This paper is concerned with a buckling analysis of an embedded nanoplate integrated with magnetoelectroelastic(MEE) layers based on a nonlocal magnetoelectroelasticity theory. A surrounding elastic medium is simulated by the Pasternak foundation that considers both shear and normal loads. The sandwich nanoplate(SNP) consists of a core that is made of metal and two MEE layers on the upper and lower surfaces of the core made of Ba Ti O3/Co Fe2 O4. The refined zigzag theory(RZT) is used to model the SNP subject to both external electric and magnetic potentials. Using an energy method and Hamilton’s principle, the governing motion equations are obtained, and then solved analytically. A detailed parametric study is conducted, concentrating on the combined effects of the small scale parameter, external electric and magnetic loads, thicknesses of MEE layers, mode numbers, and surrounding elastic medium. It is concluded that increasing the small scale parameter decreases the critical buckling loads.

The application of friction stir welding(FSW) is growing owing to the omission of difficulties in traditional welding processes. In the current investigation, artificial neural network(ANN) technique was employed to predict the microhardness of AA6061 friction stir welded plates. Specimens were welded employing triangular and tapered cylindrical pins. The effects of thread and conical shoulder of each pin profile on the microhardness of welded zone were studied using tow ANNs through the different distances from weld centerline. It is observed that using conical shoulder tools enhances the quality of welded area. Besides, in both pin profiles threaded pins and conical shoulders increase yield strength and ultimate tensile strength. Mean absolute percentage error(MAPE) for train and test data sets did not exceed 5.4% and 7.48%, respectively. Considering the accurate results and acceptable errors in the models' responses, the ANN method can be used to economize material and time.

Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activity of alkaline ion-exchanged ZnO/bentonite nanocomposites

Nanocomposites of zinc/bentonite clay were synthesized for use as an antibacterial material by a quick and simple alkaline ion exchange method. The synthesis of zinc doped bentonite nanocomposite was accomplished by placing bentonite in a melting bath of ZnSO_4 for 10, 20, 40, 60 and 90 min. The complexes were characterized by XRD, SEM and DRS. XRD analyses and SEM observations confirmed the diffusion of zinc to the clay surfaces. Antibacterial activity tests against Escherichia coli showed that bentonite did not present any antibacterial properties, but after alkaline ion exchange treatment, inhibition was noted. The highest antibacterial activity was observed with ZnO/bentonite composite alkaline ion exchange for 60 and 90 min. Interestingly, the leaching test indicated that ZnO/bentonite did not present any risk for drinking water treatment.

In this paper, non-equilibrium ignition conditions for magnetized cylindrical deuterium–tritium plasma in the presence of an axial magnetic field have been investigated. It is expected that temperature imbalance between ions and electrons as well as the axial magnetic field will relax the threshold of ignition ***, ignition conditions for this model are derived numerically involving the energy balance equation at the stagnation point. It has been derived using parametric space including electron and ion temperature(T_e, T_i), areal density(q R), and seed magnetic field-dependent free parameters of B/q, mB, and BR. For B/ρ 0.002 g cm^(-2), ρR> 0.25 g cm^(-2), and ρR > 0.02 g cm^(-2),respectively. The practical equilibrium conditions also addressed which is in good agreement with the corresponding one-temperature magnetized mode proposed in previous studies. Moreover, it has been shown that the typical criterion of BR ≥(6.13–4.64) × 10~5 G cm would be expectable. It is also confirmed that the minimum product of areal density times fuel temperature in equilibrium model is located in the range of T = 6–8 keV for all these free parameters, depending on the magnitude of the magnetic field. This is the entry point for the non-equilibrium model consistent with equilibrium model.

In this paper, we proposed a 2-channel demultiplexer based on photonic crystal ring resonator （PCRR）. For performing wavelength selection, we used two ring resonators, two different wavelengths were obtained by using two resonant rings with different values for the radius of dielectric rods. All the simulations and calculations have been done using Rsoft Photonic CAD software, which employs finite difference time domain （FDTD） method. The output channels were respectively at 1590.8 and 1593.8nm, correspondingly had the quality factors of 7954 and 3984, the crosstalk values of -22 and -11 dB separately. The total footprint of our proposed structure is 681.36 μm2. Results suggest that 2-channels in the proposed structure are characterized with high transmission efficiency and low band width, resulting in a very sharp output spectrum and high quality factor values.
