The inhibition ability of 4-amino-5-phenyl-4H-1, 2, 4-trizole-3-thiol (APTT), ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid (EDTA) and thiourea (TU) for mild steel corrosion in 1.0 mol/L HCl solution at 30 ℃ was investigated. Tafel polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were used to investigate the influence of these organic compounds as corrosion inhibitors of mild steel in 1.0 mol/L HCl solution at 30 ℃. The inhibition mechanism was discussed in terms of Langmuir isotherm model. Results obtained from Tafel polarization and impedance measurements are in a good agreement. The inhibition efficiency increases with the increase of the inhibitor concentration. The adsorption of the inhibitors on the mild steel surface follows Langmuir adsorption isotherm and the free energy of adsorption △Gads indicates that the adsorption of APTT, EDTA, and TU molecules is a spontaneous process and a typical chemisorption.

Ocular manifestations of children with atopic dermatitis in Saudi Arabia

AIM:To examine the incidence of ocular abnormalities in children with atopic dermatitis(AD)in Saudi Arabia and its association with the severity of ***:This is a cross-sectional study on 50 children with AD who were between 5 and 16 years of *** severity of AD was evaluated using the SCORing Atopic Dermatitis(SCORAD)*** the children underwent slit lamp exams,visual acuity assessment,intraocular pressure measurement,and corneal *** children were considered to have an ophthalmic abnormality if one or more of the following signs were present:glaucoma,keratoconus suspicion,in addition to lid,conjunctival,corneal,lenticular,or retinal ***:Based on the SCORAD severity index,14%of children had mild AD(7/50),38%had moderate AD(19/50),and nearly half had severe *** than half the children exhibited facial involvement,and half had peri-orbital *** mean SCORAD index was *** mean age was 10.48±3.6y,and the cohort showed a slight male predominance(54%males).Both eyes of the 50 children in the cohort were *** on the ocular examinations,92%of the patients showed ocular abnormalities:lid abnormalities(27/50)followed by keratitis(22/50).Four patients had moderate risk for keratoconus in one eye and eight patients were suspected to have ***,SCORAD severity index was not associated with age,sex,or the number or presence of ophthalmic ***:This is the first study in Saudi Arabia to evaluate the prevalence of ocular manifestations in children with *** results indicate that the majority of children with AD have ocular abnormalities that mainly include lid *** on these findings,larger scale studies are needed to affirm whether regular screening for ophthalmic abnormalities would be beneficial for children with AD in terms of early intervention and prevention of sight-threatening complications.

Singularly perturbed boundary value problem with nonlocal conditions is examined. The appopriate solution exhibits boundary layer behavior for small positive values of the perturbative parameter. An exponentially fitted finite difference scheme on a non-equidistant mesh is constructed for solving this problem. The uniform convergence analysis in small parameter is given. Numerical example is provided, too.

Bio based nitrogen doped carbon dots(N-CDs)were obtained from empty fruit bunch carboxymethylcellulose and ethylenediamine(EDA)through one-pot hydrothermal carbonization *** optimum as-formed NCDs were thoroughly characterized via Transmission electron microscopy(TEM),high-resolution TEM(HRTEM),Fourier transform infrared(FTIR),X-ray photoelectron spectra(XPS),UV–vis spectra(UV–Vis)and Fluorescence spectra(PL).Response surface methodology was statistically used to assess three independent variables that have major influence on the fluorescence quantum yield(Qy),including temperature(230–270℃),time(2–6 h)and EDA mass(10%–23.3%).Based on analysis of variance(ANOVA)results,synthesis temperature was found to be the most influential factor on the Qy,followed by time and EDA *** temperature,long synthesis time and high amount of EDA were satisfactorily enough for efficient carbonization conversion rate and obtaining highest Qy of *** obtained quadratic model(R^2=0.9991)shows a good correlation between the experimental data and predicted *** optimum synthetic parameters are of 270℃temperature,6 h reaction time and 23.3%of EDA *** optimized as-made N-CDs exhibited blue photoluminescence with both excitation dependent/independent phenomena and high nitrogen *** maximum emission intensity was 426 nm at a maximum excitation wavelength of 320 nm,with a Qy of up to 22.9%.XPS and FTIR data confirmed the existence of polar containing groups,such as carbonyl,carboxyl,hydroxyl and amino groups over the surface of N-CDs whereas nitrogen species in the form of(pyridinic and graphitic-N)were introduced in the aromatic carbon domains,which imparts the hydrophilic and photostability of *** into account the low-cost and sustainable production of N-CDs,this method considered a feasible route for converting low quality waste into value-added nanomaterials and utilizing for different functionalization processes and analytical applications.

This research reports an assessment of ionizing radiation in some chosen Dumpsites in Lafia Local government area of Nasarawa *** radiation measurement was conducted at four Dump *** survey was done using a radiation survey meter(Radex one Outdoor 55130719 NA).Radiation exposure rate in micro sievert per hour(μSvhr^(-1))was *** were taken by placing the detector at gonad level about 1 meter above the *** showed that the average annual effective dose rate in the selected dumpsites were 0.22 mSv/yr for Lafia modern market,0.17 mSv/yr for dumpsite opposite governor Isa house,0.15 mSv/yr for Timber shade Lafia and 0.20 mSv/yrfor Science School Lafia respectively with a mean value of 0.19 mSv/yr for all location,while the mean calculated excess life cancer risk(ELCR)is 0.65×10^(-3).Dumpsites yearly absorbed dose rate and their corresponding ELCR values did not exceed the 1.0 mSv/y Basic Safety Standard set for the masses by International Council on Radiation Protection(ICRP,1999)and mean world average ECLR value of 1.16×10^(-3).Based on these results there are no radiation consequence to the scavengers,dumpsite workers and residents living around the dumpsites.

Petrogenesis and Tectonic Implications of Peralkaline A-Type Granites and Syenites from the Suizhou-Zaoyang Region,Central China

In this study, we investigated the efficiency of our own two-axis solar tracking photovoltaic system which designed by us according to a fixed system. The system’s energy consumption was minimized by using tipper motor in the two-axis solar tracking system. Both systems were mounted in the same place to compare two-axis tracking system’s efficiency with fixed system’s efficiency fully and used the same breed panels, charge regulator, measurement device and battery. It was observed that Two-axis motion system efficiency was more than fixed system 31.67% over an annual average. This efficiency was measured on some days up to 70% during the winter months and up to 11% during the summer months.

In this study, we present systematic petrological, geochemical, LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb ages and Nd isotopic data for the A-type granites and syenites from Suizhou-Zaoyang region. The results show that the peralkaline A-type granites and syenites were episodically emplaced in Suizhou-Zaoyang region between 450±3 and 441±7 Ma which corresponds to Late Ordovician and Early Silurian periods, respectively. Petrologically, the syenite-peralkaline granite association comprises of nephefine normative-syenite and alkaline granite in Guanzishan and quartz normative syenite and alkafine granite in Huangyangshan. The syenite-granite associations are ferroan to alkali in composition. They depict characteristics of typical OIB （oceanic island basalts） derived A-type granites in multi-elements primitive normalized diagram and ybffa vs. y/Nb as well as Ce/Nb vs. y/Nb binary plots. Significant depletion in Ba, Sr, P, Ti and Eu indicates fractionation of feldspars, biotite, amphiboles and Ti-rich augite. The values of eNd（t） in Guanzishan nepheline syenite and alkaline granite are ＋1.81 and ＋2.26, respectively and the calculated two-stage model age for these rocks are 1 040 and 1 003 Ma, respectively. On the other hand, the Huangyangshan alkaline granite has eNd（t） values ranging from ＋2.61 to ＋3.46 and a relatively younger two-stage Nd model age values ranging from 906 to 975 Ma, respectively. Based on these data, we inferred that the Guanzishan nepheline syenites and granites were formed from fractional crystallization of OIB-like basic magmas derived from upweliing of metasomatized lithospheric mantle. The Huangyangshan quartz syenite and granite on the other hand, were formed from similar magmas through fractional crystallization with low input from the ancient crustal rocks. Typically, the rocks exhibit Al-type granite affinity and classified as within plate granites associated with the Ordovician crustal extension and the Silurian rifting.

Despite the increasingly widespread production of electricity from solar energy and despite Turkey is in the sun belt, Turkey cannot used its potential sufficiently effective and widely. Especially, this situation is of more importance for the Southeastern Anatolia Region Turkey’s most sunning area. In this study, among renewable energy resources the generation of electricity from solar energy in terms of both its current potential and production technologies and the solar energy potential of Southeastern Anatolia Region provinces and the degree and method of using this potential to generate electricity have been investigated. Suggestions have been made to benefit from the solar energy in a way of effective and widespread for Southeastern Anatolia Region. Also, a suggestion for convenient place which is 130 m2 and was formed by Karacada? volcanic eruption and is not used for agriculture and rocky area has been made.

Separation and Determination of Sulfonylurea Herbicides Usin...

This work describes the development and application of monolithic column modified with graphene oxide for separation and determination of chlorosulfuron and metsulfuron-methyl by capillary electrochromatography （CEC）. The column was well synthesized and polymerized. The morphology of the monolithic column was characterized by an electron microscope. The chromatographic performance of the monolithic column was evaluated by the separation of sulfonylurea herbicides. A rapid determination and good resolution of two herbicides were detected within9minutes using a simple electrophoretic buffer （50mmol/L sodium tetraborate with3%of methanol pH=9.0）.The calibration curves were0.53mg/L for metsulfuron-methyl and0.56mg/L for curves chlorosulfuron. The metsulfuron-methyl regression is y=0.50131x+0.22903and chlorosulfuron is y=1.28281x-0.2146, were y is the peak area and x is the amount of herbicides.

Background: The diagnosis of Non-ST Elevated Myocardial Infarction (NSTEMI) is dependent on elevation of high sensitivity troponin (Hs-troponin). The current cutoff point for Hs-troponin is highly sensitive but not specific for obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD). This study aims to determine the best cutoff point for diagnosing CAD in patients presented with NSTEMI. Methods: Our study included all patients admitted as NSTEMI that underwent coronary angiography (CAG). They were grouped into two groups: A and B. Group A has obstructive CAD of 70% or more stenosis and group B with non-obstructive CAD. Patients were assessed for their demographics, clinical history, laboratory and imaging results. Using SPSS version 22, the pooled cohort of patients were analyzed at significant level 0.05 and the data were tested for significant correlations between two predetermined groups. Results: Group A comprised 87.6% of the patients and both groups had a median age of 53 years. In Group A, 91% were males, 54% diabetics, 54% hypertensives, and median Hs-troponin was 145 ng/L. While in group B, 88% were males, 39% diabetics, 60% hypertensives, and median Hs-troponin was 54 ng/L.
