Combined stochastic and discrete simulation to optimise the economics of mixed single-horizontal and multilateral well offshore oil developments

Multilateral wells promise cost savings to oil and fields as they have the potential to reduce overall drilling distances and minimize the number of slots required for the surface facility managing the ***,drilling a multilateral well does not always increase the flow rate when compared to two single-horizontal wells due to competition in production inside the ***,a holistic approach is proposed to find the optimum balance between single and multilateral wells in an offshore oil *** so doing,the integrated approach finds the highest Net Present Value(NPV)configuration of the field considering drilling,subsurface,production and financial *** model employs stochastic perturbation and Markov Chain Monte-Carlo methods to solve the global maximising-NPV *** addition,a combination of Mixed-Integer Linear Programming(MILP),an improved Dijkstra algorithm and a Levenberg-Marquardt optimiser is proposed to solve the rate allocation *** the outcome from this analysis,the model suggests the optimum development including number of multilateral and single horizontal wells that would result in the highest *** results demonstrate the potential for modelling to find the optimal use of petroleum facilities and to assist with planning and decision making.

提出了一种寻找海上油田单水平井和多分支井开发之间的最优平衡的综合方法,对模型进行了详细阐述,并进行了案例研究。该方法可以在考虑钻井、储集层物性、地面设施和财务分析的情况下得到净现值最高的油田配置。模型采用随机扰动和马尔可夫链蒙特卡罗法来求解全局最大净现值问题,采用混合整数线性规划、改进的Dijkstra算法和Levenberg-Marquardt优化方法来求解流量分配问题。模型可给出最优开发方案建议,包括可以获得最高净现值的井口平台数量、多分支井和单水平井数量及其连接方式。研究表明,模型可得到石油设施的最优使用效果,并协助规划和决策。图12表4参41。

A genetic algorithm based lookup table approach for optimal stepping sequence of open-loop stepper motor systems

Stepper motor driven systems are widely used in industrial applications. They are mainly used for their low cost open-loop high performance. However, as dynamic systems need to be increasingly faster and their motion more precise, it is important to have an open-loop system which is accurate and reliable. In this paper, we present a novel technique in which a genetic algorithm （GA） based lookup table approach is used to find the optimal stepping sequence of an open-loop stepper motor system. The optimal sequence objective is to minimize residual vibration and to accurately follow trajectory. A genetic algorithm is used to find the best stepping sequence which minimizes the error and improves the system performance. Numerical simulation has showed the effectiveness of our approach to improve the system performance for both position and velocity. The optimized system reduced the residual vibration and was able to follow the trajectory with minimal error.

Pattern matching is a very important topic in computer science. It has been used in various applications such as information retrieval, virus scanning, DNA sequence analysis, data mining, machine learning, network security and pattern recognition. This paper has presented a new pattern matching algorithm—Enhanced ERS-A, which is an improvement over ERS-S algorithm. In ERS-A, two sliding windows are used to scan the text from the left and the right simultaneously. The proposed algorithm also scans the text from the left and the right simultaneously as well as making comparisons with the pattern from both sides simultaneously. The comparisons done between the text and the pattern are done from both sides in parallel. The shift technique used in the Enhanced ERS-A is the four consecutive characters in the text immediately following the pattern window. The experimental results show that the Enhanced ERS-A has enhanced the process of pattern matching by reducing the number of comparisons performed.

This paper presents an efficient pattern matching algorithm (FSW). FSW improves the searching process for a pattern in a text. It scans the text with the help of four sliding windows. The windows are equal to the length of the pattern, allowing multiple alignments in the searching process. The text is divided into two parts;each part is scanned from both sides simultaneously using two sliding windows. The four windows slide in parallel in both parts of the text. The comparisons done between the text and the pattern are done from both of the pattern sides in parallel. The conducted experiments show that FSW achieves the best overall results in the number of attempts and the number of character comparisons compared to the pattern matching algorithms: Two Sliding Windows (TSW), Enhanced Two Sliding Windows algorithm (ETSW) and Berry-Ravindran algorithm (BR).
