the aim of the present study was to determine the prevalence of bovine cysticercosis in both ca.t.e and buffloas, in Egypt and to assess the cysticidal efficacy of Balanites aegyptiaca fruits (B. aegyptiaca) and Moringa oleifera seeds (M. oleifera) extra.t. in experimentally infected mice. the study detected the level of tumor necrosis fa.t.r (tNF-α) to monitor the immune and inflammatory responses of experimentally infected mice. through meat inspection, a.t.tal number of 2125 male bovine, 2 to 5 years old, (1125 ca.t.e and 1000 buffloes) were examined under the a.t.ority of Albsatine and Alwaraq official aba.t.irs in Cairo Governorate, Egypt covering the period extended from March 2022 to April 2023. the overall prevalence of the disease among bovine was 7.8% (6.31% of ca.t.e and 9.5% of buffloes). Besides, B. aegyptiaca and M. oleifera extra.t. showed cysticidal a.t.vity in experimentally infected mice. A decrease in the numbers of cysticerci was found in all treated mice groups, and up to 88% reduction was achieved in the B. aegyptiaca.t.eated group;higher than that was recorded in both M. oleifera (72.23%) and albendazole-treated ones (80.56%). Postmortem findings proved that M. oleifera and B. aegyptiaca reduced cysticerci numbers comparable to a commercial a.t.elmintic. the study showed a significa.t.decrease (P 0.001) in tNF-α levels a.t.r treatment with Balanites and Moringa extra.t., compared with the untreated control and the albendazole-treated groups.

this work investigates the performance of combined hybrid high concentrated photovoltaic/thermal collector (HCPV/t) in Kuwa.t.harsh climate. the proposed system consists of triple junction solar cells (InGaP/InGaAs/Ge) a.t.ched to heat source to discharge thermal energy to cooling media. Published HCPV/t models do not consider the effect of shunt resistance which greatly affects the system performance. So, a single diode model employing five parameters including the effect of shunt resistance is ada.t.d to analyze the proposed system. to analyze the thermal performance of the proposed system, a.t.o-dimensional thermal model based on the technique of finite difference is introduced to determine the efficiency of the hybrid HCPV/t system. the present developed subroutines are integrated with other involved codes in tRNSYS software to calculate HCPV/t system efficiency. Electrical and thermal as well as the whole system efficiency at different weather circumstances are evaluated and assessed. the effect of different weather conditions, cell temperature, concentration ratio and the temperatures of the coola.t.fluid on system performance are studied. Current results indicate that the model of single diode is a reliable one rather than using the two-diode complex model. Compared to measurements provided by high concentrated PV manufa.t.rer, the current results revealed a.t.tal root mean square error of approximately 1.94%. Present predictions show that PV cell temperature has logarithmic increase with the rise in concentration ratio but with low values till concentration ratio of 400 suns a.t.r that the rise is fa.t.r at higher concentration values up to 1500 suns. Results also revealed that hybrid HCPV/t system works effectively specially in severe hot climate where thermal efficiency increases with high surrounding temperature for higher values of concentration ratio. Dynamic Increase Fa.t.r (DIF) due to strain rate effect was examined with documented experimental work done by Razaqpur, et al. In the experiment work, two 1000 × 1000 × 70 mm reinforced concrete slabs were constructed. the slabs were subjected to bla.t.loads generated by the detonation of either 22.4 kg or 33.4 kg of ANFO located at a 3.0 m standoff. Bla.t.wave chara.t.ristics, including incident and reflected pressures and reflected impulses were measured. the slabs were modeled by explicit analysis with or without strain rate effect to study their behavior under bla.t.load to compare their predicted and observed behavior. the predicted post-bla.t.damage and mode of failure for each model is compared with the observed damage of experimental work. It was concluded that when the dynamic increase fa.t.r added to concrete and reinforcement materials due to strain rate effect, the behavior of model under bla.t.load become closer to experimental work.

Implicit and explicit analyses were examined with experimental work done by Razaqpur et al. In the experiment work, two 1000 × 1000 × 70 mm reinforced concrete slabs were constructed. the slabs were subjected to bla.t.loads generated by the detonation of either 22.4 kg or 33.4 kg of ANFO located at a 3.0 m standoff. Bla.t.wave chara.t.ristics, including incident and reflected pressures and reflected impulses were measured. the slabs were modeled by implicit and explicit analysis to study their behavior under bla.t.load to compare their predicted and observed behavior. the post-bla.t.damage and mode of failure of each slab were observed. It was concluded that explicit analysis provides better modeling than implicit analysis.

Objective: to evaluate the synergetic effect of an ethanolic extra.t.of Egyptian propolis in immunization of BALB/c mice with taenia saginata.t. saginata) crude a.t.gen against bovine cysticercosis, with reference to its effects on liver and kidney ***: Sixty female mice BALB/c strain weighing 20 to 25 g and 6-8 weeks old were randomly allocated into six groups of ten mice each. Mice in groups 1 and 2(G1 and G2) were immunized intraperitoneally with 100 μg of t. saginata crude a.t.gen in 100 μL phosphate buffer saline emulsified in Freund's adjuva.t. Besides, the mice in G2 were administered with propolis extra.t.simultaneously with immunization. Control mice were either administered with propolis extra.t.G3) or injected with the same volume of phosphate buffer saline emulsified in Freund's adjuva.t.G4). the mice in G5 were non-immunized infected control while, those in G6 were non-immunized non-infected control. two weeks a.t.r the la.t.immunization, each mouse was challenged intraperitoneally with 5 000 oncospheres except those of G6. Ethanolic extra.t.of propolis was prepared at a dose 50 mg/kg body ***: a.t.r 24 weeks of challenge, the mice in G2 showed the highest level of protection(100%), with no cyst being detected rather than mice in G1(33.3% protection). Additionally,the ELISA results, in this study, showed higher a.t.body titer in G2 with reduction the a.t.ration in liver and kidney functions compared to ***: Egyptian propolis could increase the level of protection against experimental challenge infection with t. saginata eggs when administered simultaneously with immunization. Furthermore, it could enhance the production of a.t.bodies to immunized a.t.gen and decrease the a.t.ration in liver and kidney functions.

AIM to evaluate the evolution, trends in surgical approaches a n d r e c o n s t r u c t i o n t e c h n i q u e s, a n d i m p o r t a n t lessons learned from performing 1000 consecutive pancreaticoduodenectomies(PDs) for periampullary *** this is a retrospective review of the data of all patients who underwent PD for periampullary tumor during the period from January 1993 to April 2017. the data were categorized into three periods, including early period(1993-2002), middle period(2003-2012), and late period(2013-2017).RESULtS the frequency showed PD was increasingly performed a.t.r the year 2000. With time, elderly, cirrhotic and obese patients, as well as patients with uncinate process carcinoma and borderline tumor were increasingly selected for PD. the median operative time and postoperative hospital stay decreased significa.t.y over the periods. Hospital mortality declined significa.t.y, from 6.6% to 3.1%. Postoperative complications significa.t.y decreased, from 40% to 27.9%. there was significa.t.decrease in postoperative pancreatic fistula in the second 10 years, from 15% to 12.7%. there was a significa.t.improvement in median survival and overall survival among the *** Surgical results of PD significa.t.y improved, with mortality rate nearly reaching 3%. Pancreatic reconstruction following PD is still debatable. the survival rate was also improved but the rate of recurrence is still high, at 36.9%.
