Preparation of PVA/GO/h-BN Janus Film with High Thermal Conductivity and Excellent Flexibility via a Density Deposition Self-assembly Method

Janus films with asymmetric physical/chemical properties have attracted con siderable attention due to their promising applications in personal thermal management,electronic skin s,sensors,actuators,***,traditional methods for fabricating Janus films conventionally need the assistance of an interface or auxiliary equipment,which are usually complex and ***,flexible poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA)/graphene oxide(GO)/h-BN(recorded as PVA/GO/h-BN)Janus films with thermally,optically,and electrically anisotropic properties are fabricated by a simple density deposition self-assem bly method,which just utilizes the density difference between GO and h-BN during water *** results show that the two sides of the acquired Janus films have obvious asymmetric *** the original state of the PVA/GO/h-BN Janus films,the thermal conductivity of the GO side(10.06 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1))is generally lower than that of the h-BN side(10.48W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)).But after GO is reduced,the thermal conductivity of the rGO side reaches 12.17 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1),surpassing that of the h-BN *** addition,the relative reflectance of the h-BN side of Janus film is also significantly higher than that of the rGO side,and the su rface resistance difference between the two sides is about 4 orders of *** prepared PVA/GO/h-BN Janus films show great application potential in human thermal management,light conversion switches,and electronic *** study provides a simple and versatile strategy for fabricating Janus films with multifunctional(such as thermal,optical,and electrical)anisotropies.

Surface lurking and interfacial ion release strategy for fabricating a superhydrophobic coating with scaling inhibition

The design and manufacture of anti-scaling surface is a prospective way to prevent scaling in oil *** this work,a novel superhydrophobic Cu^(2+)-loaded and DTPMPA-modified anodized copper oxide(S-Cu^(2+)/D-ACO)coating was fabricated by modification of 1H,1H,2H,*** valid storing of scale inhibitors at the coating surface and the interfacial release of Cu^(2+)ions contribute to enhancing the anti-scaling of the S-Cu^(2+)/D-ACO *** water contact angle of the S-Cu^(2+)/D-ACO coating is 163.03°and exhibits superhydrophobicity,which makes it difficult for CaCO_(3)to deposit at the surface of the *** will steadily lurk into the inner space,and Cu^(2+)will be loaded at the interface in the form of the DTPMPA:Cu^(2+)*** the deposition of CaCO_(3),the dynamic release of DTPMPA can be realized by transferring DTPMPA:Cu^(2+)to DTPMPA:Ca^(2+).Interestingly,the released Cu^(2+)hinders the active growth of CaCO_(3).After 48 h of scaling,the mass of CaCO_(3)scale at the S-Cu^(2+)/D-ACO coating surface is only 44.1%that of the anodized copper oxide *** excellent anti-scaling performance of the S-Cu^(2+)/D-ACO coating is determined by the synergistic effect of the DTPMPA lurking and dynamic release,as well as the Cu^(2+)inhibition at the interface of superhydrophobic coating and against CaCO_(3)*** research provides a new exploration for designing and fabricating anti-scaling superhydrophobic surface for oil field development.

In this paper,the superhydrophobic poly(vinylidene fuoride)/fuorinated ethylene propylene/SiO_(2)/CNTs-EDTA(PFSCEDTA)composite coating was successfully fabricated and applied for anti-scaling *** deposition of CaCO_(3) on the surface of the superhydrophobic PFSC-EDTA composite coating reached 0.0444 mg/cm^(2) for 192-h immersion into the supersaturated CaCO_(3) solution,which was only 11.4%that of the superhydrophobic PFSC composite *** the interface between the CaCO_(3) solution and the PFSC-EDTA coating,the Ca^(2+)could be frstly chelated by EDTA that was beneft for improving the anti-scaling performance of the superhydrophobic PFSC-EDTA composite *** another hand,the addition of EDTA to the CNTs played an important role in fabricating the SiO_(2)-centric and CNTs-EDTA-surrounded multilevel micro-nanostructure in the superhydrophobic PFSC-EDTA composite coating,in favor of maintaining the air flm under the water and the stability of the superhydrophobic *** research supplies a new way of improving antiscaling performance of superhydrophobic coating by incorporating the organic chelating agent at the interface and changing the traditional way of scale prevention.

Epoxy resins are cross-linked polymeric materials with typically low thermal ***,the introduction of rigid groups into epoxy resins is the main method to improve their intrinsic thermal *** researchers explored the relationship between the flexible chains of epoxy monomers and the thermal conductivity of the modified epoxy resins(MEP).The effect of flexible chain length on the introduction of rigid groups into the cross-linked structure of epoxy is worth investigating,which is of great significance for the improvement of thermal conductivity of polymers and related *** prepared a small molecule liquid crystal(SMLC)containing a long flexible chain via a simple synthesis reaction,and introduced rigid mesocrystalline units into the epoxy resin via a curing *** high-temperature curing,the introduced mesocrystalline units underwent orientational stacking and were immobilized within the *** and TGA tests showed that the ordering within the modified epoxy resin was increased,which improved the thermal conductivity of the epoxy ***,during the above process,the flexible chains of SMLC provide space for the biphenyl groups to align and therefore affect the thermal conductivity of the ***,the MEP-Ⅵcured with SMLC-Ⅵcontaining six carbon atoms in the flexible chain has the highest thermal conductivity of 0.40W·m^(-1)·K^(-1),which is 125%of the thermal conductivity of SMLC-IV of 0.32 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1),111%of the thermal conductivity of SMLC-Ⅷof 0.36W·m^(-1)·K^(-1),and 182%of the thermal conductivity of pure epoxy of 0.22 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1).The introduction of appropriate length flexible chains for SMLC promotes the stacking of rigid groups within the resin while reducing the occurrence of chain *** study will provide new ideas for the enhancement of thermal conductivity of cross-linked polymeric materials.

Misdiagnosis of an elevated lesion in the esophagus:A case report

BACKGROUND Hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS) is an arterial oxygenation defect induced by intrapulmonary vascular dilatation (IPVD) in the setting of liver disease and/or portal *** syndrome occurs most often in cirrhotic patients(4%-32%) and has been shown to be detrimental to functional status,quality of life,and *** diagnosis of HPS in the setting of liver disease and/or portal hypertension requires the demonstration of IPVD (i.e.,diffuse or localized abnormally dilated pulmonary capillaries and pulmonary and pleural arteriovenous communications) and arterial oxygenation defects,preferably by contrast-enhanced echocardiography and measurement of the alveolar-arterial oxygen gradient,*** To compare brain and whole-body uptake of technetium for diagnosing *** Sixty-nine patients with chronic liver disease and/or portal hypertension were prospectively *** uptake and whole-body uptake were calculated using the geometric mean of technetium counts in the brain and lungs and in the entire body and lungs,*** Thirty-two (46%) patients had IPVD as detected by *** demographics and clinical characteristics of the patients with and without IPVD were not significantly different with the exception of the creatinine level (0.71±0.18 mg/dL vs 0.83±0.23 mg/dL;P=0.041),alveolararterial oxygen gradient (23.2±13.3 mmHg vs 16.4±14.1 mmHg;P=0.043),and arterial partial pressure of oxygen (81.0±12.1 mmHg vs 90.1±12.8 mmHg;P=0.004).Whole-body uptake was significantly higher in patients with IPVD than in patients without IPVD (48.0%±6.1%vs 40.1%±8.1%;P=0.001).The area under the curve of whole-body uptake for detecting IPVD was significantly higher than that of brain uptake (0.75 vs 0.54;P=0.025).The optimal cut-off values of brain uptake and whole-body uptake for detecting IPVD were 5.7%and 42.5%,respectively,based on Youden’s *** sensitivity,specificity,and accuracy of brain uptake

Leydig cell transplantation restores androgen production in surgically castrated prepubertal rats

Prepubertal testicular dysfunction and the subsequent development of hypogonadism affects an estimated one in 200 children worldwide. As the testosterone levels are dynamic during development and puberty, traditional hormone treatment regimens are often inadequate, thereby leaving associated physiological conditions unresolved. Therefore, we have investigated the potential therapeutic effect of mature Leydig cell transplantation for the treatment of prepubertal primary hypogonadism through the use of a surgically induced hypogonadistic rat model system. In the experiment, Leydig cells were surgically isolated from mature Sprague-Dawley rats and transplanted into prepubertal recipients. Serum testosterone levels and microscopic analysis of the stained testicular interstitium were compared with sham-treated controls, as well as with castrated and intact rats during sexual development. At 4 weeks post-implantation, serum testosterone was detectable in Leydig cell recipients, but not in surgical controls, and progressively increased as a function of time until reaching levels comparable with sexually mature males at 12 weeks post-implantation. Histological analysis revealed a high rate of Leydig cell survival as well as steroidogenic secretory activity. Therefore, we conclude that mature Leydig cell transplantation in prepubertal hypogonadism recipients has therapeutic potential in rats and merits further investigation for clinical application.

Lily is a well-known ornamental plant with a diversity of fragrant *** information on lily floral scent compounds has been obtained for only a few accessions,and little is known about Lilium aroma types,the terpene synthase genes that may play roles in the production of key volatiles,or the range of monoterpenes that these genes *** this study,41 cultivars were analyzed for volatile emissions,and a total of 46 individual volatile compounds were identified,16 for the first time in *** accessions were classified into six groups according to the composition of major scent components:faint-scented,cool,fruity,musky,fruity-honey,and *** were one of the main groups of volatiles identified,and attention was focused on terpene synthase(TPS)genes,which encode enzymes that catalyze the last steps in monoterpene ***-two candidate monoterpene synthase cDNAs were obtained from 66 lily cultivars,and 64 SNPs were *** InDels were also shown to result from variable splicing,and sequence analysis suggested that different transcripts arose from the same *** identified nucleotide substitution sites were highly correlated with the amounts of myrcene emitted,and InDel site 230 was highly correlated with the emission of all major monoterpenoid components,especially(E)-β-*** expression of five cDNAs cloned from faint-scented and strong-scented lilies showed that their corresponding enzymes could convert geranyl diphosphate to(E)-β-ocimene,α-pinene,and *** findings from this study provide a major resource for the assessment of lily scent volatiles and will be helpful in breeding of improved volatile components.
