Quasiparticle structure of superheavy nuclei in α-decay chains of -(285)Fl and -(291,293)Lv

Two mean-field potentials, Woods-Saxon and Skyrme based potentials, are used to calculate the energies of low-lying one-quasiparticle states. The spectra of the low-lying states and the α-decay spectra of nuclei belonging to the α-decay chains of ^285Fl and ^291,293Lv are calculated and compared with the available experimental data. Dependence of the splitting of the pseudospin doublets and of the energies of the unique parity neutron one-quasiparticle states on the mean field potential are discussed. As shown, the α-decay spectra could be different in the α-decay chain and at the direct production of the nucleus in a fusion reaction.

Characterization and Electrochemical Properties of Nanostructured Zr-Doped Anatase TiO_2 Tubes Synthesized by Sol–Gel Template route

A series of nanostructured Zr-doped anatase TiO_2 tubes with the Zr/Ti molar ratio of 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, and0.09 were prepared by a sol–gel technology on a carbon fiber template. The electrochemical performance of Zr-doped anatase TiO_2 as anodes for rechargeable lithium batteries was investigated and compared with undoped titania. Tests represented that after 35-fold charge/discharge cycling at C/10 the reversible capacity of Zr-doped titania（Zr/Ti = 0.03） reaches 135 m A h g^（-1）, while the capacity of undoped titania（Zr/Ti = 0） yielded only 50 m A h g^（-1）. Based on the results of the physicochemical investigation, three reasons of improving electrochemical performance of Zr-doped titania were suggested. According to the scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy, Zr^（4＋） doping induces a decrease in nanoparticle size, which facilitates the Li＋diffusion. The raman investigations show the more open structure of Zr-doped TiO_2 as compared to undoped titania due to changing of the unit cell parameters, that significantly affects on the reversibility of the insertion/extraction process. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results indicate that substitution of Zr^（4＋） for Ti^（4＋） into anatase TiO_2 has favorable effects on the conductivity.

Absolute Neutron Activation Analysis Technique of a Large Crude Oil Sample

This manuscript presents an application of calculation methods in neutron activation analysis (NAA) of a large crude oil sample. Monte-Carlo computer code was developed. The computer code calculates neutron cross sections and neutron flux density distribution in the interior large sample. ENDF/B-vII.0 data files and ENSDF BNL-NCS-51655-01/02-rev data files were used as nuclear databases in our computer code. HPGe planar detector efficiency registration technique and the software were developed for the absolute NAA technique of the large sample. The concentrations of Na, K, Ca, Sc, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, As, Br, Sr, Zr, Mo, Ag, Sb, Cs, Ba, Ce, Nd, Sm, Eu, Tb, Dy, Ho, Tm, Yb, Lu, Hf, Ta, W, Pt, Au, Hg, Th and U in the crude oil samples of Eastern Siberia oilfield were determined using calculation and relative techniques in the concentration range from 10-9 to 0.5%.
