Cholangiocarcinoma(CC) arising from the large intrahepatic bile ducts and extrahepatic hilar bile ducts share clinicopathological features and have been called hilar and perihilar CC as a ***,"hilar and perihilar CC" are also used to refer exclusively to the intrahepatic hilar type CC or,more commonly,the extrahepatic hilar ***,a major distinction can be made between papillary and non-papillary ***,most hilar CCs are well to moderately differentiated conventional type(biliary) ***,CK7,CK20,CEA and MUC1 are normally expressed,being MUC2 positive in less than 50% of *** main premalignant lesions are known:biliary intraepithelial neoplasia(BilIN) and intraductal papillary neoplasm of the biliary tract(IPNB).IPNB includes the lesions previously named biliary papillomatosis and papillary carcinoma.A series of 29 resected hilar CC from our archives is ***(82.8%) were conventional type adenocarcinomas,mostly well to moderately differentiated,although with a broad morphological spectrum;three cases exhibited a poorly differentiated cell component resembling signet ring *** was observed in 5(17.2%),four of them with an associated invasive carcinoma.A clear cell type carcinoma,an adenosquamous carcinoma and two gastric foveolar type carcinomas were observed.

Aims Habitat connectivity is important in conservation since isolation can diminish the potential of a population for adaptation and increase its risk of ***,conservation of naturally patchy ecosystems such as peatlands has mainly focused on preserving specific sites with exceptional characteristics,neglecting the poten-tial interconnectivity between *** order to better under-stand plant dynamics within a peatland network,we assessed the effect of population isolation on genetic distinctiveness,phenotypic variations and germination rates using the peatland-obligate white-fringed orchid(Platanthera blephariglottis).Methods Fifteen phenotypic traits were measured for 24 individuals per pop-ulation(20 distinct populations,Quebec,Canada)and germination rates of nearly 20000 seeds were *** distinctiveness was quantified for 26 populations using single nucleotide polymor-phism markers obtained via a pooled genotyping-by-sequencing *** isolation was measured as the distance to the nearest population and as the number of populations occurring in concentric buffer zones(within a radius of 2,5 and 10 km)around the studied *** Findings All phenotypic traits showed significant differences among *** results also indicated a pattern of isolation-by-distance,which suggests that seed and/or pollen exchange is restricted ***,all phenotypic traits,as well as a reduced germination rate,were correlated with either geographic isolation or genetic *** conclude that geographic iso-lation likely restricts gene flow,which in turn may affect ***,it is imperative that conservation programs take into account the patchy nature of such ecosystems,rather than targeting a few specific sites with exceptional character for preservation.

CdS and chlorine doped CdS(CdS:Cl) thin films with different Cl-doping levels(0,2,4,6 and 8 at%) have been deposited on glass substrates by a spray pyrolysis technique using a perfume *** effect of Cl doping on the structural,morphological,optical and electrical properties of the films was *** patterns revealed that all the films exhibit hexagonal crystal structure with a preferential orientation along the(0 0 2) plane irrespective of the Cl doping *** particle size value decreases from 22.03 nm to 18.12 nm with increase in Cl *** band gap is blue-shifted from 2.48 ev to 2.73 ev with increase in Cl doping *** the films have resistivity in the order of 10～4 Ω *** obtained results confirm that chlorine as an anionic dopant material can enhance the physical properties of CdS thin films to a large extent.

The inelastic scattering cross section for muons,μ^(-),with energies E=9-100 ev from the ^(229)Th nuclei is calculated in the framework of the second order of the perturbation theory for quantum *** dominant contribution to the excitation of the low energy isomer ^(229m)Th(3/2^(+),8.19±0.12 ev)originates from the E2 *** excitation cross section reaches the value of 10^(-21) cm^(2) in the range E≈10 *** value is four to five orders of magnitude larger than the electron excitation cross section and is sufficient for the efficient excitation of ^(229m)Th on the muon beam at the next generation of muon colliders.

The main characteristics of coherent bremsstrahlung (CBS) for the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider are calculated. At this collider dNγ~3 x 10^(8) dE_(γ)/E_(γ) photons of CBS will be emitted for a single collision of the beams in the energy range E_(γ)ev. It seems that CBS can be a potential tool for optimizing collisions and measuring beam parameters. Indeed, the bunch length σz can be found from the CBS spectrum because critical energy Ec ∝ 1/σz;the horizontal transverse bunch size σx is related to dNγ∝1/σ^(2)_(x). In addition, CBS may be very useful for a fast control over an impact parameter R between the colliding bunch axes.

The extraction of the physical parameters of long period gratings from the spectral response is not an easy process. We present a demodulation technique to synthesize the physical parameters of a long period grating recorded in an optical fibre. The demodulation is achieved through the implementation of a genetic algorithm. The extracted parameters are in agreement with the typical values known for long period gratings.

The anarchic urbanization of certain African cities favors the multiplication of the malaria parasite. Thus, the urgent mobilization of African cities is essential to combat this health risk. It is, therefore, with the objective of contributing to the investigation of problem areas that the present study evaluates malaria transmission and vector control strategies in the Cotonou v health zone in particular. This is a cross-sectional study taking into account four neighborhoods, including Wologuèdè, Sainte Rita, Gbèdjromèdé and the area around Etoile Rouge. Two nocturnal captures on voluntary humans and the method of spray were carried out in the dry season from December 2021 to February 2022. On the captured Anopheles, the ELISA Circum-Sporozoite Protein test was performed to determine the infectivity and calculate some transmission parameters. Finally, we conducted a survey using the second stage sampling method with one step to ask selected households about their knowledge of vector control methods, their use and the physical integrity of LLINs. We collected 2386 culicidae of which the majority was Culex quinquefasciatus. After the ELISA test, the 29 Anopheles tested, showed no infectivity, i.e. an EIR of 0 pi/h/n. In addition, 99% of the populations in the Cotonou v area use LLINs to protect themselves. However, coils, door and window screens, aerosol sprays, skin and household repellents, and periodic indoor spraying were used. Finally, the majority of nets observed had T1 tears, but there were also T2, T3 and T4 nets (P-value = 0.0). This study confirms that malaria transmission during the dry season in the Cotonou v health zone is almost negligible but not non-existent. Also, populations are exposed to the nuisance of Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes continuously throughout the year.

This paper aims to assess the Initial Investment valuation Methodology of the local regulator, facing the results of auctions, due to the high occurrence of low clearing prices observed from 2003 to 2008 and the high percentage of auctions without any bidder recently. The regulator investment forecasted defines the maximum value of Yearly Allowed Revenue and the bidder that offers the lowest YAR value wins the auction. The first type of analysis considers project cost, location, execution deadline, transmission line extension and type of all actions from 1999 to 2015, totalling about 3.361 billion USD. It was not found any correlation of those variables and the result of the actions. The second analysis compared the equipment and the additional costs breakdown of the regulator investment forecast with the real investment in projects from 2009 to 2013 and it rarely surpasses 5%. Suggestions are proposed based on the analysis.
