Additive manufacturing has rapidly evolved over recent years with the advent of polymer inks and those inks containing novel *** compatibility of polymer inks with nanomaterial inks remains a great *** yet effective methods for interface improvement are highly sought-after to significantly enhance the functional and mechanical properties of printed polymer *** this study,we developed and modified a Ti_(3)C_(2) MXene ink with a siloxane surfactant to provide compatibility with a polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)*** rheology of all the inks was investigated with parameters such as complex modulus and viscosity,confirming a self-supporting ink behaviour,whilst Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy exposed the inks’reaction *** modified MXene nanosheets have displayed strong interactions with PDMS over a wide strain *** electrical conductivity of 6.14×10^(−2) S cm^(−1) was recorded for a stretchable nanocomposite conductor containing the modified MXene *** nanocomposite revealed a nearly linear stress-strain relationship and a maximum stress of 0.25 *** 5%strain,the relative resistance change remained below 35%for up to 100 cycles,suggesting high flexibility,conductivity and mechanical *** study creates a pathway for 3D printing conductive polymer/nanomaterial inks for multifunctional applications such as stretchable electronics and sensors.

Digital Elevation Models(DEMs)contain topographic relief data that are vital for many geoscience *** study relies on the vertical accuracy of publicly available latest high-resolution(30 m)global DEMs over *** models are(1)the ALOS World 3D-30 m(AW3D30),(2)the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 1 Arc-Second CBand Global DEM(SRTM 1)and(3)the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Global DEM Version 2(ASTER GDEM 2).After matching their coordinate systems and datums,the horizontal positional accuracy evaluation was carried out and it shows that geolocation errors significantly influence the vertical accuracy of global *** this,the three models are compared among them,in order to access random and systematic effects in the elevation data each of them ***,heights from 555 GPS/leveling points distributed all over Cameroon are compared to each DEM,for their vertical accuracy *** and robust statistical measures,normality test,outlier detection and removal were used to describe the vertical quality of the *** test of the normality rejected the hypothesis of normal distribution for all tested global *** vertical accuracies obtained for the three models after georeferencing and gross error removal in terms of Root Mean Square(RMS)and Normalized Median Absolute Deviation(NMAD)are:AW3D30(13.06 m and 7.75 m),SRTM 1(13.25 m and 7.41 m)and ASTER GDEM 2(18.87 m and 13.30 m).Other accuracy measures(MED,68.3% quantile,95% quantile)supply some evidence of the good quality of AW3D30 over ***,the effect of land cover and slope on DEM vertical accuracy was also *** models have proved to be worse in the areas dominated by forests and shrubs *** 1 and AW3D30 are more resilient to the effects of the scattering objects respectively in forests and cultivated *** dependency of DEMs accuracy on the terrain roughness is *** all slope intervals,AW3D30 is performing

Three different aquatic ecosystems(an urban pond,Kelana Jaya Pond;a polluted river,Sepang River;and the intertidal and offshore areas of the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia)with different sets of ecological backgrounds and human activities were reviewed and assessed for the levels of Cu and Zn contamination with special reference to those found in polluted sediments collected from the Sepang *** discussion on the contamination levels of Cu and Zn in the aquatic environment of Peninsular Malaysia was based on a comparison of the metal contamination of 4 kinds of aquatic *** comparison of 4 different areas was based on ① total concentrations of 2 metals;② the concentrations and percentages of the nonresistant(EFLE,acid-reducible and oxidisable-organic)and resistant geochemical fractions;and ③ correlation coefficients(R-values)based on data of 4 areas separately and a combination of 4 *** Sepang River recorded nonresistant fractions of 63.1% for Zn and 55.8% for Cu in addition to slightly lower metal concentrations when compared to those(60%-70%)reported before the shutting down of the piggery activities in that *** nonresistant metal percentages(55%-63%)indicated that the metal concentrations were still dominated by anthropogenic sources since nonresistant fraction of metals were mostly contributed by anthropogenic *** positive results from the four different aquatic environments assessed here provided strong evidence to show that Malaysia's aquatic environment had received anthropogenic Cu and *** present study also showed that the percentage of the nonresistant fraction and the R-values based on correlation analysis of Cu and Zn could be used as indicators of Cu and Zn pollution in the Malaysian aquatic *** on the present data,the correlation coefficients(R-values)are potential indicators of EFLE Cu and acid-reducible Cu of the *** use of R-values as indicators of metal pollution is suggested and it

The distribution and concentrations of Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn were determined in the gills and remaining soft tissues of Perna viridis collected from 12 geographical sites (10 from the west and 2 from the east coastal waters) of Peninsular Malaysia. All samples showed that the levels of Cd, Pb and Zn were generally higher in the gill than those in the remaining soft tissues. These results could be due to the fact that gills are the first organ of metal accumulation and larger surface area with mucus sheets in the organ. Since the mussel gill is a better accumulator of Cd, Pb and Zn of ambient seawater than remaining soft tissue, it is a potential indicator of ambient levels of dissolved metals in the ambient seawater. However, further validations based on laboratory conditions are needed.

Mining of plant-derived antimicrobials is the major focus at current to counter antibiotic resistance. This study was conducted to characterize the antimicrobial activity and mode of action of linalyl anthranilate(LNA) against carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae(KPC-KP). LNA alone exhibited bactericidal activity at 2.5%(V/V), and in combination with meropenem(MPM) at 1.25%(V/V). Comparative proteomic analysis showed a significant reduction in the number of cytoplasmic and membrane proteins,indicating membrane damage in LNA-treated KPC-KP cells. Up-regulation of oxidative stress regulator proteins and down-regulation of oxidative stress-sensitive proteins indicated oxidative stress. Zeta potential measurement and outer membrane permeability assay revealed that LNA increases both bacterial surface charge and membrane permeability. Ethidium bromide influx/efflux assay showed increased uptake of ethidium bromide in LNA-treated cells, inferring membrane damage. Furthermore, intracellular leakage of nucleic acid and proteins was detected upon LNA treatment. Scanning and transmission electron microscopies again revealed the breakage of bacterial membrane and loss of intracellular materials. LNA was found to induce oxidative stress by generating reactive oxygen species(ROS) that initiate lipid peroxidation and damage the bacterial membrane. in conclusion, LNA generates ROS, initiates lipid peroxidation, and damages the bacterial membrane, resulting in intracellular leakage and eventually killing the KPC-KP cells.

AiM： TO observe the effects of pre-moxibustion on apoptosis and proliferation of gastric mucosal cell in rats with stress-induced ulcer, and to analyze the relationship between those effects and the expression of heat-shock protein 70 （HSP70）. METHODS： Sixty healthy Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned into four groups, namely group A, B, C and D. The animal model of stress ulcer was established by water immersion and restraint stress. The rats in group A, B, and D served as the restraint, model, and non-acupoint controls, respectively, while those in group C received moxibustion at Zusanli and Uangmen points. immunohistochemical methodology was used to detect the expression of HSP70, apoptosis index （Ai, × 10^-6/μm^2） and proliferation index （PCNA-Li, × 10^-6/μm^2）. The mucosal expression of transforming growth factor α （TGF-α） was detected by radioimmunoassay. RESULTS： iVloxibustion at Zusanli and Liangmen points significantly decreased the gastric injury and the apoptosis of gastric mucosal cells, while markedly increased the mucosal expression of TGF-α and HSP70 as well as the proliferation of gastric mucosal cells. Compared with group A, ulcer index （Ui）（26.8 ± 9.8 vs 12.0 ± 5.9, P 〈 0.01）, Ai （9.6 ± 4.2 vs 4.4 ± 2.6, P 〈 0.05） and expression of HSP70 （9.6 ± 4.2 vs 4.4 ± 2.6, P 〈 0.05） were significantly increased, but the content of TGF-α （104.7 ± 51.2 pg/mL vs 254.0 ± 86.9 pg/mL, P 〈 0.01） and PCNA-Li （6.9 ± 4.7 vs 14.9 ± 4.6, P 〈 0.05） were significantly decreased in group B. However, ulcer index values （Ui） and Ai were obviously lower in group C compared to groups B and D （14.1 ± 5.4 vs 26.8 ± 9.8 and 26.2 ± 7.7, P 〈 0.01, 3.0 ± 1.6 vs 9.6 ± 4.2 and 8.2 ± 5.2, P 〈0.05, respectively）, but content of TGF-α （237.0 ± 72.6 pg/mL vs 104.7 ± 51.2 pg/mL and 154.1 ± 61.3 pg/mL, P 〈0.01） and expression of HSP70 （0.13 ± 0.03 vs 0.08 ± 0.06 and 0.06 ± 0.04, P 〈 0.05） were higher in group C. Kelana Jaya Municipal Park is a popular recreation park in Petaling Jaya. The five lakes, located within the Park, were ex-mining ponds, functioning as flood retention ponds and receiving effluents from nearby human activities mainly from residents and transportation. A study was conducted to determine the distribution and sources of heavy metals (Cd, Cu and Zn) in the sediments of Kelana Jaya Lakes. Concentrations of Cd, Cu, and Zn for surface sediment were determined by using aqua-regia method and sequential extraction technique. Total Cd concentrations ranged from 0.48 μg/g to 2.68 μg/g dry weight (dw) for all lakes. Total Cd concentrations in sediment of all lakes exceeded CCME (Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment, 2001) guidelines. Total Cu concentrations ranged from 7.37 μg/g to 73.6 μg/g (dw). Only Cu concentration in one lake exceeded the CCME guidelines besides having the highest mean concentration among all. Total Zn concentrations ranged from 107 μg/g to 529 μg/g (dw). Again, The Zn concentrations in three lakes were found to exceed CCME guidelines for Zn concentration in freshwater sediment. Geochemical study on sediment revealed that nonresistant fractions for Cd, Cu and Zn for other lakes there were higher than ‘resistant’ fraction. The elevated levels and most percentages (>50%) of nonresistant fractions of Cu and Zn indicated that lakes in the park, especially near oxidation pond and monsoon drains, could have received anthropogenic metals from domestic wastes. Rehabilitation program and regular biomonitoring at Kelana Jaya Lakes are therefore recommended.
