivores and indirectly affects their *** whitefly(Bemisia tabaci,Gennadius)is a major worldwide pest of agricultural crops causing significant yield *** study investigated the plant‐mediated indirect effects of elevated cO2 on the feeding behavior and life history of *** Mediterranean *** were grown under elevated and ambient cO2 concentrations for 3 weeks after which plants were either used to monitor the feeding behavior of whiteflies using the Electrical Penetration Graph technique or to examine fecundity and fertility of *** leaf carbon,nitrogen,phenols and protein contents were also analyzed for each *** tabaci feeding on plants exposed to elevated cO2 showed a longer phloem ingestion and greater fertility compared to those exposed to ambient cO2 suggesting that *** is capable of compensating for the plant nutritional ***,this study looked at the transmission of the virus Tomato yellow leaf curl virus(Begomovirus)by *** exposing source and receptor tomato plants to ambient or elevated cO2 levels before or after virus transmission *** indicate that *** transmitted the virus at the same rate independent of the cO2 levels and plant ***,we conclude that *** Mediterranean species prevails over the difficulties that changes in cO2 concentrations may cause and it is predicted that under future climate change conditions,*** would continue to be considered a serious threat for agriculture worldwide.

Background Increasing resilience is a priority in modern pig *** research shows that general resilience can be quantified via variability in longitudinal *** collection of such longitudinal data on weight,feed intake and feeding behaviour in pigs has been facilitated by the development of technologies such as automated feeding *** goal of this study was to investigate resilience traits,which were estimated as deviations from longitudinal weight,feed intake and feeding behaviour data during the finishing phase.A dataset with 324,207 records between the age of 95 and 155 days on 5,939 Pietrain pigs with known pedigree and genomic information was *** provided guidelines for a rigid quality control of longitudinal body weight data,as we found that outliers can significantly affect *** growth curve analysis,linear modelling and trajectory analyses were used for quantifying resilience *** To our knowledge,this is the first study comparing resilience traits from longitudinal body weight,feed intake and feeding behaviour data in *** demonstrated that the resilience traits are lowly to moderately heritable for deviations in body weight(h2=2.9%–20.2%),in feed intake(9.4%–23.3%)and in feeding behaviour(16.2%–28.3%).Additionally,these traits have good predictive abilities in cross-validation *** in individual body weight and feed intake trajectories are highly correlated(rg=0.78)with low to moderate favourable genetic correlations with feed conversion ratio(rg=0.39–0.49).Lastly,we showed that some resilience traits,such as the natural logarithm of variances of observed versus predicted body weights(lnvarweight),are more robust to lower observation frequencies and are repeatable over three different time periods of the finishing *** Our results will help future studies investigating resilience traits and resilience-related ***,our study provides first results on standardization of

Stable isotope composition of syngenetic and epigenetic ice wedges, radiocarbon age, and pollen spectra of the surrounding deposits were studied during long term investigations at the "Belyi Klyuch" site on the first(6-8 m height) terrace of the chara River(720 m.a.s.l.) in northern Transbaikalia to assess climatic conditions during ice-wedge formation. It was revealed that Holocene ice wedges had been formed from 10 to 7.5 ka 14 c BP. The isotope composition(δ^(18)O, δ~2 H) of relict ice wedges is the lightest and amounts-23‰ and-185‰, correspondingly. The isotopic compositions of ice lenses from sandy loam above ice wedges are-15.7‰, and-133‰; of small ice wedge in peat and sand are-15.3‰ and-117.9‰, *** of the ice wedge isotope composition has yielded that mean winter temperatures during cold stages of Holocene optimum were lower than today, during warm stages they were close to modern ones. During the coldest stages of Holocene optimum the total annual freezing index varied from-5100 to-5700 ℃ degree days, i.e. 300-600 ℃ degree days colder than during extremely severe modern winters. The total annual thawing index varied from 1300 to 1800 ℃ degree days, which was slightly higher than modern ones.

Two-dimensional(2D)semiconducting materials and transition-metal oxides are promising materials for nonvolatile memory and brain-inspired neuromorphic computing ***,it remains chal-lenging to obtain high-quality stacked 2D films with low energy consumptions(or drive currents)be-cause of their high interfacial *** this study,we synthesized 2D Ti_(3)c_(2)T_(x)MXene-derived three-dimensional(3D)TiO_(2)nanoflowers(NFs)as a feasible resistive switching(RS)material with outstanding electronic properties and synaptic learning *** electrical and optical characteristics of the synthesized material were determined through density functional theory *** measure-ments of the Al/Ti_(3)c_(2)T_(x)-TiO_(2)NF/Pt memory device indicated the occurrence of forming-free switching phenomena with extremely low switching voltages(0.68-0.53 V),stable ON/OFF ratio(2.3×103),and retention greater than 105 *** Holt-winters exponential smoothing technique was used for mod-eling and predicting the switching voltages of the RS *** mechanism underlying the reliable RS was confirmed by observing the dense conductive filaments through conductive atomic force ***,the 2D Ti_(3)c_(2)T_(x)MXene-derived 3D TiO_(2)NF-based RS device mimicked the po-tentiation/depression and spike-time-dependent plasticity of a biological ***,a convolutional neural network was implemented based on the observed synaptic weights of Al/Ti_(3)c_(2)T_(x)-TiO_(2)NF/Pt for image-edge detection.
