Incorporating nitrogen(N)atom in graphene is considered a key technique for tuning its electrical ***,this is still a great challenge,and it is unclear how to build N-graphene with desired nitrogen *** is a lack of experimental evidence to explain the influence and mechanism of structural defects for nitrogen incorporation into graphene compared to the derived DFT ***,this gap is bridged through a systematic study of different nitrogen-containing gaseous plasma post-treatments on graphene nanowalls(CNWs)to produce N-CNWs with incorporated and substituted *** structural and morphological analyses describe a remarkable difference in the plasma–surface interaction,nitrogen concentration and nitrogen incorporation mechanism in CNWs by using different nitrogen-containing *** conductivity measurements revealed that the conductivity of the N-graphene is strongly influenced by the position and concentration of C–N bonding *** findings open up a new pathway for the synthesis of N-graphene using plasma post-treatment to control the concentration and configuration of incorporated nitrogen for application-specific properties.

Spectral fluorescence signature, Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry for identification of chemical and bioactive compounds were applied to study the plant extracts of Withania somnifera, Centella asiatica and Bacopa monnieri which are related to the possible treatment of mental diseases as Alzheimer, Parkinson and Depression. These plants are known for different positive phytotherapeutic effects on the human brain without negative post-, adverse or after effects to the treated individuals, and have been recommended in several medical studies. Therefore, we selected these plants for further analysis, based on the inhibition results of in vitro Amyloid Beta fibrillation tests made by previous measurements. With this study a first screening of the complex plant extract mixtures was performed, to get an initial overview about known and unknown ingredients. In all three plants, similar main compounds were identified, however in different quality and quantity. These may provide substantial information on which compound combinations might be mainly responsible for the positive effects and should be further investigated being responsible for reducing the fibrillation process of Amyloid Beta.

A Single-Finger Operated Noncontact User Interface

A noncontact user interface using image processing for people with neuromuscular diseases is presented in this paper. The user interface is composed of a Web camera and a PC, and allows users to manipulate the PC using small movements of single finger. By using image processing techniques with the Web camera, the finger is appropriately detected from the images captured by it. Control boxes for pointing and text input functions are also made. To verify performances of the interface, some tasks are experimentally performed by three able-bodied subjects and a person suffering from spinal muscular atrophy. Kawasaki disease(KD)is an acute febrile ilness characterized by systemic vasculitis affecting the small-and mediumsized arteries in children [1,2].One of the most critical complications of KD is the development of coronary artery lesions(CALs)approximately after 12 days of ilness,which may lead to myocardial infarction[3].High-dose intravenous immunoglobulin(IVIG)and oral administration of aspirin have been established as the first-line therapy for KD[4,5].

Presynaptic mechanisms at prefrontal synapses involved in persistent pain

The cumulative evidence from animal and human studies revealed that the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) plays essential roles in pain sensation and persistent pain. It has been evident in the ACC synapses of animals that changes in both the presynaptic and postsynaptic function are caused by peripheral nerve injury. Thus far, postsynaptic changes in the ACC following nerve injury have been primarily studied to understand the mechanisms of chronic pain. In recent years, studies focusing on the presynaptic mechanisms in chronic pain have been progressively increased. In this review, I will discuss molecular mechanisms associated with chronic pain and presynaptic form of long-term potentiation. I will also discuss evidence for presynaptic changes in the ACC caused by disease-related pain.

Small invasive ductal carcinoma of the pancreas distinct from branch duct intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm

Endoscopic ultrasonography （EUS） is a highly sensitive diagnostic method for the detection of small pancreatic carcinomas. Recently, there have been some reports describing the utility of contrast-enhanced harmonic EUS （CEH-EUS） which uses sonographic contrast agent for differentiation of a pancreatic mass. This report describes a case of small adenocarcinoma of the pancreas distinct from branch duct intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm （IPMN） in which investigation by EUS took place every 6 mo and diagnosis was made accurately by additional CEH-EUS during the follow-up of the branch duct IPMN. A 68-year-old female was admitted to our hospital because of a branch duct IPMN in the pancreatic body. She had been followed-up by EUS every 6 too. However, after 2 years EUS demonstrated a low echoic area distinct from the branch duct IPMN which was vaguely discernible by EUS, and accurate sizing and differential diagnosis were considered difficult on the EUS imaging. CHEUS with Sonazoid revealed a hypovascular tumor and we suspected small pancreatic carcinoma. The histopathological diagnosis was adenocarcinoma （10 mm） in the pancreatic tail, distinct from the branch duct IPMN of the pancreatic body. EUS and CEH-EUS may play an important role in the correct diagnosis of small pancreatic tumors, including synchronous and metachronous occurrence of IPMN and ductal adenocarcinoma of the pancreas.

A DFT Method for Single-Control Testability of RTL Data Paths for BIST

This paper presents a new BIST method for RTL data paths based on single-control testability, a new concept of testability. The BIST method adopts hierarchical test. Test pattern generators are placed only on primary inputs and test patterns are propagated to and fed into each module. Test responses are similarly propagated to response analyzers placed only on primary outputs. For the propagation of test patterns and test responses paths existing in the data path are utilized. The DFT method for the single-control testability is also proposed. The advantages of the proposed method are high fault coverage (for single Stuck-at faults), low hardware overhead and capability of at-speed test. Moreover, test patterns generated by test pattern generators can be fed into each module at consecutive system clocks, and thus, the BIST can also detect some faults of other fault models (e.g., transition faults and delay faults) that require consecutive application of test patterns at speed of system clock.
