Rheological behavior of semi-solid TiB_2 reinforced Al composite

The rheological behavior of the semi-solid Ti B2 reinforced Al-Mg alloy composite slurry was investigated,which is required for the mould filling simulations during the semi-solid *** B2 reinforced in-situ Al-Mg alloy composite samples were remelted and subsequently brought to the semi-solid temperature regime within the heating chamber of a Searle type *** order to understand the rheological behavior of composites,three different types of experiment were carried out,namely,steady state test,continuous cooling test and isothermal *** from that,the thixotropic nature of the slurry was confirmed from the obtained hysteresis loops during the *** results indicate that when isothermally held,the composite slurry exhibits pseudo-plasticity and shows shear-thinning behavior up to the shear rate of 1300 s^-1,and at higher shear rates（1300 s^-1）,it shows a shear thickening tendency,which is probably due to the agglomeration of non-deformable nano-Ti B2 *** pseudo-plastic behavior of the slurry was also estimated employing intermittent step changes of shear rate（shear jump test）.

Structural,morphological,optical and photoluminescent properties of spray-deposited ZnSe thin film

ZnSe thin films are successfully deposited by spray pyrolysis deposition technique. Deposited thin films are characterized by X-ray diffraction study, and it reveals that spray-deposited ZnSe thin films are polycrystalline with hexagonal crystal structure. Surface morphology is carried out by scanning electron microscopy. It shows cotton-like morphology, and optical properties, such as absorbance, transmittance, reflectance, band gap, refrac- tive index, extinction coefficient are studied. Photoluminescence shows strong emission at 497 nm. Also, spray- deposited ZnSe thin films are hydrophilic in nature, which is shown by contact angle meter.

Visible Light Excitable SCN^- Selective Fluorescence Probe Derived from Thiophene

An efficient fluorescence probe, 4-methyl-2,6-bis（（thiophen-2-ylmethylimino）methyl）phenol （DFPTMA） and its SCN adduct has been synthesized and characterized by different spectroscopic techniques like ^1H NMR,^13C NMR, QTOF-MS ES^＋, UV-Vis and FTIR spectroscopy. Single crystal X-ray structure of DFPTMA is reported. In presence of SCN-, DFPTMA exhibits significant fluorescence enhancement （λEx, 455 nm, λEm, 504 nm） in aqueous methanol （water-methanol, 1 ： 4, V/V, 0.1 mol/L HEPES buffer, pH 7.4）. Common bio-relevant anions viz. CH3COO^-, NO2, NO7, Cl^-, Br^-, I^-, SO4^2-, HSO4^-, N3^-, HAsO4^2-, Cr2O7^2-, H2PO4, ClO4^-, NCO^-, CN^-, CO3^2-, F^-, PO4^3-, S2-, HS- do not interfere in the recognition of SCN-. Lowest detection limit for SCN^- is 0.88 μmol/L with response time 〈5 min. The SCN assisted enhancement in emission intensity may be attributed to the formation of H-bond which enhances the rigidity of the molecular assembly.

Optical properties of electrochemically synthesized polypyrrole thin films:the electrolyte effect

Polypyrrole thin films are prepared by the potentiostatic mode of electrodeposition at ＋0.7 V versus a saturated calomel electrode （SCE）. The polypyrrole films are prepared in the presence of different electrolytes such as： p-toluene sulphonic acid （PTS）, oxalic acid and H2SO4. The prepared films are characterized by UV- vis absorption spectroscopy and normal reflectance measurements. The electrochemically synthesized films are semiconductor in nature. The band gap energy ofpolypyrrole thin films is found to be 1.95, 1.92 and 1.79 eV for H2 SO4, oxalic acid and p-toluene sulphonic acid, respectively. The normal reflectance spectroscopy of polypyrrole films shows that the maximum reflectance is in the presence of p-toluene sulphonic acid; this is may be due to a more distinct microstructure than the others. The optical constants such as the extinction coefficient, refractive index, optical conductivity, etc. are calculated and studied with various electrolytes.
