Trichloroethylene(TCE)is largely used in industries as a cleaning and degreasing *** is a potential carcinogen and is known to cause organ damage when exposed to prolonged higher *** simulation of fixed and fluidized bed adsorption of TCE can help in the development of efficient adsorption processes to prevent industrial workers in the vicinity from acute TCE *** the present work,a parametric optimization based numerical experimentation algorithm is implemented by open-source computational solvers to model fixed and fluidized bed adsorption of trichloroethylene vapors on activated *** algorithm optimizes four parameters pertaining to linear driving force(LDF)formulation of surface barrier and microporous *** optimized parameters were utilized to evaluateζ,a dimensionless number defined as the temporal and spatial average ratio of surface barrier diffusion resistance to microporous diffusion *** average value ofζis 0.139 for fixed bed operation(u/u_(mf)=0.7),1.130 for fluidized bed operation(u/u_(mf)=1),4.436 for fluidized bed operation(u/u_(mf)=1.5)and 6.317 for fluidized bed operation(u/u_(mf)=2).Therefore,the dimensionless numberζmay serve to predict the extent of change in amount adsorbed per unit adsorbent mass with change in fluidization velocity.

In this paper, we introduce the fractional wavelet transformations （FrWT） involving Han- kel-Clifford integral transformation （HCIIT） on the positive half line and studied some of its basic properties. Also we obtain Parseval＇s relation and an inversion formula. Examples of fractional powers of Hankel-Clifford integral transformation （FrHClIT） and FrWT are given. Then, we introduce the concept of fractional wavelet packet transformations FrBWPT and FrWPIT, and investigate their properties.

Magnesium aluminum silicate(MgO-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2),MAS)glass-ceramic was prepared via sintering route.X-ray diffraction(XRD)analysis indicates the formation of multiphase compound with magnesium silicate fluoride and cordierite as major *** studies of the compound shows a strong frequency dispersion of permittivity in the low frequency region followed by a nearly frequency-independent behavior in the high frequency *** presence of alkali ions(k+)in MAS glass-ceramic results in higher dielectric constant and higher *** loss(tanδ)seems to be reduced at higher frequencies after reaching the instrumental saturation at 1 *** properties of the material have been studied using a complex impedance spectroscopy(CIS)technique in a wide temperature(30-500℃)and frequency(100 Hz-5 MHz)*** complex impedance plots reveal the contribution of bulk as well as grain boundary effects in *** bulk resistance,evaluated from complex impedance spectrum,has been observed to decrease with the rise in temperature,showing a typical negative temperature coefficient of resistance(NTCR)*** smaller activation energy(Ea)of the compound within moderate temperature range suggests the presence of ions(k^(+)and F^(-))and singly ionized oxygen vacancies in the conduction *** nature of variation of the electrical conductivity,and the values of activation energy of different temperature regions,suggest that the conduction process is of mixed type.

The objective of this study is to identify system parameters from the recorded response of base isolated buildings,such as USC hospital building,during the 1994 Northridge *** state measurements are not available for ***,the response is nonlinear due to the yielding of the lead-rubber *** new approaches are presented in this paper to solve the aforementioned ***,a reduced order observer is used to estimate the unmeasured ***,a least squares technique with time segments is developed to identify the piece-wise linear system *** observer is used to estimate the initial conditions needed for the time segmented identification.A series of equivalent linear system parameters are identified in different time *** is shown that the change in system parameters,such as frequencies and damping ratios,due to nonlinear behavior of the lead-rubber bearings,are reliably estimated using the presented *** is shown that the response was reduced due to yielding of the lead-rubber bearings and period lengthening.

Due to the instructive role of the peristaltic phenomenon in the human body, interests have been developed in recent years towards peristaltic transport with various thermo-physical *** current investigation reveals the effects of the magnetic field and variable transport properties on the peristaltic transport of a Casson fluid slip flow through an inclined *** coupled partial differential equations regulate the fluid flow. Through the perturbation method, the momentum and energy equations are solved for small values of variable viscosity and thermal conductivity, and the closed-form solution is obtained for mass transfer. The impact on physiological quantities of related parameters of interest is evaluated and discussed via graphs. The results obtained for the current flow represent some interesting behaviors which have applications in the biomedical field.

Coffee is commonly consumed beverage in the world and it has been suggested to have beneficial *** acids(CGAs)are main ingredient of coffee beans which has been extensively used in nutraceuticals and ***,various therapeutic effects of chlorogenic acids have been ***,there are limited studies to investigate its anticancer *** the present study,we have used chlorogenic acid complex(CGA7)a decaffeinated water soluble green coffee bean extract to evaluate its cytotoxic effect on human and mouse cancer cell lines by using different *** our results we found CGA7 treatment induces cell death in a dose and time dependent manner in different cancer cell ***,CGA7 induced apoptosis was characterized by DNA fragmentation,PARP-1 cleavage,caspase-9 activation,and down regulation of Bcl-2,an anti-apoptotic protein and up regulation of pro-apoptotic protein *** findings indicated that CGA7 complex a potent anticancer molecule found in green coffee beans could be a safe bioactive ingredient for prevention of cancer.

Integrated Analysis of the Trees and Associated UnderCanopy Species in a Subalpine Forest of Western Himalaya,Uttarakhand, India

Subalpine forests are known as outstanding habitats due to co-existence of both temperate and alpine vegetation and are classic example of ecotonal zones. Limited but diverse physiognomy of trees inhabiting in subalpine forest results in variability within under-canopy habitat conditions. Studies were undertaken to assess population status, habitat preference and interferences to the trees and associated under-canopy herbs in a subalpine forest of western Himalaya. A total of lo woody and 23 under-canopy herbs were recorded in the selected subalpine forest area. At each stand, the number of tree species and under-canopy herbs ranged from 2 to 4 and 8 to lo respectively. Abies spectabilis, Acer caesium, Quercus floribunda, Q. semecarpifolia and Rhododendron arboreum were key tree species in this area. The density of main woody species was 280 to 119o individuals ha-1 at different stands. Herbaceous plants with rosette and clump growth habits were observed to have higher values for total basal cover and importance value index. Presence of some under- canopy herbs like; Dactylorhiza hatagirea, Malaxis muscifera, Picrorhiza kurrooa, Polygonatum cirrhifolium habitats also and Skimmia laureola showed that they are in the habitat specific specific. However, the presence of Frageria nubicola and Viola sp. was common in the selected stands. Felling of trees for timber, construction of temporary huts, fuel wood and lopping for fodder were main interferences for trees. On the other hand, trampling driven damage due to grazing, habitats degradation and overexploitation were observed key threats for under-canopy herbs. Integrated analysis including population studies, habitats preference and interferences to the trees and under-canopy herbs in this sensitive and important ecosystem will be useful for determining the conservation plans and ecosystem management.

Temperature dependent X-ray diffraction(XRD)and dielectric properties of perovskite Ba(Zr_(0.2)Ti_(0.8))O_(3) ceramic prepared using a standard solid-state reaction process is *** with phase transitions at low temperature,a new phase transition at high temperature(873℃ at 20 Hz),diffusive in character has been found where the lattice structure changes from monoclinic(space group:P2=m) to hexagonal(space group:P6=mmm).This result places present ceramic in the list of potential candidate for intended high temperature *** AC conductivity data followed hopping type charge conduction and supports jump relaxation *** experimental value of d_(33)=98 pC/N was *** dependence of polarization and strain on electric field at room temperature suggested that lead-free Ba(Zr_(0.2)Ti_(0.8))O_(3) is a promising material for electrostrictive applications.

Large-scale slope destabilization could be aggravated due to swift urbanization and ever-rising demands of geoengineering projects such as dams,tunnels,bridges and widening *** Highway-58 connects Delhi to Badrinath in India,which passes through complex geomorphological and geological terrain and often encounters cut slopes susceptible to slope *** the present investigation,a detailed geotechnical appraisal is conducted along the road cut slopes from Rishikesh to Devprayag in the *** vulnerable road cut slopes were demarcated for detailed slope stability analysis using Phase2D finite element modeling *** generalized Hoek-Brown(GHB)criterion was adopted for stability *** of 20 slopes,five slopes(S6,S7,S18,S19 and S20)are unstable with factor of safety(FoS)less than or equal to 1,and thus needs immediate *** FoS values of four slopes(S2,S9,S13 and S17)lie between 1 and 1.3,*** stable,and slopes S1,S3,S4,S5,S8,S10,Sll,S12,S14,S15 and S16 are ***-Coulomb(MC)criterion was also adopted to compare the slope stability analysis with GHB *** FoS calculated from GHB criterion is close to that using MC criterion for lower values of FoS whereas for higher values,the difference is *** the jointed rock in the Himalayan region,the nonlinear GHB criterion gives better results as compared to MC criterion and matches with the prevailing field ***,some suggestions are proposed to strengthen the stability of cut slopes.

This article is concerned with the study of pseudo-differential operators associated with fractional Hankel transform. The product of two fractional pseudo-differential operators is defined and investigated its basic properties on some function space. It is shown that the pseudo-differential operators and their products are bounded in Sobolev type spaces. Particular cases are discussed.
