Erector spinae plane block (ESPB) is a novel fascial plane block that was first described in 2016. It is considered an alternative for brachial plexus blocks in shoulder surgeries as the erector spinae muscle extends to the cervical level. Herein, we present a successful multilevel ESPB plus an interscalene block using liposomal bupivacaine in a 45-year-old female patient with metastatic sarcoma who presented for scapula and proximal humerus resection. The post-operative course was smooth, and the patient was discharged home on post-operative day 2 with minimal narcotic requirements.

To estimate the situation of the breast-feeding, we made a survey (investigation) in the wilaya of Tébessa in Algeria. Our sample was chosen at random. He is constituted by 200 mothers and 200 children aged 0 to-24-month. A questionnaire, beforehand established, is subjected to the mothers. Our statistical analysis is based on the test of Chi2 and the calculation of the percentages. It emerges from our work that: the exclusive breast-feeding is practised by 50.50 % of the cases. The breast-feeding is less practised by the salaried women 40.91 %. The practice of the exclusive feeding increases when the academic level of the mother decreases (50.80% vs. 46.15%), the rate of the mixed feeding and the artificial feeding increases when the academic level increases. The circle of acquaintances plays an important role in the choice of the mode of feeding with 53.47% of the cases. The first food given to the Child within first hour which has followed the childbirth: the maternal milk with 66.5% was. The main causes of the stop of the breast-feeding are: the health of the woman, the incapacity of the milk, the resumption of work the aesthetics of the woman and the arien of a new pregnancy. 72.78%, of the mothers have chooses the breast-feeding because it is better for the health of the child. The average duration of the feeding is of (4.68 ± 4.437 months) the day of the survey. A better information of the population about the feeding and a rationalization of the marketing of industrial milk, could help in a better promotion of the breast-feeding.

The Impact of miRNA-155 Expression on Treatment Outcome in Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia Patients

Background: Acute myeloid leukemia is a heterogeneous hematologic malignancy associated with gene mutations, chromosomal rearrangements, deregulation of gene expression and epigenetic modifications. The treatment outcome of AML is highly variable signifying the heterogeneous nature of the disease. Aim of the Study: To evaluate miRNA-155 expression level as a prognostic marker for adult patients with acute myeloid leukemia. Patients and Methods: 101 subjects were included in this study. They were classified into 2 groups, patient group (61 adult patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia) and control group (40 apparently healthy adult subjects). miRNA-155 expression was assessed using real time PCR using QIAGEN, miScript, Quanti Tect and Rotor-isc (QIAGEN Group) PAXgene (pre Analytix Gmbh). Samples were either peripheral blood or bone marrow aspiration sample. Results: Roc curve detected 2.85 as best fit value of miRNA-155 for discriminating patients from healthy controls with sensitivity 92.3%, specificity 88.5%, AUC 0.98 and CI (0.96 - 0.99) (p < 0.001). The 75th percentile value of the patient group was taken as prognostic cut off value with a value < 9.8 as low miRNA-155 and a value ≥ 9.8 as high miRNA-155. The expression level of miRNA-155 was significantly higher in AML patients than in controls (p = 0.002). Patients with high miRNA expression had a significantly higher white blood cells count (p = 0.002), bone marrow blasts (p = 0.006) and peripheral blood blasts (p = 0.006) compared to patients with low miRNA-155 expression. Patients with poor cytogentics had a significantly higher level of miRNA-155 expression compared to patients with favorable cytogentics (p = 0.007). The complete remission rate was significantly higher in patients with low miRNA-155 expression compared to those with high expression (86.4% and 23.5%, consequently, p = 0.004). Neural network and genetic algorithms are complementary technologies in the design of adaptive intelligent system. Neural network learns from scratch by adjusting the interconnections betweens layers. Genetic algorithms are a popular computing framework that uses principals from natural population genetics to evolve solutions to problems. Various forecasting methods have been developed on the basis of neural network, but accuracy has been matter of concern in these forecasts. In neural network methods forecasted values depend to the choose of neural predictor structure, the number of the input, the lag. To remedy to these problem, in this paper, the authors are investing the applicability of an automatic design of a neural predictor realized by real Genetic Algorithms to predict the future value of a time series. The prediction method is tested by using meteorology time series that are daily and weekly mean temperatures in Melbourne, Australia, 1980-1990.

The one dimensional Schrodinger equation associated with a time-dependent Morse potentials is studied. We use the invariant operator method （Lewis and Riesenfeld） to obtain approximate solution of the Schrodinger equation in terms of solution of second order ordinary differential equation describes the amplitude of the Morse potentials.

In this paper we propose a new class of ternary Zero Correlation Zone (ZCZ) sequence sets based on binary ZCZ sequence sets construction. It is shown that the proposed ternary ZCZ sequence sets can reach the upper bound on the ZCZ sequences. The performance of the proposed sequences set in asynchronous Direct Sequence-Code Division Multiple Access (DS-CDMA) system is evaluated. In the simulation we used two types of channels: Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and frequency non-selective fading with AWGN noise. The proposed ternary ZCZ sequence sets show better results, in term of Bit Error Rate (BER), than Hayashi’s ternary ZCZ sequence sets.

Characterization of the Biodegradation of Kasbahs of the Gharb Region (Mehdia and Kenitra Kasbahs, Morocco)

With the aim of contributing to the solutions linked to the problems of the preventive preservation and the restoration of the Kasbah of Mehdia or the Kasbah of Moulay El Hassan, a study of the flora populating the facades of these historical monuments was realized and showed the presence of a varied and diverse vegetation populating these buildings left to the ravages of time. The inventory of this flora showed the existence of 70 species among which 48were exclusively detected at the Kasbah of Mehdia, 11 other species were only discovered at the Kasbah of Kenitra and 11 vegetal species were inventoried at both Kasbahs. These plant species are divided into 28 families. Four families clearly dominate the flora inventoried at both Kasbahs of the Gharb region. These are the Asteraceae (15.7%),Poaceae (10%), Apiaceae (8.6%) and Scrophulariaceae (5.7%). These families alone account for 41.4% of the specific size of the flora of the studied sites. The most dominant vegetal type is the therophytes with 61.4% of the total specific size, followed by hemicryptophytes with 17.1%. Located at the top or the base of walls, these plants, fitting into joints or cracks, have a chemical action on the stones by acids which they release and also have a mechanical action on the stones by the growth of roots inside cracks. This vegetation remains one of the most important biological factors of the degradation of historical monuments.

Background: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection has been suggested as a cause of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) refractory to iron therapy. Objective: The aim of this work was to evaluate the association between H. pylori infection and IDA among school-age children. Subjects and Methods: This was a prospective case-control study conducted for one year starting from March 2015 and included 200 school-age children with IDA and 50 age and sex matched non-anemic controls, attending pediatric outpatient clinic at Sohag university Hospital, Sohag, Upper Egypt. All of participants were subjected to clinical evaluation and the following investigations: CBC, serum iron, total iron binding capacity, serum ferritin and a quantitative detection of H. pylori IgG antibodies. Results: Totally, 72 (36%) children with IDA and 6 (12%) non-anemic controls had positive level for H. pylori specific IgG (P = 0.036). H. pylori IgG antibody titer showed significant positive correlation with age and significant negative correlation with each of Hb level, MCV, HCT and serum ferritin. Age was higher (p H. pylori positive IDA cases in comparison to H. pylori negative IDA cases. Conclusion: The results of this study demonstrate significant association between positive serology for H. pylori infection and IDA in school-age children. Moreover, infection may increase the severity of anemia.

Foreign body ingestion is a common condition, es-pecially among children who represent 80% of these emergencies. The most frequently ingested foreign bodies in children are coins, toys, magnets and batter-ies. Most foreign body ingestions in adults occur while eating, leading to either bone or meat bolus impaction. Flexible endoscopy is the therapeutic method of choice for relieving food impaction and removing true foreign bodies with a success rate of over 95% and with mini-mal complications. This review describes a comprehen-sive approach towards patients presenting with foreign body ingestion. Recommendations are based on a review of the literature and extensive personal experi-ence.

Renewable energy options, including solar power, are becoming increasingly viable alternatives to conventional sources of energy, such as oil, coal and natural gas. Solar Photovoltaic （PV） technology is one type of solar energy technologies that has recently received substantial attention because it offers the possibility of providing clean power sources for buildings. The aim of this paper is to examine the economic viability of using solar PV within future residential buildings in the oil-rich Saudi Arabia. Strictly speaking, the prospects of using the PV in order to provide 10% of the electricity to be consumed in the houses, which are going to be built in Sandi Arabia over the period 2010-2025, are examined. The study reveals that significant economic and environmental benefits could be realized as a result of such an endeavor.
