A Mathematical Model for Magnetohydrodynamic Convection Flow in a Rotating Horizontal Channel with Inclined Magnetic Field, Magnetic Induction and Hall Current Effects

Closed-form and asymptotic solutions are derived for the steady, fully-developed hydromagnetic free and forced convection flow in a rotating horizontal parallel-plate channel under the action of an inclined magnetic field and constant pressure gradient along the longitudinal axis of the channel. The magnetic field is strong enough to generate Hall current effects and the magnetic Reynolds number of sufficient magnitude that induced magnetic field effects are also present. Secondary flow is present owing to the Hall current effect. The channel plates are also taken to be electrically-conducting. The conservation equations are formulated in an (x, y, z) coordinate system and non-dimensionalized using appropriate transformations. The resulting non-dimensional coupled ordinary differential equations for primary and secondary velocity components and primary and secondary induced magnetic field components and transformed boundary conditions are shown to be controlled by the dimensionless pressure gradient parameter (px), Hartmann number (M2), Grashof number (G), Hall current parameter (m), rotational parameter (K2), magnetic field inclination (Θ), and the electrical conductance ratios of the upper (⏱) and lower (⏲) plates. Solutions are derived using the method of complex variables. Asymptotic solutions are also presented for very high rotation parameter and Hartmann number of order equal to unity, for which Ekman-Hartmann boundary layers are identified at the plates. A parametric study of the evolution of velocity and induced magnetic field distributions is undertaken. It is shown that generally increasing Hall current effect (m) serves to accentuate the secondary (cross) flow but oppose the primary flow. An increase in rotational parameter (K2) is also found to counteract primary flow intensity. The fish is an important food stuff and source of protein all over the world. In Bangladesh, fisheries sector contributes a lot, in the case of the earning foreign currency and meeting domestic need of the animal proteins. To fulfill the domestic need of protein and fish, Bangladesh imports fish and fish products from the neighboring county. In many studies, it was proved that most of the imported fishes are contaminated with formalin, which is the highly hazardous and carcinogenic chemical. Information was collected from the fish retailers and consumers on the marketing of the formalin treated fishes through survey using prescribed questionnaire at 18 different fish markets in 6 different districts of Bangladesh. It was found that most of the commercially imported fishes are highly contaminated with formalin. On the other hand, local big fishes, such as rui (Lobeo Rohita), catla (Catla catla) and mrigal (Cirrhinus cirrhosus) etc., are also formalin contaminated partially, but not all the fishes. All the local small fishes are free from the formalin contamination. In this study, it was found that, among the 939 fish samples collected from the different fish markets of the six districts, 213 fishes (22.68%) were directly contaminated with formalin. The contamination rate is so much higher in the big city like Dhaka (36.78%) and lower in the small town like Jamalpur districts (13.33%). This study also indicated that, all the village markets were totally free from the formalin contamination. As the fish traders used formalin to increase the shelf life of the fishes, it was also observed that, the shelf life of the local fishes or formalin free fishes was much higher and the organoleptic characteristics were much more excellent than the formalin contaminated local or imported fishes. Campylobacter jejuni is a prominent bacterial cause of human gastroenteritis. Campylobacteriosis outbreaks reported were related to the ingestion of the contaminated food. Meat are reported to be frequently infected with C. jejuni. It is well recognized that C. jejuni is one of the main causes of gastroenteritis in humans, and poultry meat is reported to be the main source. A number of studies in several countries have shown the occurrence of C. jejuni in animal farms, slaughterhouses, and meat. This review simply describes the occurrence, spreading, and public health significance of C. jejuni.

Effect of Establishment Methods and Weed Management Practices on Some Growth Attributes of Rice

Studies were carried out for two years to evaluate the effect of methods of sowing and weed control practices on the productivity of transplanted and direct wet-seeded rice in Dera Ismail Khan, NWFP, Pakistan. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design with a split plot arrangement. The planting techniques viz. transplanting and direct seeding were maintained in main plots while weed control practices included the use of granular herbicide Sunstar 15WG （ethoxy sulfuron）, Machete 60EC （butachlor）, conventional hand weeding, and the weedy check （control） were assigned to the sub-plots. Data were recorded on weed parameters like weed density and dry weed biomass 60 and 90 days after sowing （DAS）; agronomic parameters including plant population, number of panicles and paddy yield and physiological parameters like leaf area index and net assimilation rate 45 and 90 DAS. The planting methods and weed management significantly influenced most of the parameters studied. The data revealed that the paddy yield and its components were significantly higher in the transplanted method than that in direct-seeded method, while the weed density and biomass were lower in the transplanted plots than the direct-seeded plots. Among weed management tools, the maximum paddy yield was obtained in hand weeding, closely followed by herbicide application Machete 60EC during both cropping seasons.

Introduction: Treatment with renin-angiotensin-aldosterone-system (RAAS) blockers plays a major role in halting chonic kidney disease (CKD) progression. Aliskiren is the first orally available direct renin inhibitor (DRI). Objective: We studied the efficacy of aliskiren compared to losartan in patients with primary GN. Design and Method: This was a prospective open-label randomized control trial in patients with primary GN. Patients were randomized to receive either aliskiren or losartan to maximum tolerated doses for 24 weeks. Blood and urine investigations were measured at baseline and at 4-weekly intervals. Adverse effects were recorded. Results: 22 patients were recruited (aliskiren-11 and losartan-11). Their baseline characteristics were comparable with the exception of a higher proteinuria (uPCI) in the aliskiren arm. There were no significant differences in proteinuria, blood pressure and other renal parameters between both groups. At end-study, only patients in the aliskiren arm showed significant reductions in both the systolic blood pressure and in proteinuria. There were no changes in the other parameters of renal function over time and no adverse events occurred. Conclusion: Aliskiren appears to be as efficacious and tolerable as losartan both as an antihypertensive and antiproteinuric agent in this study.

麻元锡矿床是马来半岛东部花岗岩带内重要原生锡矿之一。为厘定矿区成矿花岗岩的形成时间及构造背景,本文开展了岩石学、锆石U-Pb年代学、岩石地球化学、Sr-Nd同位素及锆石Hf同位素研究。对2件矿区花岗岩样品的锆石进行了LA-ICP-MS U-Pb测试,获得了^(207)Pb/^(206)Pb-238U/^(206)Pb谐和年龄分别为(259.0±3.3)Ma(MSWD=0.77)和(261.3±2.8)Ma(MSWD=0.55),加权平均年龄为(260.30±2.0)Ma(MSWD=1.3)及(263.0±2.1)Ma(MSWD=0.15)。岩石地球化学分析显示,矿区花岗岩样品富SiO_(2)(73.09%~76.56%)、富K_(2)O(4.29%~4.91%),I_(A/CNK)为1.03~1.06,轻稀土富集(LREE/HREE为4.24~8.08),Eu负异常明显(δEu=0.08~0.20),富含大离子亲石元素(Rb、K、Th、U),亏损高场强元素(Nb、Ti)。样品全岩(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)_(i)为0.6991~0.7087、ε_(Nd)(t)为-5.30~-1.77、二阶段Nd模式年龄t_(DM2)为1.04~1.28 Ga。锆石ε_(Hf)(t)为-3.5~0.8,t_(DM2)=1.24~1.51 Ga。分析结果表明,麻元锡矿成矿花岗岩为高分异的高钾钙碱性I型花岗岩,成岩时代为中二叠世,形成于活动大陆边缘的岩浆弧构造环境,是特提斯洋向印支板块下俯冲消减过程中弧地壳熔融的产物。

Diverting of food waste（FW）from landfill and recovering it into essential materials is important to prevent environmental *** this study,a mixed FW collected from University cafeteria was treated using electric pressure sterilizer under the presence of saturated steam for 60 minute. About 2-3kg of FW consist of the same basic composition was feed into electric pressure sterilizer for the *** digested FW from the treatment was dried in oven for 24 hour at temperature of 105 o C to make sure the material is completely *** it was ground into a smaller particle to form compost like *** such as moisture content,pH,nutrient content and levels of heavy metal（Cd, Cr,Cu,Pb,Hg,Ni and Zn）in this material were examined. Data obtained from this study were compared to the specification and standard for compost *** results show that the level of heavy metal in this material is not exceeded compost limit value as stated in the standard. Presences of nutrient and low heavy metal show that there are potential for this material to be process into commercial material such as organic fertilizer.

In this study, in order to explain the solvent and spin state effects on the molecular structure of catechol-Fe complex [Fe(cat)3]n﹣?where n = 2 and 3, Hartree Fock (HF)-Density Functional Theory (DFT) hybrid calculations are performed at the B3LYP/6-311g(d,p) level of theory. The binding energies of Fe2+ and Fe3+ in high-spin state are higher than intermediate and low-spin states which show that the complex formation in a high spin state is more favorable. The calculated binding energies at different solvents indicate that the binding energies in polar solvents are lower than non-polar solvents. Furthermore, spectroscopic studies including FTIR and Raman spectrum in various solvents reveal that the formation of intermolecular bonds between the oxygen atom of carbonyl group and the hydrogen atom of solvent causes a spectral red shift. The calculated FTIR and geometry parameters are in good agreement with previous experimental data. Donor-acceptor interaction energies are evaluated due to the importance of the charge transfer in the complex formation. It is observed that the free electrons of oxygen atom interact with the antibonding orbitals of the iron. Finally, some correlations between the quantum chemical reactivity indices of the complexes and solvent polarity are considered. The study indicates a linear correlation between chemical hardness and binding energies of [Fe(cat)3]3﹣?complex.

The structural equation model (SEM) concept is generally influenced by the presence of outliers and controlling variables. To a very large extent, this could have consequential effects on the parameters and the model fitness. Though previous researches have studied outliers and controlling observations from various perspectives including the use of box plots, normal probability plots, among others, the use of uniform horizontal QQ plot is yet to be explored. This study is, therefore, aimed at applying uniform QQ plots to identifying outliers and possible controlling observations in SEM. The results showed that all the three methods of estimators manifest the ability to identify outliers and possible controlling observations in SEM. It was noted that the Anderson-Rubin estimator of QQ plot showed a more efficient or visual display of spotting outliers and possible controlling observations as compared to the other methods of estimators. Therefore, this paper provides an efficient way identifying outliers as it fragments the data set.
