In this work,we report a class of wearable,stitchable,and sensitive carbon nanofiber(CNF)-polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)composite-based piezoresistive sensors realized by carbonizing electrospun polyacrylonitrile(PAN)nanofibers and subsequently embedding in PDMS elastomeric thin ***-mechanical tactile sensing characterization of the resulting piezoresistive strain sensors revealed a linear response with an average force sensitivity of~1.82 kN−1 for normal forces up to 20 *** real-time functionality of the CNF-PDMS composite sensors in wearable body sensor networks and advanced bionic skin applications was demonstrated through human motion and gesture monitoring experiments.A skin-inspired artificial soft sensor capable of demonstrating proprioceptive and tactile sensory perception utilizing CNF bundles has been ***,a 16-point pressure-sensitive flexible sensor array mimicking slow adapting low threshold mechanoreceptors of glabrous skin was *** devices in tandem with neuromorphic circuits can potentially recreate the sense of touch in robotic arms and restore somatosensory perception in amputees.

High-speed router design for network on chip(HSRDN) is proposed for controlling the traffic congestion and deadlocks. Diagonal based nearest-path routing algorithm for No C(DNRAN) can mitigate the effect of latency by opting for the nearest-path to reach the destination in a network and HSRDN is part of DNRAN. When we analyze the performance of DNRAN for all proposed topologies, nearly 50% better in terms of latency reduction and high throughput over existing router architectures. The proposed topologies(2 D-mesh,2 D-Star mesh over regional mesh(SMo RM), 3 D-mesh,and 3 D-torus) are tested with various applications, viz,audio, video and so on. Here, we also tested with cryptography application for DNRAN. When we analyzed the performance of experimental results, exclusively in 2 D-SMo RM nearly 0.6 times latency get reduced, area expanded by 0.25 and 0.33 times throughput increase in 2 D-SMo RM compared with 3 D-mesh and 3 ***, DNRAN showed an exclusive performance in 2 D-SMo RM compared with other two topologies.

Characterizing the influence of tide on the physico-chemical parameters and nutrient variability in the coastal surface water of the northern Bay of Bengal during the winter season

The spatial distribution of physico-chemical parameters（sea surface temperature（SST）, p H, sea surface salinity（SSS）, dissolved oxygen（DO） and Secchi depth） along with filterable nutrients（dissolved inorganic nitrate（DIN）,dissolved inorganic phosphate（DIP） and reactive silicate（DSi）） are measured in the winter months of November,December, January and February for four consecutive years from 2009–2010 to 2012–2013 on the shallow continental shelf（〈20 m bathymetry） of the coastal waters（up to 18 km away from shoreline） of the northern Bay of Bengal（n Bo B） during the highest high tide（HHT） and lowest low tide（LLT） hours for the first time. The variability of the coastal biogeochemical environment is assessed during the HHT and LLT hours and for this purpose, seawater samples are collected from seven different locations of a transect in the coastal region. Physicochemical parameters（except SST） show significant difference in magnitude during the HHT and LLT hours respectively. p H, SSS and DO are found to increase in the HHT hours and vice-versa. The data reveal that during the LLT hours, a relative increase of freshwater input in the n Bo B can have elevated the nutrient concentration compared with that observed during the HHT hours. The ratio of nutrient concentration is found to deviate significantly from the Redfield ratio. The abundance of DIP is much higher compared with that of DIN and *** anthropogenic sources of DIP from the upstream flow（especially the domestic effluent of several metropolises） can be mainly attributed behind such an observation. In order to characterize and establish the trend of such variation in such an important bio-climatic region, long-term and systematic ecosystem monitoring in the coastal water of the n Bo B northern Bay of Bengal should be carried out throughout the year.

This paper develops an adaptive neural network(NN)observer for proton-exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs).Indeed,information on the oxygen excess ratio(OER)value is crucial to ensure optimal management of the durability and reliability of the *** OER indicator is computed from the mass of oxygen and nitrogen inside the PEMFC ***,the measurement process of both these masses is difficult and *** solve this problem,the design of a PEMFC state observer is ***,the behaviour of the fuel cell system is highly non-linear and its modelling is *** to this constraint,a multilayer perceptron neural network(MLPNN)-based observer is proposed in this paper to estimate the oxygen and nitrogen *** notable advantage of the suggested MLPNN observer is that it does not require a database to train the ***,the weights of the NN are updated in real time using the output *** addition,the observer parameters,namely the learning rate and the damping factor,are online adapted using the optimization tools of extremum ***,the proposed observer stability analysis is performed using the Lyapunov *** observer performances are validated by simulation under MATLAB®/Simulink®.The supremacy of the proposed adaptive MLPNN observer is highlighted by comparison with a fixed-parameter MLPNN observer and a classical high-gain observer(HGO).The mean rela-tive error value of the excess oxygen rate is considered the performance index,which is equal to 1.01%for an adaptive MLPNN and 3.95%and 9.95%for a fixed MLPNN and HGO,***,a robustness test of the proposed observer with respect to measurement noise is performed.

Receptor-like cytoplasmic kinases （RLCKs） in plants belong to the super family of receptor-like kinases （RLKs）. These proteins show homology to RLKs in kinase domain but lack the transmembrane domain. Some of the functionally characterized RLCKs from plants have been shown to play roles in development and stress responses. Previously, 149 and 187 RLCK encoding genes were identified from Arabidopsis and rice, respectively. By using HMM-based domain structure and phylogenetic relationships, we have identified 379 OsRLCKs from rice. OsRLCKs are distributed on all 12 chromosomes of rice and some members are located on duplicated chromosomal segments. Several OsRLCKs probably also undergo alternative splicing, some having evidence only in the form of gene models. To understand their possible functions, expression patterns during landmark stages of vegetative and reproductive development as well as abiotic and biotic stress using microarray and MPSS-based data were analyzed. Real-time PCR-based expression profiling for a selected few genes confirmed the outcome of microarray analysis. Differential expression patterns observed for majority of OsRLCKs during development and stress suggest their involvement in diverse functions in rice. Majority of the stress-responsive OsRLCKs were also found to be localized within mapped regions of abiotic stress QTLs. Outcome of this study would help in selecting organ/development stage specific OsRLCK genes/targets for functional validation studies.

Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries,although a promising candidate of next-generation energy storage devices,are hindered by some bottlenecks in their roadmap toward *** key challenges include solving the issues such as low utilization of active materials,poor cyclic stability,poor rate performance,and unsatisfactory Coulombic efficiency due to the inherent poor electrical and ionic conductivity of sulfur and its discharged products(e.g.,Li2S2 and Li_(2)S),dissolution and migration of polysulfide ions in the electrolyte,unstable solid electrolyte interphase and dendritic growth on an odes,and volume change in both cathodes and *** to the high specific surface area,pore volume,low density,good chemical stability,and particularly multimodal pore sizes,hierarchical porous carbon(HPC)mate rials have received considerable attention for circumventing the above pro blems in Li-S ***,recent progress made in the synthetic methods and deployment of HPC materials for various components including sulfur cathodes,separators and interlayers,and lithium anodes in Li-S batteries is presented and *** importantly,the correlation between the structures(pore volume,specific surface area,degree of pores,and heteroatom-doping)of HPC and the electrochemical performances of Li-S batteries is ***,a discussion on the challenges and future perspectives associated with HPCs for Li-S batteries is provided.

Maintaining healthy watershed is pivotal to ensure sustainability in water resources thereby improving the carrying capacity of the *** and identifying the spatial variability of hydrologically sensitive areas(HSAs)in a watershed is an important step to prioritizing the landscape to maintain water sustainability with limited resources.A spatial technique known as Soil Topographic Index(STI)was used to identify HSAs in the *** study was conducted in Clinton and Tewksbury Townships in New Jersey,United *** different scenarios(STI>=9,STI>=10,and STI>=11)were conducted to understand the spatial distribution of HSAs in the *** following conclusions were derived from this ***,a more detail representation of HSAs in the watershed was observed when applying the STI technique with a fine scale light detection and ranging(LiDAR)digitial elevation ***,all three scenarios consistently identified perennial stream corridors as HSAs;therefore,it is important to protect perennial stream corridors through implementation of various land use ***,this study analyzes the land use pattern of HSAs under the three scenarios and identifies the HSAs for high intensity land uses such as agriculture and urban to be the high priority locations for implementing best management practices for water quality *** procedures developed in this study can be applied to watersheds in other parts of the world with similar physiographic characteristics.

Enhanced soil moisture improves vegetation growth in an arid grassland of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China

Climate change impacts on grasslands that cover a quarter of the global land area, have become unprecedented during the 21~(st) century. One of the important ecological realms, arid grasslands of northern China, which occupy more than 70% of the region's land area. However, the impact of climate change on vegetation growth in these arid grasslands is not consistent and lacks corresponding quantitative research. In this study, NDVI(normalized difference vegetation index) and climate factors including temperature, precipitation, solar radiation, soil moisture, and meteorological drought were analyzed to explore the determinants of changes in grassland greenness in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region(northern China) during 1982–2016. The results showed that grasslands in Inner Mongolia witnessed an obvious trend of seasonal greening during the study period. Two prominent climatic factors,precipitation and soil moisture accounted for approximately 33% and 27% of grassland NDVI trends in the region based on multiple linear regression and boosted regression tree methods. This finding highlights the impact of water constraints to vegetation growth in Inner Mongolia's grasslands. The dominant role of precipitation in regulating grassland NDVI trends in Inner Mongolia significantly weakened from 1982 to 1996, and the role of soil moisture strengthened after 1996. Our findings emphasize the enhanced importance of soil moisture in driving vegetation growth in arid grasslands of Inner Mongolia, which should be thoroughly investigated in the future.

Successful management of hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm complicating chronic pancreatitis by stenting

A 41-year old alchoholic male with a history of chronic pancreatitis was admitted for nausea, vomiting and weight loss. Angiogram was performed and demonstrated an aneurysmal sac with a narrow neck originating from the inferior aspect of the distal portion of the proper hepatic artery. The origin of the pseudoaneurysm was covered with a 5 mm × 2.5 cm Viabahn cover stent （Gore）. A repeat angiogram showed some leak and a second stent （6 mm × 2.3 cm） was deployed and overlapped with the first stent by 3 mm. Contrast was injected and a repeat angiogram demonstrated complete exclusion of the aneurysm. A repeat computerized axial tomography （CAT） scan of the abdomen after 24 h showed successful stenting. The patient had an uneventful post-operative course.
