Objective:Studies conducted in large metropolitan inner-city communities with high violent crime rates have demonstrated an association between exposure to violence and mental health problems;therefore the purpose of this study was to determine if similar trends exist in smaller inner-city communities with substantially lower violent crime ***:One hundred twenty-six children and young adults living in inner-city Omaha,Nebraska,were screened for posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD),depression,and anxiety symptoms and assessed for community violence exposure(CVE).Pearson’s correlation and analysis of variance were used to determine the relationship between PTSD,depression,and anxiety symptoms and ***:A statistically significant relationship was found between CVE and PTSD and anxiety symptoms among participants despite their having lower rates of exposure to violent events in com-parison with other *** association was found between violence and depression ***,the presence of anxiety and depression,as well as increased age of participants,was associated with higher rates of PTSD ***:We recommend that health care providers in smaller cities,where the effects of violent crime may be underestimated or overlooked,be informed of the existence of this pub-lic health problem within their community and that they screen at-risk patients for mental health problems.

A new grain topology-size relationship in three-dimensional(3D)polycrystalline microstructures has recently been established by considering the effects of non-random first nearest neighbor *** this contribution,a generalized form for this relationship is presented by considering the interactions of kth(k=1,2,3…)nearest neighbor grains,and large scale Monte Carlo-Potts model simulation is used to investigate the general neighborhood topological effect on the topology-size *** results show that,unlike their first nearest neighbors(k=1),the topological correlations of 3D grains with their kth layers(k 2)of nearest-neighbors may have trivial effect on the topology-size relationship.

All the compositions in the(1-x)Mg_(0.95)Ni_(0.05)Ti_(0.98)Zr_(0.02)O_3–xCa_(0.6)La_(0.8/3)TiO_3(0 ≤ x ≤ 0.2) series were fabricated using solid state sintering route. Mg_(0.95)Ni_(0.05)Ti_(0.98)Zr_(0.02)O_3 possessed excellent microwave dielectric properties with ε_r ≈ 17.1, Q_uf_0 ≈ 195855 GHz, and τ_f ≈-46 ppm/℃. t f was tuned through zero by mixing with Ca_(0.6)La_(0.8/3)TiO_3. In the present study, τ_f ≈-2 ppm/℃ with er ≈ 23.9 and high Q_uf_0 ≈ 115870 GHz was achieved for x = 0.15, i.e., for a mixture of 85% Mg_(0.95)Ni_(0.05)Ti_(0.98)Zr_(0.02)O_3–xCa_(0.6)La_(0.8/3)TiO_3.

Increasing the thrust-weight ratio of aeroengines requires development of high-strength and stable high-temperature materials. A data-driven design of Ni-based turbine disc superalloys is performed to improve the yield strength to reach the target. Through first-principles calculations determining the design superalloy system, the theoretical models and Calculation of Phase Diagram (CALPHAD) screening compositions, and machine learning extrapolating prediction, 14 compositions are selected from 2,865,039 composition combinations. Ni-17Cr-8Co-1Mo-1W-6Al-3Ti-1Nb-1Ta is selected to verify the design accuracy. Experimental tests prove that the designed alloy has trade-offs of microstructure with satisfying design targets, and then, the yield strength is higher in the designed alloy than in commercial superalloys, reaching 728 MPa at 850 ℃. A scheme for increasing the performance of the designed alloy is proposed by discussing the strengthening mechanisms, machine learning process, and alloying chemistry effect. The cross-scale data-driven design is regarded as an accurate and efficient way to design novel high-strength Ni-based turbine disc superalloys, whose significance is the obvious reduction of trial-and-error tests.

background Necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)is one of the leading causes of death in premature *** determine the factors present in the disease that lead to increased morbidity and mortality,manipulation of variables that are shown to have a positive response has been tested using various animal *** and manipulation of these variables are unwarranted in humans due to regulatory health *** The purpose of this review is to provide an update to previous summaries that determine the significance of animal models in studying the mechanisms of NEC.A large variety of animal models including rats,mice,rabbits,piglets,nonhuman primates,and quails have been described in *** reviewed the reported animal models of NEC and examined the pros and cons of the various models as well as the scientific question *** The animals used in these experiments were subject to gavage feeding,hypoxia,hypothermia,oxygen perfusion,and other methods to induce the disease *** of these models has been utilized to show the effects of NEC on the premature,undeveloped gut in animals to find a correlation to the disease state present in *** found specific advantages and disadvantages for each *** Recent advances in our understanding of NEC and the ongoing therapeutic strategy developments underscore the importance of animal models for this disease.

High-velocity compaction （HVC） provides an effective means in the field of powder metallurgy （P/M） to reduce the porosity as well as to ameliorate the mechanical properties of products. In this study, the green density of an aluminum alloy is found to be 2.783 g cm 3. The ejection force for the aluminum alloy is in the range of 23 to 80 kN and the spring back is found to be less than 0.40%. The hardness of the green body is in the range of HRB 30 to 70. The bending strength of the green body is in the range of 6 to 26 MPa, which are higher than that of other aluminum alloys prepared by the traditional compaction method.

In domestic animals,the body weight is the ultimate result of growth which forms the basis of meat ***,nutrition,breed and health are the main factors which influence the growth rate in *** which is the major factor affecting the prenatal growth either directly through the genotype of the fetus or indirectly through the genotype of the *** prenatal growth patterns and development of the camel fetus is just like the fetus of cattle,however,the meat output from the breeding she-camels is limited often due to longer gestation periods,longer milk feeding periods,lower calving rates under traditional management system.A lot of variation regarding camelid daily growth rate exists that varies widely between breeds,within breeds and *** is a significant effect of pre-weaning and post-weaning growth rates on the final body weights in *** system,the available milk quantity,husbandry practices and vegetative conditions are the main factors that affect the pre and post weaning growth rates of camel ***,it is partially dependent on the availability of browsing species throughout the whole *** this specific study,an effort has been drawn to look into the literature data for camel growth assessment.
