The field of terahertz devices is important in terahertz ***,most of the current devices have limited functionality and poor *** improve device performance and achieve multifunctionality,we designed a terahertz device based on a combination of VO_(2)and *** device can be tuned using the phase-transition characteristics of VO_(2),which is included in the triple-layer structure of the device,along with SiO_(2)and *** terahertz device exhibits various advantageous features,including broadband coverage,high absorption capability,dynamic tunability,simple structural design,polarization insensitivity,and incidentangle *** simulation results showed that by controlling the temperature,the terahertz device achieved a thermal modulation range of spectral absorption from 0 to *** 313 K,the device exhibited complete reflection of terahertz *** the temperature increased,the absorption rate also *** the temperature reached 353 K,the device absorption rate exceeded 97.7%in the range of 5-8.55 *** study used the effective medium theory to elucidate the correlation between conductivity and temperature during the phase transition of VO_(2).Simultaneously,the variation in device performance was further elucidated by analyzing and depicting the intensity distribution of the electric field on the device surface at different ***,the impact of various structural parameters on device performance was examined,offering valuable insights and suggestions for selecting suitable parameter values in real-world *** characteristics render the device highly promising for applications in stealth technology,energy harvesting,modulation,and other related fields,thus showcasing its significant potential.

Assessing Wind Erosion: A Review of Recent Measurement Techniques

Wind erosion represents a formidable environmental challenge and has serious negative impacts on soil health and agricultural productivity, particularly in arid and semi-arid areas. The complex dynamics of wind erosion make its large-scale monitoring and quantification a daunting task. To facilitate the monitoring and quantification of wind erosion, various scientific approaches and methods have been employed. These include sophisticated wind erosion equations and models, wind tunnel experiments, and the application of radionuclides. Additionally, researchers have assessed soil physicochemical properties, used anemometers for wind speed measurement, and deployed dust collectors for particle capture. Remote sensing technologies, wind erosion monitoring stations, and evaluations of wind barriers have also been utilized. Recently, the adoption of machine learning methods has gained popularity. Despite their value, each of these techniques has limitations in capturing the full spectrum of the wind erosion process. This paper examines these limitations and assesses the effectiveness of each method in the context of wind erosion studies. It also outlines directions for future research and suggests pathways that could enhance the understanding and management of wind erosion.

Tensile behavior of ultrafine-grained low carbon medium manganese steel by intercritical annealing treatment

The intercritical annealing treatment at 650 and 700 ℃ results in two ultrafine-grained (UFG) dual-phase ferrite-austenitesteels. The two steels exhibit different and special discontinuous yielding and pronounced Lüders-like strain phenomenawith large yielding strain which are related to their retained γ-austenite (RA) volume fractions and RA stabilities. The steelannealed at 650 ℃ shows an absent or very small strain hardening, while the steel annealed at 700 ℃ shows an obviousstrain hardening upward curvature with increasing strain. The results show that before and during straining, the steel annealedat 650 ℃ exhibits a mixture of equiaxed and elongated UFG α-ferrite and austenite phases;however, the steel annealed at700 ℃ exhibits only elongated UFG α and γ phases. It was found that most of the γ-austenite to α′-martensite transformationoccurred at the initial deformation stage and very small or almost no transformation occurred afterward. This demonstratesthat the strain-induced martensite (SIM) transformation (γ-α′) or transformation-induced plasticity (TRIP) effect dominatesonly at the initial deformation stage. RA remained stable, and no TRIP effect was observed at the final deformation stage. Theload-unload-reload test was performed to evaluate the back stress (σb) hardening effect. It is believed that the pronouncedstrain hardening behavior at the later deformation stage is mainly associated with σb enhancement induced by the strainpartitioning between the soft and hard phases due to SIM transformation during tensile deformation.

Expression profiling of transgenes(Cry1Ac and Cry2A) in cotton genotypes under different genetic backgrounds

Transgenic cotton carrying the CrylAc gene has revolutionized insect pest control since its adoption,although the development of resistance in insect pests has reduced its *** 10 years of cultivating Bacillus thuringiensis(Bt)cotton with a single Cry1 Ac gene,growers are on the verge of adopting Bt cotton that carries the double gene(Cry1 Ac+Cry2 A)due to its better effectiveness against insect ***,the current study was designed to evaluate the role of each gene in the effectiveness of Bt cotton carrying the double *** expression levels of the Cry1 Ac and Cry2 A genes were evaluated in the leaves of 10 genotypes(2 parents and 8 Fhybrids)at 30 days after sowing(DAS),while samples of leaves,bolls and flowers were taken from the upper and lower canopies at 70 and 110 *** Fhybrids were developed through reciprocal crosses between two Bt(CKC-1,CKC-2)and two non-Bt(MNH-786,FH-942)*** differential expression of transgenes was evaluated through Enzyme Linked Immuno-Sorbent Assay(ELISA).The results showed that the MNH786 xCKC-1 hybrid had the highest concentrations of Cry1 Ac gene at30 DAS(3.08μg g^(-1))and 110 DAS(1.01μg g^(-1))in *** contrast,the CKC-2 xMNH-786 hybrid showed the lowest concentrations of Cry1 Ac gene at 30 DAS(2.30μg g^(-1))and 110 DAS(0.86μg g^(-1)).The Fhybrid FH-942×CKC-2 showed the highest concentrations of Cry2 A gene at 30 DAS(8.39μg g^(-1))and 110 DAS(7.74μg g^(-1))in leaves,while the CKC-1 xMNH-786 hybrid expressed the lowest concentrations of Cry2 A gene at 30 DAS(7.10μg g^(-1))and 110 DAS(8.31μg g^(-1)).A comparison between the two stages of plant growth showed that leaves had the highest concentrations at 30 DAS,whereas the lowest concentrations were observed at 110 DAS for both genes in *** the expression pattern was compared between various plant parts in genotype CKC-2,it was found that leaves had higher concentrations of Cry1 Ac(3.12μg g^(-1))and Cry2 A(8.31μg g^(-1))at 70 DAS,followed by bolls

Effect of Annealing on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Ultrafine-Grained Low-Carbon Medium-Manganese Steel Produced by Heavy Warm Rolling

An ultrafine-grained(UFG) low-carbon medium-manganese steel was fabricated by the heavily warm rolling(HWR) and subsequent quenching, and the effects of annealing temperatures on microstructure and mechanical properties of the UFG HWRed steel were investigated. The results show that the HWRed steel exhibits simultaneous improvements in strength,uniform elongation and work hardening, which is mainly attributed to the refinement of martensitic microstructures. The HWRed steels comprise only a-phase when annealing at lower temperatures below to 550 °C and at higher temperatures above to 700 °C. Whereas, UFG c-austenite is formed by reverse transformation when the HWRed steel was annealed at intermediate temperatures from 550 to 700 °C and the volume fraction increases with increasing annealing temperatures,consequently resulting in a dramatic increase in ductility of the annealed HWRed steels. It was found that the transformed UFG austenite and ferrite remained ～500 nm and ～800 nm in size when the HWRed steel was annealed at 650 and700 °C for 1 h, respectively, showing an excellent thermal stability. Moreover, the HWRed steel annealed at 650 °C exhibits high strength-ductility combinations with a yield strength of 906 MPa, ultimate tensile strength(UTS) of1011 MPa, total elongation(TEL) of 51% and product of strength and elongation(PSE: UTS 9 TEL) of 52 GPa%. It is believed that these excellent comprehensive mechanical properties are closely associated with the UFG austenite formation by reverse transformation and principally attributed to the transformation-induced plasticity(TRIP) effect.

Nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide（NrGO）sheets decorated with Co（OH）;nanoflakes were prepared by a single-step hydrothermal *** morphological and structural characterizations of as synthesized Nr GO@Co（OH）;nanoflakes were performed by field emission scanning electron microscopy（FESEM）,EDX-mapping and X-ray diffraction（XRD）.Nr GO@Co（OH）;nanoflakes modified glassy carbon electrode（GCE）was used for electrochemical sensing of dopamine in neutral *** nanocomposite modified electrode showed enhanced electrochemical sensing ability for the detection of dopamine and the limit of detection（Lo D）was found to be 0.201μM with a sensitivity value of 0.0286±0.002 m A m M;.Interference studies revealed that Nr GO@Co（OH）;─GCE endow excellent selectivity for DA detection even in the presence of higher concentration of common co-existing physiological interfering ***,proposed sensor demonstrated excellent performance in urine samples with promising reproducibility and stability.

Randomly amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD)is a tremendously convenient approach used to discriminate between Brassica species owing to its accuracy and *** primers generate adequate genetic information that can be used in the primer-marker *** this work,twenty RAPD-PCR based markers were executed to generate polymorphic data,like polymorphic information content(PIC),mean resolving power(MRP),resolving power(RP),effective multiplex ratio(EMR),and marker index(MI)for the first time and genetic distance among and between six Brassica species were *** results indicated that 20 primers produced a total of 231 scored band and generated 87%polymorphic *** PIC,MRP,RP,MI,and EMR values were 0.088,0.65,6.7,0.78,and 8.9,*** showed an overall negative correlation with MRP,RP,MI,and EMR,whereas MRP,RP,and EMR,were positively correlated with each *** identities ranged from 41.99%(between Brassica napus and Brassica oleracea)to 68.83%(between Brassica campestris and Brassica oleracea).Dendrogram results showed no clustering between species except between Brassica campestris and Brassica ***,these results will be helpful to acquire useful information about the markers and their use to determine the genomic structures of Brassica ***,based on genetic distance and polymorphic information,new hybrids can be developed for effective oilseed production.

A Comparative Study of Electronic Properties of Bulk MoS2 and Its Monolayer Using DFT Technique: Application of Mechanical Strain on MoS2 Monolayer

Electronic structure calculation of bulk and monolayer MoS2 has been performed using plane wave pseudopotential method based on density functional theory. The indirect band gap in the bulk MoS2 was found to be 0.9 eV, whereas in the monolayer-MoS2 the band gap of 1.57 eV was found to be direct one. The calculated physical parameters of monolayer MoS2 are found to be very close to the bulk MoS2 and compare well with available experimental and other theoretical results. The calculated density of states (DOS) may help explain this change in the nature of band gap in bulk and in monolayer MoS2. A further variation in band gap has been observed in MoS2 monolayer on applying biaxial strain.
