Dear Editor,Electric vehicle(EV)sales have significantly grown over the years to fulfill growing demands for economic travel and greenhouse gas mitigation.1 however,the surge in the number of EVs has led to charging anxiety as users struggle to find an available charging station before running out of electricity,resulting in longer reserve and waiting times.2 Moreover,severe mobility restrictions caused by infectious diseases,such as coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),have greatly affected people’s travel behavior3,4 and hindered their willingness to use EVs,given that charging in public spaces consumes time and increases the risk of contracting the virus.5 This implies that in the postpandemic era,in which individuals coexist with the virus,the interplay between the two important trends,namely vehicle electrification and mobility restrictions,can extensively affect people’s daily commuting by using EVs.

Detailed sedimentological analysis of the Pokaran Boulder Bed,representing the most basal unit of the Neoproterozoic-Lower Cambrian Marwar Supergroup,clearly indicates its glacial *** glacial sediments are interpreted as an ice-contact submarine fan *** on the detrital and inherited zircon population of the Marwar Supergroup sediments and interlayered pyroclastic deposits,a Marinoan cryochron of the Cryogenian Period is envisaged for the Pokaran Boulder *** well-preserved Ediacaran elements in the post-glacial sedimentary succession also support a Cryogenian to Early Cambrian age of the Marwar *** glacial deposition at the base of the Marwar Supergroup strengthens the regional correlation between the studied sediments with the Lesser himalayan Blaini-Krol-Tal sediments and the haqf Supergroup of *** available zircon ages and paleomagnetic data of the Malani Igneous suite,along with the Marinoan glacial deposits,detrital zircon ages,and Ediacaran fossil elements of the Marwar Supergroup add significant information to the Neoproterozoic Earth history.

The commercial viability of thermoelectric(TE)devices relies heavily on two factors:cost reduction and efficiency *** this study,we first produce p-type Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(16-x)(x=0,3,4)using a low-temperature bottom-up approach and demonstrate Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)to show the best TE performance among the three tested ***,the TE energy conversion efficiency of Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)is further enhanced by optimizing its electronic band structure through the incorporation of small amounts of *** an optimal Te content of 5 mol%,more than a twofold increase in the TE figure of merit(zT)is *** gain insight into the mechanism of improvement on the transport properties of the mate-rial,we compare the interphase transport mechanism by incorporating nanodomains of different metals(Ag and Cu)into the Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)*** improved electrical conductivity obtained with Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)-Te nanocomposites is attributed to a charge flooding of the Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)*** contrast,excessive down-ward band-bending at the interphases of Ag/Cu metal-semiconductor drastically reduces the electrical ***,a weighted mobility(μw)analysis shows a dominant thermal activation of carri-ers in Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)-Te *** this material,a strong decrease in lattice thermal conductivity is also found,which is associated with a phonon-carrier scattering *** work shows the impor-tance of proper band-engineering in TE nanocomposites to decouple electrical and thermal transport to enhance TE performance,and the efficacy ofμw for electrical and thermal transport analysis.

Racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities present daunting hurdles that prevent equitable health outcomes for patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) on hemodialysis. Additional resources, such as the Novel Intervention in Children’s health (NICh) at Lucille Packard Children’s hospital Stanford, provide individualized support to best assist families by assessing barriers to care with the goal of improving health outcomes. In this retrospective cohort study, we reviewed patients with ESKD on hemodialysis involved in NICh to explore if NICh serves as a liaison between the patients and multidisciplinary medical team and to explore if NICh helps patients better manage the challenges of end-stage kidney disease. Through the electronic medical record system, EPIC, we reviewed the patients’ surveys to identify barriers to care, which included school and life engagement difficulty, lack of mental health resources, food and transportation insecurity, and cultural/language barriers. We also tracked the number of hospitalizations and ED visits before and during the patients’ enrollment in NICh. We discovered that through NICh, the aforementioned barriers to care were eliminated, the number of hospitalizations and emergency department visits was reduced, and all patients transitioned from inactive to active on the transplant list. NICh successfully improved the health outcomes of these patients and empowered patients to be more engaged in their care.

The NATO agreement STANAG 4569 defines the protection levels for the occupants of logistic and light armored *** Allied Engineering Publication,AEP-55,Volume 2 document outlines the test conditions for underbelly improvised explosive device(IEDs),which must be buried in water-saturated sandy *** use of sandy gravel has some drawbacks,for instance reproducibility,time consumption,and *** paper focuses on the investigation of four alternatives to sandy gravel,which could produce similar specific and cumulative impulses:a concrete pot filled with water,a concrete pot filled with quartz sand,a steel pot without filling and a concrete pot filled with glass spheres(diameter 200μm—300μm)and different water *** impulses are measured with a ring technology developed at the Fraunhofer EMI.A numerical soil model based on the work of Marrs,2014 and Fi serov a,2006 and considering the soil moisture was used to simulate the experiments with glass spheres at different water contents,showing much better agreement with the experiments than the classical Laine&Sandvik model,even for high saturation *** results can be used to create new test conditions at original scale that are more cost-effective,more reproducible and simpler to manage in comparison to the current tests carried out with STANAG sandy gravel.

Improving the utility of locally differentially private protocols for longitudinal and multidimensional frequency estimates

This paper investigates the problem of collecting multidimensional data throughout time(i.e.,longitudinal studies)for the fundamental task of frequency estimation under Local Differential Privacy(LDP)*** to frequency estimation of a single attribute,the multidimensional aspect demands particular attention to the privacy ***,when collecting user statistics longitudinally,privacy progressively ***,the“multiple”settings in combination(i.e.,many attributes and several collections throughout time)impose several challenges,for which this paper proposes the first solution for frequency estimates under *** tackle these issues,we extend the analysis of three state-of-the-art LDP protocols(Generalized Randomized Response–GRR,Optimized Unary Encoding–OUE,and Symmetric Unary Encoding–SUE)for both longitudinal and multidimensional data *** the known literature uses OUE and SUE for two rounds of sanitization(***),i.e.,L-OUE and L-SUE,respectively,we analytically and experimentally show that starting with OUE and then with SUE provides higher data utility(i.e.,L-OSUE).Also,for attributes with small domain sizes,we propose Longitudinal GRR(L-GRR),which provides higher utility than the other protocols based on unary ***,we also propose a new solution named Adaptive LDP for LOngitudinal and Multidimensional FREquency Estimates(ALLOMFREE),which randomly samples a single attribute to be sent with the whole privacy budget and adaptively selects the optimal protocol,i.e.,either L-GRR or *** shown in the results,ALLOMFREE consistently and considerably outperforms the state-of-the-art L-SUE and L-OUE protocols in the quality of the frequency estimates.

Algal polysaccharides are an essential active substance in food nutrition and even pharmaceutical activity research due to wide sources， low toxicity， and no side effects. In our previous research， we identified the chemical structure and studied the immunomodulatory mechanism of the polysaccharide CRVP from edible green algae Caulerpa racemosa var. peltata. In this study， we further investigated the cytotoxicity and potential mechanism of CRVP against hepa1-6 cells. Metabolomics analysis showed that CRVP might affect glutathione metabolism-related pathways. CRVP significantly up-regulated oxidized glutathione （GSSG） and down-regulated reduced glutathione （GSh） in hepa1-6 cells， increasing the ratio of GSSG to GSh and intracellular reactive oxygen species. The potential anti-liver cancer mechanism is that CRVP may affect redox homeostasis and lead to apoptosis by inhibiting glutathione reductase or System Xc-. Based on the known immunomodulatory mechanism of CRVP， this study can provide a material basis for adjuvant therapeutic nutritional agents with immune-enhancing anti-cancer activity.
