The complex dielectric permit tivity (ε* =ε′-jε″ ) and ac conductivity (σac) of Au/SnO_(2)/n-Si(MOS) structures are studied using capacitance (C) and conductance (G(ω) ) measurements in a wide temperature range of 125-400 K for six different frequency *** is observed that the C and G(ω) values decrease with the increasing frequency,while they increase with the increasing *** observed nature of the C is due to the inability of the dipoles to orient in a rapidly varying electric *** experimental values of the dielectric constant ε′,dielectric loss ε",loss tangent tanδ and σac are found to be strong functions of frequency and *** values of the ε′ and ε″ are found to decrease with the increasing frequency and increase with the increasing *** σac is found to increase with the increasing frequency and *** energy (Ea),from the Arrhenius plot,is studied to discuss the conduction mechanism in a MOS structure.

A novel aluminum iron oxide （Al/AlFe2O4/p-Si） Schottky photodiode was successfully fabricated via the sol-gel coating process. The microstructure of the spinel ferrite （AlFe2O4） was examined by atomic force microscopy. The current-voltage characteristics of the fabricated photodiode were studied under dark and different illumination conditions at room temperature. By using the thermionic emission theory, the forward bias I-V characteristics of the photodiode are analyzed to determine the main electrical parameters such as the ideality factor （n） and barrier height （ФB0） of the photodiode. The values of n and ФB0 for all conditions are found to be about 7.00 and 0.76 eV, respectively. In addition, the values of series resistance （Rs） are determined using Cheung＇s method and Ohm＇s law. The values of Rs and shunt resistance （Rsh） are decreased with the increase of illumination intensity. These new spinel ferrites will open a new avenue to other spinel structure materials for optoelectronic devices in the near future.

In this paper, the electrical parameters of Au/n-Si （MS） and Au/Si3N4/n-Si （MIS） Schottky diodes are obtained from the forward bias current-voltage （I-V） and capacitance-voltage （C-V） measurements at room temperature. Experimental results show that the rectifying ratios of the MS and MIS diodes at ± 5 V are found to be 1.25 ×103 and 1.27 ×104, respectively. The main electrical parameters of the MS and MIS diodes, such as the zero-bias barrier height （rbBo） and ideality factor （n）, are calculated to be 0.51 eV （I-V）, 0.53 eV （C-V）, and 4.43, and 0.65 eV （I-V）, 0.70 eV （C-V）, and 3.44, respectively. In addition, the energy density distribution profile of the interface states （Nss） is obtained from the forward bias I-V, and the series resistance （Rs） values for the two diodes are calculated from Cheung＇s method and Ohm＇s law.

The frequency dependence of admittance measurements （capacitance–voltage （C–V ） and conductance–voltage （G/ω–V ）） of Au/SnO2 /n-Si （MOS） capacitors was investigated by taking into account the effects of the interface states （N ss ） and series resistance （Rs ） at room temperature. Admittance measurements were carried out in frequency and bias voltage ranges of 1 kHz–1 MHz and （ 5V）–（＋9V）, respectively. The values of N ss and R s were determined by using a conductance method and estimating from the admittance measurements of the MOS capacitors. At low frequencies, the interface states can follow the AC signal and yield excess capacitance and conductance. In addition, the parallel conductance （G p /ω） versus log（f） curves at various voltages include a peak due to the presence of interface states. It is observed that the N ss and their time constant （τ） range from 1.23 ×10 12 eV-1 ·cm-2 to 1.47 ×10 12 eV-1 ·cm-2 and from 7.29 ×10-5 s to 1.81 ×10-5s, respectively.

In this study, the synthesis of bis-（2-ethylhexyl） terephthalate, via the transesterification reaction of dimethyl terephthalate （DMT） by 2-ethylhexanol in the presence of different heterogeneous catalysts, such as Pb（OAc）2·3H2O, Cd（OAc）2·2H2O, Zn（OAc）2·2H2O, Hg（OAc）2·Ca（OAc）2·H2O, Cu（OAc）2·H2O, NaOAc, CaCO3, CaO, ZnSO4·7H2O, and sulfated zirconia, has been investigated. The reactivity of the catalysts in the reaction progress has been studied and compared. It was found that, hydrated cadmium acetate and sulfated zirconia were reactive catalysts to this reaction. The extent of transesterification of methyl ester groups reached up to 93% and 85.6% using these catalysts, respectively.

Esterification or transesterification reactions are usually carried out in the presence of homogeneous or heterogeneous catalysts. However, recently a new method was reported for the esterification of carboxylic acids by tributyl borate under solvent- and catalyst-free conditions. In order to show the synthetic ability of trialkyl borate esters in the esterification reactions, here, the esterification of other carboxylic acids and diacids by tributyl-, triisoamyl-, and tribenzyl borate under the same conditions were reported. Some of the prepared ester and diester products have found wide applications as plasticizers and synthetic ester base lubricants. The esterification reactions have been cleanly carried out in the absence of any solvent under catalyst-free conditions. The maximum rate belongs to isoamyl trichloroacetate （VIb） which reached about 76% within about 6.5 h. On the basis of obtained findings, it seems that electron withdrawing groups on carboxylic acid facilitate the esterification reaction.

Can Mucosectomy be Always Performed in Complicated Cases of Choledochal Cysts

Introduction: If the surgical dissection is too risky in choledochal cyst, mucosectomy is defined as a beneficial technical method in the literature. To discuss in this manner, we present this case. Case: 9 years old girl was referred to our clinic due to multipl stones in the gallbladder. History and physicial examination could not be performed effectively because of her cerebral palsy. Ultrasonography showed choledochal cyst containing multipl stones. MR cholangiography showed multipl stones in the dilated choledochus. During the dissection, the cyst appeared extremely adherent to the adjacent structures and cyst wall was so thin and transparent. The mucosectomy was not thought to be a good option to carry out for this case. For this reason, cyst was totally excised. Discussion: The preferred method for choledochal cyst is total cyst excision and Roux-en Y hepaticoenterostomy. When the dissection is unsafe to perform, posterior wall mucosectomy may be performed. However, like in our case, when the diagnosis is delayed, the cyst wall may become too thin and may be attached very strongly to the adjacent structures. So, mucosectomy is impossible and full layer total cyst excision remains as the only alternative in spite of its high risks.

Objective: Cutaneous silent period (CSP), which is a spinal reflex mediated b y A- δ cutaneous afferents, is transient suppression of the electromyographic activity. In this study, our aim is to investigate CSPs of vastus medialis musc le (vm- CSP)- evoked by the stimulation of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (LFCN) in healthy controls and in patients with meralgia paresthetica (MP). Met hods: Twenty- one patients with MP (17 unilateral, 4 bilateral) and 27 healthy controls were included. Nerve conduction studies of LFCN and vm- CSP were analy zed in all subjects. A stimulus train consisting of five electrical shocks was a pplied to the skin at the anterolateral side of the thigh for recording of the v m- CSP. Results: Nerve conduction abnormalities of LFCN were observed in all pa tients with MP. Mean duration of vm- CSP was 69.7± 9.2 ms, and mean onset late ncy was 44.7± 6.9 in healthy controls. Onset latency of vm- CSP was significan tly prolonged and the duration of vm- CSP was significantly shortened in patien ts with MP. Vm- CSP abnormalities were observed in 20/25 extremities with MP. C onclusions: Dysfunction of A- δ afferents may cause these findings in patient s with MP. Additionally, spinal modulation of pain may also play a role in the e xplanation of our findings. Significance: The present study demonstrates the CSP alterations in the patients with entrapment neuropathy of a cutaneous nerve.
