The adsorption of sulfur compounds,in commercially available LPG,has been studied using different adsorbents,namely Zeolite,Zn O and house made date pits activated carbon（DP-AC）. It was found that the three adsorbents are capable of effectively removing sulfur compounds at different feed sulfur concentrations. The effects of height to diameter aspect ratio of the adsorption column,flow rate of LPG and input sulfur concentrations have been studied. A first order kinetics model has been used to describe the adsorption,and the kinetics constant was found to increase by increasing the flow rate of LPG and decrease by increasing the amount of adsorbent used. The developed model described the system fairly well,and can be used in designing and scaling-up of fixed-bed adsorption columns.

Although casting is commonly used to process aluminum alloys, powder metallurgy remains a promising technique to develop aluminum based materials for structural and functional applications. The possibility to synthesize Al-Mg-Zr alloys through mechanical alloying and spark plasma sintering techniques was explored. Al-10Mg-5Zr and Al-5Mg-1Zr alloyed powders were synthesized through wet ball milling the appropriate amount of elemental powders. The dried milled powders were spark plasma sintered through passing constant pulsed electric current with fixed pulse duration at a pressure of 35 MPa. The samples were vacuum sintered at 450, 500, 550, 600 and 620 ℃ for 10, 15 and 20 min. The Al-10Mg-5Zr alloy displays poor densification at lower sintering temperatures of 450, 500, 550 and 600 ℃. Its sinterability is improved at a temperature of 620 ℃ whereas sintering temperatures higher than 620 ℃ leads to partial melting of the alloy. It is possible to sinter the Al-5Mg-1Zr alloy at 450, 500 and 550 ℃. The increase of sintering temperature improves its densification and increases its hardness. The Al-5Mg-IZr alloy displays better densification and hardness compared to Al-10Mg-5Zr alloys.

The 4 th Euro-Mediterranean Conference of Natural Products and Drug Discovery: Back to Mother Nature (Bio Nat-IV) was recently (from March 3 rd through 7 th, 2015) convened in Cairo and Sharm El-Sheikh along the Red Sea coast of Egypt. Overall, the meeting provided a platform for scientists from different nations to discuss emerging ideas that focused on cell signaling in cancer;the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases;the identification and use of natural products as well as novel drug delivery approaches for the treatment of cancer,arthritis, diabetes, tuberculosis, fungal infection, etc.;and untapped or unconventional sources for natural products. This fourth in a row conference tried to bridge the gap not only between basic research and clinical applications, but also between developed nations and developing countries. With the continuing success of these past meetings, the fifth EuroMediterranean Conference of Natural Products and Drug Discovery(BioNat-V) is slated to be in February 2017.

Objective:To test the effects of extenders and packaging methods on morphological and functional characteristics of frozen thawed Ossimi ram ***:Ram semen was pooled,diluted in 3 different extenders:Tris-egg yolk(TEY),Tris-soybean lecithin(TSBL),and Tris-butylatedhydroxytoluene(TBHT),equilibrated at 5℃for 4 h,and packaged in straws or pellets for *** was evaluated for sperm progressive motility,viability,abnormality,and membrane integrity after dilution,equilibration and *** percentages of viable,early apoptotic,apoptotic,and necrotic spermatozoa as well as comet assay parameters were determined in post-thawed *** antioxidants capacity,malondialdehyde and lactic dehydrogenase were assayed in thawed seminal ***:After equilibration,only sperm membrane integrity was significantly higher(P<0.05)in TEY and TSBL than in *** thawing,TEY or TSBL in straws significantly improved sperm progressive motility and vitality(P<0.05).In thawed seminal plasma,TBHT or TSBL in straws and TBHT in pellets significantly reduced malondialdehyde,and TBHT in pellets significantly increased lactic dehydrogenase(P<0.05).TEY in straws increased viable sperm,while significantly decreased early apoptotic and apoptotic sperm(P<0.05).DNA damage was significantly decreased(P<0.05)in straws with TEY and TSBL,and tail moment decreased in straws with all extenders(P<0.05).Conclusions:Despite the disadvantages of dilution of cryopreserved semen with egg yolk,ram semen cryopreserved with TEY gives the best physical,morphological and functional characteristics in straws compared with pellets,followed by semen diluted with ***,semen diluted with TBHT or TSBL,regardless of packaging method,showed the highest impact on antioxidant status of cyopreserved ram semen.

对在巴基斯坦生长的四种热带豆科牧草:埃及的白三叶草、豇豆、草荚豆、苜蓿和两种禾谷类作物燕麦和玉米的营养成分、蛋白质品质和体外蛋白质消化率进行了研究评价其在动物营养方面的作用。结果表明,豆科牧草含粗蛋白比禾本科高,它们也是Ca、P、Fe三种元素的好资源。豆科牧草蛋白质虽然缺乏蛋氨酸、胱氨酸,但是以谷类饲料为基础的家禽日粮能得到良好的赖氨酸的补充。豆科牧草蛋白质体外消化率比禾本科牧草高。得出的结论是,豆科牧草和禾本科牧草作物配合使用能为畜牧生产提供平衡饲料。

为了评价牧草营养价值,对四种热带豆科牧草:埃及三叶草、豇豆、革荚豆、苜蓿和两种饲料作物燕麦和玉米的营养成分,蛋白质品质和体外蛋白质消化率作了研究。结果表明,豆科牧草含粗蛋白比禾本科高,而且富含Ca、P和Fe三种元素。豆科牧草蛋白质缺乏蛋氨酸、胱氨酸,但是以谷物类为基础日粮的家禽饲料是很好的赖氨酸补充料。豆科牧草蛋白质体外消化率比禾本科牧草高。得出的结论是,豆科牧草和禾本科牧草作物配合使用,能为畜牧生产提供平衡饲料。

Due to the lack of a uniform and accurate defi-nition of‘drought’,several indicators have been introduced based on different variables and methods,and the efficiency of each of these is determined according to their relationship with *** relationship between two drought indices,SPI(standardized precipitation index)and SPEI(standard-ized precipitation-evapotranspiration index)in different sea-sons was investigated using annual rings of 15 tree samples to determine the effect of drought on the growth of oriental beech(Fagus orientalis Lipsky)in the Hyrcanian forests of northern *** different evapotranspiration calcula-tion methods were evaluated on SPEI efficiency based on Hargreaves-Samani,Thornthwaite,and Penman-Monteith methods using the step-by-step M5 decision tree regression *** results show that SPEI based on the Penman-Monteith in a three-month time scale(spring)had similar temporal changes and a better relationship with annual tree rings(R^(2)=0.81)at a 0.05 significant *** change and a decreasing trend in the time series of annual tree rings are similar to the variation in the SPEI based on the Penman-Monteith *** affecting evapotranspiration,temperature,wind speed,and sunshine hours(used in the Penman-Monteith method),increased but precipitation *** non-linear modeling methods,SPEI based on Penman-Monteith best illustrated climate changes affecting tree growth.

The use of diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid(DTPA)chelating agent has shown promising results for enhanced oil recovery(EOR)in prior *** mechanisms,mainly resulting from rock-fluid interaction,have been proposed for chelating agent flooding;however,little attention has been paid to fluid-fluid interaction thus *** assessment of these mechanisms has primarily relied on macroscopic techniques such as core *** paper aims to investigate the injection of DTPA brine and its dominant mechanisms at the pore scale using a clay-coated *** micromodel tests were performed under oil-wet and water-wet *** a more precise examination of fluid/fluid interactions,the dynamic interfacial tension(IFT)and Zeta potential were *** was observed that the injection of DTPA brine in water-wet state changed the saturation distribution and increased oil *** on visual inspections,this change in saturation distribution could potentially be linked to the formation of micro-dispersions and viscoelastic interfacial ***-dispersions facilitate flow to unswept areas,and viscoelastic interface formation reshapes the interface between oil and brine,causing disconnected oil droplets to coalesce and thus increase *** the oil-wet state,the micro-dispersion formation and wettability alteration can be the dominant mechanisms,and the amount of recovered oil was higher than that observed in the water-wet ***,Zeta potential measurements at the interface between brine and oil showed a more negative value for DTPA brine,which is effective in wettability alteration and micro-dispersions *** results indicate that IFT reduction was not significant enough to be considered the dominant mechanism,although it assists in DTPA brine penetration into the crude oil and subsequent micro-dispersion formation.
