Soil amendments containing carbonized materials increase the soil carbon reservoir,influence plant productivity,and,ultimately,help to clean the *** is data on the effect of such additions on soil physicochemical properties or plant growth,but few studies have focused on how these carbonized materials are distributed by termite species in the soil *** is the first comprehensive study of the transportation of biochar(BC)by termite species under tropical environmental conditions in *** present study was carried out to test the hypothesis that if termite species I)were involved in the distribution of biochar particles II)if yes,then how far these particles were transported during the study period(10 days)and III)check their preference between the enriched BC(EBC)and non-enriched *** was enriched with the cattle slurry after its pyrolysis in the *** results showed that EBC particles were significantly more widely distributed than non-enriched BC particles,but both types of BC were transported more than 4 cm(ring 4)within 10 days(at the end of the experiment).The current study also revealed that EBC was easily attached to the setae,cuticle,and legs of termites,implying that it could potentially be transported over a greater ***,transportation of EBC over larger distances indicated a potential preference of termite species between the EBC and BC *** the study,however,the preference among the termite species was also *** the prevailing study conditions,the Coptotermes heimi and Heteroterme indicola species transported the EBC further than Microtermes obesi and Odontotermes *** findings revealed that transportation preferences were observed among the four termite *** conclusion,the current study found that termites were involved in the distribution of BC particles,with a preference for EBC and that these have the potential to transport BC particles more than 4 cm within 10 da

Phytochemical analysis and antioxidant profile of methanolic extract of seed, pulp and peel of Baccaurea ramiflora Lour.

Objective: To analyze the phytochemical constituents responsible for the plausible antioxidant effect of methanolic extract of the seed, pulp and peel of Baccaurea ramiflora Lour. Methods: Fresh seed, pulp, and peel of Baccaurea ramiflora fruits were extracted with methanol(MEBRse, MEBRpu, MEBRpe) and evaluated by phytochemical analysis for their content of innumerable metabolites(primary and secondary) viz. carbohydrates, alkaloids, glycosides, tannins, phenols, terpenoids, flavonoids, proteins, and fixed oils. The antioxidant efficacy was assessed through different assay methods viz. 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) free radical scavenging activity, total antioxidant capacity(TAC) and reducing power capacity(RPC). Estimation of total phenolic content(TPC), and total flavonoid content(TFC) was also done to confirm the presence of these phytochemicals. Results: It was revealed from the phytochemical analysis of MEBRse that alkaloids, glycosides, carbohydrates, phenols, and flavonoids were present, while that of MEBRpu showed the existence of carbohydrates, proteins, alkaloids, glycosides, phenols, saponins, flavonoids, and fixed oils. Presence of carbohydrates, alkaloids, phenols, tannins, flavonoids, and terpenoids were found in the MEBRpe. A significant antioxidant activity was revealed by the MEBRpu [EC_(50):(27.612 ± 1.375) μg/mL], compared to MEBRpe, and MEBRse in DPPH assay. The ranking order for RPC was MEBRpu > MEBRpe > MEBRse respectively. The EC_(50) value of TAC of the MEBRpu, MEBRpe, and MEBRse were(25.107 ±0.744) μg/mL,(241.127 ± 7.463) μg/mL and(372.364 ± 11.030) μg/mL, respectively. Quantity of TPC and TFC were the highest in the MEBRpu(124.360 ± 2.078 mg GAE/g and 107.527 ±1.900 mg QRE/g extract) rather than MEBRpe and MEBRse extracts. Conclusions: This study suggests that MEBRpu has a significantly higher antioxidant property than MEBRpe and MEBRse. Alterations in Antioxidant Vitamins in Bronchial Asthma and Its Correlation with Spirometry

Bronchial asthma may result in oxidant/antioxidant imbalance. Antioxidant vitamins E and C concentrations were estimated in plasma of asthmatics that were also simultaneously subjected to spirometry and matched with healthy controls showing significant changes in both the vitamin concentrations. Vitamin C showed strong correlation whereas vitamin E was not correlated with spirometry.

Occurrence Models of Movable Fluid in Lacustrine Sandstone Reservoir of Chang 7 Member in the Heshui Block， Ordos Basin， China

The Chang 7 sandstone is characterized by complex micro-pore structures， strong heterogeneity， and differential fluid distribution. These characteristics result in low oil recovery. In this paper， various techniques， including high-pressure mercury intrusion， nuclear magnetic resonance， scanning electron microscope， thin section， and X-ray diffraction， are employed to quantitatively evaluate the occurrence characteristics and influencing factors of movable fluids in Chang 7 sandstone reservoirs from the Heshui Block with different fractal structures. Results show that the dominant sandstone type is feldspar lithic fragment sandstone. Chang 7 reservoir has been divided into three types (types I， Ⅱ， and Ⅲ) based on capillary pressure curves and pore structure parameters. These reservoirs are characterized by various fractal structures and different movable fluids distribution. Multiple possible factors affecting the movable fluid distribution are analyzed， including physical properties， pore structure， pore size distribution， mineral content， and heterogeneity. Movable fluid saturation is positively correlated with physical properties， weighted average pore-throat radius， median pore-throat radius， final residual mercury saturation， and maximum mercury withdrawal saturation. In contrast， it is negatively correlated with displacement pressure and has no obvious correlation with the sorting coefficient. Micron- and submicron-scale pores are beneficial to the movable fluid occurrence， while nano-scale pores are vice versa. The influence of mineral content on movable fluid occurrence varies with mineral types. Quartz is conducive to the movable fluid occurrence in submicron-scale pores， while carbonate cementation inhibits the movable fluid occurrence in submicron-scale pores. The inhibition of clay on the movable fluid occurrence is mainly reflected in submicron- and nano-scale pores and varies with clay mineral types. The influence of heterogeneity on the movable fluid

Quantum theory with conjecture of fractional charge quantization, eigenfunctions for fractional charge quantization, fractional Fourier transform, Hermite function for fractional charge quantization, and eigenfunction for a twisted and twigged electron quanta is developed and applied to resistivity, dielectricity, giant magneto resistance, Hall effect and conductance. Our theoretical relationship for quantum measurements is in good conformity and in agreement with most of the experimental results. These relationships will pave a new approach to quantum physics for deciphering measurements on single quantum particles without destroying them. Our results are in agreement with 2012 Physics Nobel Prize winning Scientists, Serge Haroche and David J. Wineland.

Performance Analysis of Multi-Hop Wireless Link under Maximum Flow Algorithm

To enhance link capacity of a wireless link one or more repeater is used between the sender and the receiver. Recent literature deals with multiple parallel links to enhance throughput instead of conventional single path. In case of a multidirectional and multi-hop wireless network, the selection of link of maximum signal to noise ratio (SNR) does not guarantee the maximum throughput. In this paper, we use augmenting path of Ford-Fulkerson algorithm in detection of maximum flow from sender to receiver. To reduce the process time at the sending node, minimum-cut theorem is used to determine maximum flow like power flow of previous work. Using the maximum flow algorithm, we obtain the capacity of multi-hop wireless link higher than the conventional theorem. The concept of the paper is applicable in MANET (Mobile Ad-hoc Network), WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) and CRN (Cognitive Radio Network).

Relationship of Uric Acid with Superoxide Dismutase (Sod) in Induced Hyperuricemic Rat Model

Increase uric acid levels have been found in oxidative stress. Urate radicals do not react with oxygen to form another peroxy radical, thus increasing the efficacy of uric acid as an antioxidant. Therefore, this study is designed to measure the level of uric acids and find out the relationship of uric acid with superoxide dismutase in induced hyperuricemic model. Forty male albino rats with an average weight of 180 ± 2 g were selected. The rats were grouped. The animals were fed on standard diet and given tap water ad libitum until treatment. Albino rats were divided into four groups. Group A(10)-control given only standard diet, group B(10) fed on 60% fructose with standard diet , group C(10) fed on fructose, standard diet and intraperitonially oxonic acid 250 mg/kg and group D (10) only on injection intraperotonially oxonic acid 250 mg/kg. At the end of study 10 mL of blood was drawn from heart of rats. Then blood was estimated for superoxide dismutase and uric acids done by kit methods randox-manual/Rx monza UA230/UA 233. Results: In Group C superoxide dismutase was found to be 32 % (244 mg/dL ± 2.23) more than control. In the same group the uric acid concentration was highly significantly correlated with control. Conclusion: The uric acid concentration increases when we take fructose up to 60% in our diet. It also increases superoxide dismutase concentration. More than this value may have inverse effect on the uric acid level and its role as an antioxidant may become inversed.
